Tri-City Self Storage

My things were kept here in a storage unit for 3 weeks. I had paid for the insurance that the storage staff recommended. My lock was picked and about $ 1150 worth of things were stolen. Another person a few units down from me had his unit broken into at the same time. I filed a police report for my stolen things. I reported the loss to the insurance company. After 2 months, the insurance company decided that my claim was denied because there was no sign of forced entry. The storage unit’s owner was extremely unhelpful and rude about this matter. Horrible customer service. She told me that they have nothing to do with the insurance and it wasn’t even her responsibility to be on the phone with me about this matter. There was no video footage or other evidence showing what happened at my unit for proof and she was not willing to go to bat for me with the insurance company. She ultimately said this wasn’t her problem that my things got stolen from her storage facility and that she didn’t need to waste anymore of her time talking with me about it. I find this to be completely unacceptable and would never recommend this storage facility to anyone. It is unlike me to write a negative review, but I feel like this situation should have been handled better and since I won’t be getting reimbursed for my stolen things, the least I can do is prevent this from happening to someone else.
