I really like this place I went in the other day and and Jesse told me I needed brakes I trust his opinion and he did a great job and I knew I needed brakes at the time but I really recommend this place so when you do go in see Jesse he will take care of you. Went back to Coastline and again had a great service from Dan took me right in battery charged back up and I was back on the road and I just want to give praise to Coastline for being professional and honest and I highly recommend it plus l went in with my RV in and out want to thank Mike great licorice

Went in for new tires. Found out my suspension was shot. Long story short, Gary (manager) made a very expensive and embarrassing situation so much better. He went above and beyond for me, he has a customer for life. My dad used to do business here and was always satisfied. These folks treat us Leisure World seniors fairly and with respect. Thanks to all at Coastline Auto.

I would give Zero stars if I could. New to the area and needed a simple oil change. Went in for the $ 10 Oil change and left paying over $ 60. Also, they didn’t tighten the bolt back on my oil pan all the way so about a week later I walked outside to see my oil all over my driveway! Lastly, I had my vehicle checked out by my mechanic from where I am from originally before I moved out here to Ca and got the all clear truck is in great health. These «mechanics» told me I needed an additional $ 1,300 worth of work done, even going as far as telling me that my shocks were leaking. Trusting my hometown mechanic, I was skeptical of these guys so I took it in for a second opinion to the dealership and they confirmed my suspicions, NONE of that extra work needed to be performed! Will NEVER do business with these people again!

The team over at coastline is extremely knowledgeable and efficient. The manager Gary is honest and every time I have taken my vehicle to them Gary always insists on showing me what is wrong and what they need to do. That type of hands on attitude from a manager is exactly what the industry needs. My wife’s car recently went for an oil change at her local mechanic and needless to say they came back with some basic repairs and an elevated quote, they said they inspected the car and it was fine otherwise. I didn’t believe them so I convinced my wife to let me have her car inspected at coastline. Gary called us and we went back down, he wanted to show us personally what they had found. Needless to say that the other mechanic left us high and dry. They rocker arms were badly damaged and the engine was missing two motor mounts. WOW, i could of lost my wife or granddaughter on the highway because some other so called professional didnt bother to actually follow through with the inspection. I saw the damage, I saw the missing motor mounts, I know they weren’t trying to mess with me or up sell me, heck, Gary even said if I want I could take it to the other place and ask them to inspect it again. NO WAY! I wouldn’t let those part hangers touch my truck or my wife’s car ever again. Be careful out there people, some of those shops size you up for what your worth and then only offer the stuff that fits in that budget, not what you actually need. At coastline, I know I get a fair deal and an honest inspection, each of those guys is highly trained and knows what they are doing. I work in a hands on industry and part of my job is sales, I can see a con coming a mile away and at coastline at least I can rest easy that they aren’t trying to pull one over on me. You have a customer for life guys, keep up the honest work
Oh and on a side note, I have never, ever been treated with anything less than excellent customer service from any of the team. Even my granddaughter who is five was given the full red carpet treatment there. Some people just don’t want to hear that the car they drive isn’t invincible and has wear and tear, think about it, its a car and its being driven, things will go bad eventually.

I have previously had work done on my AC and bought several sets of new tires for my other vehicles. I recently upgraded to a new vehicle and had an argument with a nail so brought the ‘new to me’ vehicle in for new tires. They are honest enough to have me only repair the tire vs buying a new set. Honesty to a customer who was willing to purchase new tires on the spot is a commendable act. They know I’ll come back, but they were honest enough to tell me to come back when needed, and not sell me what I don’t need right now. Go to them, they do good work and you can be assured you aren’t being taken advantage of by dishonest people. Their honesty should be rewarded.

Great service, great prices. Needed 4 new low pro tires and said I was looking for something in store and cheap. Steve quickly found a set and gave me the price. It was the lowest price I’ve seen out of everything on my internet wish list. Got the tires installed and went for the oil change and service. Got a call saying I had a couple of things that needed attention and that getting them done was NOT urgent at all. What garage says this??? Got them done out of laziness. Went to pick up my car and got the run down on everything. Overall their honesty is what struck me and will keep me going back! I highly recommend this place.

An arrogant, sarcastic, condescending jerk with an knack for pissing people off.
While waiting for help I watched him totally blow off a customer while the customer asked him a simple question.
Instead of helping the customer, this service writer totally pissed off the potential customer and the customer left.
The service writer is the overweight Latino who sits at the desk to the right in the lobby.
I went in for the 9.95 oil change. Mr Obese Latino attempted to up sell me on repairs that I didn’t want or need. He became angry and
Sarcastic. Just like he was to the customer ahead of me while I was waiting in line.
The whole experience dealing with this jackass left me wondering how much potential business walked out the door
Because of his bad attitude and poor customer service skills.
I would not return here or recommend this place to anyone.

I hate giving one star reviews but this place deserves worse. First annoyance was that They didn’t want to honor the banner that’s hanging out the large sign outside for 9.99 oil change. They tried to up sell me a different package when I clearly wanted exactly what was on the banner.
Then the rep tells me that if I want anything other than 5w 30 oil, they would have to charge me extra from the 9.99 banner price. And then they lied saying that my car came with synthetic which is another 40 extra. My car does Not come with synthetic.
They of course find another major issue on my car and manager who has overly dyed black hair, who is huffing and puffing with his condescending chest pounding tone of voice saying that no one can fix this problem. He is extremely rude and is pouting about his store being the greatest and that he is the only salaried manager in this «dirty industry». Whoa there, why are you being so defensive? I was just taken aback by his poor customer service skills.
I gave him a chance to address some of the concerns I had up front. For instance they told me I had a leak in my engine oil and I asked to show me the oil dipstick. He pulls out dipstick but does not wipe it off, reinsert to recheck the levels which is the industry standard for how to check oil. These concerns and experiences I talk to Gary about, But rather than talk it out like gentlemen, he instead told me to «GET OUT».
Usually when a customer is giving feedback in a collected manner, it is your chance to explain and make things right, build further trust with what could be your next life long client.
What does he do? He tells me to leave as he almost loses his temper! It was a sad thing to witness.
I have never felt so mistreated but at least I have this avenue of letting the community know about this business. Be careful here folks. Don’t be drawn in by that falsified banner that makes you think you’ll be saving money. The reviews speak for themselves.
EDIT: in response to Gary’s comment which is «from the business». Gary, this is to you. I think you are being extremely disingenuous, stating that you care about customers and want to hear more about my case. That’s because it was You, who was the rude and disrespectful person that I spoke to in the shop. It was You who couldn’t hold an adult conversation with some of the concerns I had of your store. It was you who was talking in arrogant condescending overtones on how you have the greatest store in this city. You were short tempered, rude, and I wouldnt let your techs work on my car even if you offered free service.

I brought my BMW in because it was running hot, Coastline power flushed cooling system, 2 tires, Valve Cover Gaskets, Oil Filter Housing Gaskets, 1 day rental car (their cost $ 25).Total $ 2,108. When I drove away I noticed a clunking noise, when going slow and stopping.
When I got home I looked more closely at my receipt, I noticed they charged me $ 40, for the rental, I called Enterprise and asked how much a 1day rental would cost, they quoted me $ 29. A week later my husband told me to go to BMW, have them check out the clunking noise, BMW said it was Transfer Case, also said I had oil leaking from Valve Cover or/​and Housing Gasket, I told them that I already had those fixed last week, I called Coastline and Gary Anderson told me to bring the car back to Coastline, that BMW was trying to rip me off. I brought car to Coastline, they had the car 5 days, when I picked up car, they said nothing was wrong with it, I drove off the lot with the clunking noise still there, (I didn’t know who to believe)
11 days later, my car is hot again, I bring it back to Coastline, Gary says he’ll have to reflush again, to get rid of residue oil in cooling system (this time no charge). I also tell Coastline that when they put the tires on, I started to hear clunking noise, Gary Anderson tells me it’s my Drive Shaft Flex U Joint $ 487. When I drove away I could still hear the clunking noise, really confused and frustrated to turn around and go back.
I’ve taken my car to 3 different repair shops, all stating the Drive Shaft Flex U Joint was in great condition (I took the part he replaced with me), that in fact it was the Transfer Case. I asked Gary if he could replace my old Flex Joint for the new one, so I could get my money back, he said” I can, but I would have to charge you the labor, and you wouldn’t get the money back because now the new Flex Joint is used. 2 weeks later, my car is smoking from under hood, I take it to BMW Dealership, only to find out the Valve Gasket is leaking, missing spark plug metal tube seals, I told them to replace it, because now I know Coastline is incapable of working on my car. BMW also told me that my Housing Gasket is leaking, and again, that the Transfer Case needs to be replaced. I take my car to Coastline to tell them that the Housing Gasket was still leaking and I want my money back or have it repaired… Gary yelled at me, told me I was a pain in his ass, and he didn’t want my business, won’t honor the warranty and to get off his property.

These guys used to be convenient when I lived across the street. Now that I live across town, it’s a pain to get over here. Bought road hazard warranties on a set of tires with a 35,000 mile warranty. Brought them in a month ago or so for constent slow leak and was told all my tires were fine and didn’t need to be fixed. Had to put air in my tire at least 6x since I was last able to make it in and now I need a new set of tires? And a pair will only cost me $ 280? No thanks. I’ll go local to Long Beach from now on and not get ripped off on a bullshit warranty that’s not honored and buy a set of tires from somewhere more reputable. These tires had a 35k warranty and it just so happens I now have between 35 and 36k miles on them today but when I brought them in less than 2000 miles ago, they were fine? Bullshit.

I came in to get my oil change. When it was done, I went to work. I was curious if they put any oil. There is no oil in my car. I was very upset. I had to go to auto zone and put the oil myself. Never again will I got to that place.

I have been bringing all my cars here ever since I got my license when I was 16, and they were even at a different location. Everyone who works at Coastline is extremely friendly and I’ve never once had a bad experience when dealing with the guys in the office, or with the gentleman working on my car. Coastline is close to home for me, and whenever they have needed to order parts for my car, it never takes more than just two days. They also have a complimentary shuttle for transportation if you don’t have someone to pick you up when you leave your car there. They are wonderful! Keep up the good work guys!!!

This place used to be good. 3 recent trips bad customer service. Crossing them off my list.

I purchased 4 new tires for my vehicle. The price for the tires, balance and alignment was almost $ 175 less than the dealer. I got the car in a couple of hours as promised.
I saw some recent Unilocal postings and almost didn’t go in. However I’ve been there 3 different times over the past couple of years due to a nail (twice) and a medal object that cause my tire to go flat. They quickly repaired my tire each time and didn’t charge me. The employee there at the time just said, «next time you need tires or repair, come back and give us your business». Well I did for the tires and it was a very good and cost saving experience.

My brake light went on last weekend so I scheduled an appointment online with a shop in Long Beach. It was highly recommended that I have all 4 rotors and brake pads replaced along with the 2 sensors. Immediately. I was shown the «damage» and was told that the brake fluid had an extremely high copper level. The sensors were stretched, about to snap. And the cobwebs, had my car been sitting for an extended period of time? I agreed that I did not want to be a statistic by not taking this care of ASAP to the tune of $ 1095.00
Thank goodness I got a second opinion. Louie at Coastline Auto Care found that the brake fluid level was low, and the reason my light went on. He showed me the copper testing strip that showed a slight copper level, nowhere near where there should be concern. He gave me a quick education on how brakes work and what to look for in the future. I should be good for another 5,000 miles.

I’ve been a Coastline customer for four years or so. My last couple experiences here have been poor, although I will say they did rectify the last issue to my satisfaction. I brought my Honda there last week due to an engine light. They said the issue was a bad oxygen sensor or sensors. Long story short, they overcharged me for the parts quite significantly. It didn’t really register for me until I got home and looked at the details on the invoice and researched the parts online. I felt a little taken and so I went back later that week and asked if that was normally how they do things. They double checked the cost of the parts, acknowledged they charged too much, cut me a check for some of the difference, and apologized. I appreciated the way they handled it but I doubt I will over there again. The trust factor has been kind of blown and judging from the other reviews others have had some bad experiences. Their service has been pretty good, very good turn around times, and I’m sure they’re fine for oil changes and tires but I’ve got to be able to trust the shop is charging me a reasonable amount for services performed.

So I am beyond broke right now and needed my tire looked at (I’m tire knowledge impaired). I called Coastline and spoke with Gary. He said to bring it in and they would look at it. When I got there Steve helped me and he gave me the blunt honest truth about what was wrong with my tire. And he explained it in a way that made sense to me. He didn’t try to haggle me or sell me anything. He spoke to me like a person, which is beyond amazing. I want to commend both Gary and Steve for being nice, personable people who helped me at a time when I needed it. Needless to say I will take all my tire needs to them in the future (aka — when I get paid).

Went in on a Sunday morning to get a flat repair and they rocked it. not only did I not have to wait, but they didn’t charge me one red cent. SUPER friendly service (Jonathan) fixed the flat. Took less than 30 minutes and I was off and running. I think I found my new go to for oil changes, tires, etc.
Not many places like this around any longer.

A Coastline customer of 3+ years, every time I come in for new tires or a tire adjustment, they attempt to upsell for services or repairs that I don’t need. Fortunately, as I have work experience in the auto industry and my dad is a Toyota corporate employee of over 25+ years, I know when to say no to the upsell and yes to «I just need the tires or basic adjustment.»
Previously, I didn’t mind the upsell because I know when to parse the fact from fiction. However, a recent experience has compelled me to say «enough is enough.»
I came into Coastline for new tires and an adjustment for my 2010 Prius. While they were attempting to do the alignment, I received a phone call saying the cambers are worn out and it would be an extra $ 300 to fix. The general manager/​store owner handed me a document printout as «evidence» that the cambers were worn out and was adamant that they needed to be replaced, stating: «I don’t recommend anything that is not needed.» Not thinking I needed new cambers, the alignment was called off and walked out with only new tires.
Upon looking at the alignment «evidence,» the alignment printout shows that my vehicle a 2010, 3^rd generation Prius was calibrated against a 2004 – 2009, 2^nd generation Prius. No wonder the GM said I needed new cambers — my car was being calibrated against a different car’s specifications! Still needing the alignment, I took my car to another shop, they said my cambers are fine and did a proper alignment.

Went in on a Friday for an oil change. Was sold on a «five-​point inspection». What a mistake that was. After 2 ½ hours wait, I was told that my car needed a plethora of repairs totaling $ 2,197. The next day I took my car to another Auto repair shop and was told, I only needed two out of the eight items repaired. It was a total savings of $ 1,427.
Basically, RUN! don’t walk from this auto repair shop. They are in to scamming their customers.
