I feel compelled to respond to the negative comments regarding the staff at this office that have been previously posted. From my experience over the last year in which I am at the office once a week, I have been treated with the utmost professionalism. All of the nurses and office staff are not only highly competent, but they are compassionate, kind, friendly, helpful and to top it off, they have a marvelous sense of humor. It is refreshing to see a doctor these days whose staff actually care about the patients and treat them with respect. I actually look forward to my weekly visits, even though I am getting 5 injections, just to visit with these wonderful ladies.
And btw, this is the first Spring in many years in which I haven’t spent the day in an «antihistamine coma» because my allergies were so bad. Dr L, who recently retired and Dr Tsai who has taken over the practice have really done very well by me. I thank them both and highly recommend this office to anyone suffering from severe allergies and asthma such as myself.

I made an appointment to see the allergist here a while back for hives that I got one morning all over my neck and chest.
While I was holding my son in my arms, the doctor told me that people like me shouldn’t have children due to my allergic history and my child’s allergic history. That felt awkward and I didn’t agree with that statement.
I went through with testing, tested allergic to almost everything. It was no surprise I react easily on a skin prick test; afterall, I have a severely allergic child myself.
Current research points to allergies being due to a maternal link. So, there is some scientific basis behind what this doctor said. But no such advice has been issued by any of the organizations publishing recommendations on allergies. Are allergies so bad that those with a history of severe allergies shouldn’t have kids? What about others with a family history of common conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, or hypertension? Those can be bad too. If we say that people with conditions shouldn’t have kids, that rules out most of the American population; afterall, who is in perfect health?

Highly disappointing:
1) Couldn’t get a rough estimate — let alone a straight answer — about pricing even though I provided my insurance info up front. Receptionist seemed VERY defensive about not knowing the price (not even an ESTIMATE) and kept trying to push the blame game back on me. It took three unpleasant conversations and an hour of explanation for them realize I only wanted a rough price estimate.
My impression is that the reception staff is either sleazy (like salesman hiding the true price), incompetent, or a bad touch of both.
2) Have to set THREE appointments for testing (each appt costing up to $ 395 depending on type of insurance), which wasn’t explained to me up front.
3) The overall consultation and allergy testing were Ok. The only saving grace for this review.
4) I didn’t even see Dr. Loscialpo for anything; instead I saw another doctor (Dr. L’s partner). He was good but be aware that you may end up with someone not advertised.
I won’t be going back. Do not recommend. I’ll stick with my Clariton.

Dr. Loscialpo and his staff are wonderful. They have done an amazing job of taking care of my severe allergies for several years now.

Dr. Loscialpo is very knowledgeable and proactive.
That said, the nurses are the real shining stars here!
They have some how, magically, gotten my 7 year old son excited about coming to get 3 shots in the arm twice a week!

Dr. Loscialpo is very proactive on getting a patient off meds through routine allergy shots. However, I don’t like how he pushes new meds onto me that some vendor has asked him to try out. I feel like a guinea pig. He only offers the meds when I’m having a problem, not all the time, but then it’s like, «Let me know how it works out because these meds are new and we’re trying them out.» what???
His staff is friendly and welcoming. They seem kind and they do try to get to know each person.

Ugh, how bizarrely rude.
The receptionist seemed enthusiastic and proud of her workplace, but was rather impatient and vague to answer questions.
I started off asking if they offer pinprick testing, and then asking if they do environmental allergens. Perhaps this is a basic question, but she only answered vaguely, with a «yes we do, and we have many.» I tried to repeat the question, to ask how many environmental allergens they have the capacity to treat for, and she again refused to answer, asking why I need to know that. From then, she took an impatient and hostile tone.
All I am trying to do is be informed. Some allergists only have the capacity to test for 20, others have up to 60. Meanwhile, some allergists are able to put on several panels (all 60) in 1 visit, while others draw it out over 5 – 6 visits.
I am glad that I stayed on the line to figure out what their testing process generally is: 1 consult, 1 separate visit per panel (5 panels), 1 summary visit. That means it could be 5 – 7 visits. Who has the time for that?
If I had just scheduled an appointment, like the receptionist rushedly prompted me to do 4 times in the phone call, then I would have started a lengthy process that just would not work with my schedule.
If an office is at all interested in getting new business, you should have the utmost patience and transparency when responding to client inquires about what treatments and testing is available, and the estimated time frame for the treatments.
I believe patience and respectful customer service is extremely important. If not these basic values, what else do we have left in the world?

Dr. Loscialpo («loshalpo») and his staff are so very helpful in determining what’s allergy and what’s not. He’s very experienced, plus he listens and he cares. The same goes for the 3 ladies helping him out. They’re all very pleasant.
