Shore Acres Resort On Loon Lake

Well, my first experience ever going to this place was not a good one at all. It really put a bad taste in my mouth and I’m super sad because it looked like a cool place to swim and relax at! We pull up to the parking lot around 3:30ish. We find a parking spot almost immediately with a few other open spots, grab the baby and all her gear, which is a task in it’s self, and walk down to the beach. Walking to the beach was a few hundreds yards away, but not too bad of a walk.
We get to the beach and there really wasn’t anyone here. We think we scored and we are super excited to go play in the water on such a hot day! We see a sign that all guests must check in and pay. No problem, even though I never had to pay to go swimming before… but whatever, I was excited to check it out. We walk into the little store and was greeted by a man. We said we wanted to pay to go swimming I guess. He then said «oh we are full for the day!» I had a look of confusion on my face after he said that and replied, that no one is even here and on the beach. He said that we were going to put up a sign, but they had not gotten around to it yet and mentioned something about parking. Now keep in mind that we were going to pay almost $ 60 for all of us to go swimming for a few hours, if that. They could of looked outside and noticed that there were maybe a whole 6 people sitting on your huge beach and maybe make an exception for us… All of us standing there with all of our hands full of gear and a baby that just wants to play in the water? …But nope they just pushed us out the door like a piece of crap and I don’t even think they said sorry! We will NEVER go there again, nor do I recommend this place to anyone EVER!!! Go anywhere else but there!!!

Great place with beautifully kept grounds, friendly people, and the best oysters po boy this side of New Orleans in the nice little restaurant.

I would NEVER stay here again! The sites are super tiny. Your neighbors are literally right on top of you. Also the «regular crowd» are extremely rude and unfriendly. They have community firepits that are «taken» by the regulars. Save yourself some headache! Also my 11 year old son with a disability was on the swing set which calms him and was approached by a drunk «manager» and told «hey buddy why don’t you get off of our swing set your killin it dude» the swing set is a large wooden one. I went to the store manager who looked at my son and said he is fine to swing on the set. So he went back to swing on it and was again insulted by the drunk guy who then removed the swings entirely. The people camping next to us said he was a bully as well.

Beautiful rustic little 1950s retro lake resort. The cabins are small and dated but are so perfect for this nostalgic experience. Come try the cabins and if you like the place, reserve a seasonal RV spot. The beach is clean, swimming area is roped off, the docks are new and have plenty of places to park your boat. Loon lake has pretty good fishing for the adults and kids can catch sunfish all day right of Off the dock. The diner is ok, wasn’t my favorite but if you need some grinds, it’s the closest place to go. All in all, a great little family resort!

This place is a joke! The owner/​cook is a complete asshole.

Stayed there late in the season. This is an older resort with cabins and an RV park. It has great water front access. We stayed there on the last week of the season, and they will be closed until spring. We were the on RVs in the place and just stayed overnight. It is a little long in the tooth, but reminds me of the type of resort in the ‘90s movie Dirty Dancing. They have a restaurant there that was closed for the season, so I cannot rate it. They have a modest store that has most travelers’ staples and fishing supplies. Boat rentals, and a pretty nice beach and dock. The spaces are pretty small, and access is kind of cramped for longer motor homes. The only thing I didn’t like was the drive from the highway. This made the place real quiet, but took a little to drive around the lake to get to for just someone traveling through. For someone wanting to stay there a week, that would be a plus.
