The woes of good shepherd hospital are real. No wonder they are in trouble. In the four days my wife was here, the treating doctor was the only good thing. Dr not called by nurse; slow or no responses by nursing staff,; poor housekeeping practices. I should know, I have worked in hospitals and run a federally qualified health center. Too bad the other hospital isn’t any better.

After over a 12 hour wait, no food, no phone, no call button, totally ignored when her blood pressure spiked over 200 my mother finally was put in her room in the stroke center. She had to get up and go to the desk at the ER to get some one to help her! I called 3 times and was told the dietician, hospitalist, etc had all been in to see all patients not in a room and taken care of them. The last time I called I had to talk to 3 people before they could even tell me she was still in the ER(8pm). I called again just before 9pm and she was finally in her room, could not eat the wimpy cold wilted food she got and she was near hysterics. Only go there if you have someone who will stay with you and raise hell! I was not able to because I was at my doctor’s having tests run but believe me, I will be there tomorrow all day if needed and will not let her stay an extra night, she will be brought home or transferred to another hospital!
