History

Established in 2011.

Hands On Auto Tech was originally going to be a school. When it was realized that the Carbon Valley area was not in need of another automotive school Tom and Laura bought the school and turned it into a premier automotive repair shop focused on quality, honest repairs and good customer service.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Tom, Laura’s husband, serviced the large C5 galaxy cargo jet in the US Air-​force as an electronic and environmental aircraft technician and has over 15 years experience repairing automobiles. Laura Rutherford started working on cars in 2010. She decided to start her own auto repair shop after being taken advantage of at other shops. She wanted to have a shop where women could feel comfortable having their vehicles serviced with out having to worry about being taken advantage of. Jim has been servicing cars for longer then Tom (you can ask how much longer yourself. Damon brings experience from both local diesel and local European specialty shops. Together they make the winning team that is Hands On Auto Tech.
