Yes it’s touristy, but I like it. I’m from Chattanooga originally, and I brought my boyfriend here when we came home. It is random, but a great piece of Chattanooga history. Who else has an incline straight up a mountain at a 72 degree angle?

Waited an hour and a half to get on the train only to sit next to a window I couldn’t even see out of due to the sun hazing over the plexi glass. Then waited another hour and a half to come back down. There is no set times when you can go and return so it was a fend for yourself/everyone trying to cut to the front. My 3yrd found it to be boring as well. Not with the ticket price!

It is what you would think! Very steep ride great view on a clear day! Takes longer to get on than the ride which is only 10 min each way!

Ehh, really nothing to this one. You ride down, and then you wait in a line for 10 minutes to ride back up. Both ways you’re facing the decline, so that’s the only view you’ll get… and literally just the decline itself, because the woods mostly block a panoramic view of the city. This would all be ok if it was cheap, but it’s not. Plus, you got to pay for parking. I would say that you could skip this one and not miss much.

I’m not sure why this gets such bad reviews! I thought that the incline was really cool, the view was cool… a bit expensive but its a touristy thing! Don’t listen to the tip someone left. When you get to the bottom(or the top) you can stay for as long as you want. There is a new train every 15 minutes! You can explore for as long as the incline is open.

It sounded a lot more interesting online… we were in the area on the way to Florida and decided to make a random touristy stop. This definitely was it. Kinda pricey for the train ride itself and had to pay for parking(metered at the top). Brought the kiddies and they enjoyed it, but then again they’re kids and they enjoy rides in general. The views at the top of the train station were much nicer than being on the train itself. It was interesting for what it was, I can mark it off my list of randomness. No need to do it again… probably why it’s so pricey.

I was expecting to see some gorgeous views of the mountains as the train crawled down. But nope, I got to see glimpses of people’s backyards. The train blocks a lot of view as well. Even at the bottom the downtown is kind of depressing with barely any action. Overrated, I would only recommend this if you have nothing better to do there and that you already checked out Rock City.

I just wasn’t impressed. You can barely see out of the cloudy windows. It’s not worth the cash. If you are going here on your way to Rock City skip it trust me!
