Specialties
The Korean martial art of Taekwondo is translated as «the way of kicking and striking». Students of our ongoing Taekwondo classes learn self defense techniques and traditional movements. Some of the benefits: Improved physical fitness, self confidence, and competence in stressful situations.
History
Established in 2009.
Head Instructor John Lynn had almost 20 years of teaching experience before starting classes with City of Longmont Recreation Services, where he taught for four and a half years. The core Taekwondo and self defense classes are the same but are now in a facility dedicated to martial arts.
Before moving to the beautiful state of Colorado, the Lynns trained in Gainesville, Florida, under James and Susan Lybarger, who had been trained directly by Grandmaster Choon Lee of the American Korean Taekwondo Association (AKTA). Students of Left Foot Academy of Taekwondo make regular trips to AKTA Headquarters in Kansas to ensure the quality of the school’s instruction.
