Got to be one of the most annoying practices I’ve ever seen. The office staff just oozes a used car salesman vibe and will –not– stop badgering you… about add-​ons, about cleanings, about options. Go there once and you are on their list. prepare to get non-​stop contacts and sales pitches. They will call and email you non-​stop reminding you to come in every few weeks. «This is so-​and-​so at Dr. Rogge’s office just reminding you that it’s been a month since your last visit! Just wanted to see when we could set you up an appointment!» Make an appointment and they call you to remind you the day before… sometimes more than once. If you are 2 minutes late for check in, they will be calling you to figure out where you are and it isn’t a pleasant tone; it’s more like ‘where the hell are you?’ and ‘why aren’t you here yet?!’ and ‘where did you put that finger Kyle?!’. I swear, they treat you like a child who can’t figure out how a calendar works. And don’t even think about getting out of there without a conversation about why you can’t make an appointment for your next visit right now… don’t you want good dental health?! So if you enjoy telemarketing-​type calls from your own dentist and used car sales-​like pressure, by all means, go here. Otherwise, keep looking.

I have been going here for around 10 years now. I have had crowns and fillings replaced. They will not do root canals here but will refer you to an Endodontist. The staff is great and all the hygienists are good. I have sensitive gums and they will put on a numbing agent to make it more comfortable for me. They have sunglass like visors to keep you from getting blinded by the overhead light as well. They also have an overhead monitor so you can watch TV while getting a cleaning.
I really like Dr Rogge since he does not try to sell you anything. A few years ago my wife went to a dentist while pregnant and he made it sound horrible, like the baby would be in danger if we did not drop $ 2000 on dental work right away. We went to Dr Rogge for a second opinion and while they detected similar results with testing, he did not use shock and awe to explain our options.
I have also had cracked teeth and he just will watch them for a while to see if they get to a point were you really need to do something. This approach allows you to plan and save for your dental work.
I did have a couple of billing issues, so I advise watching that (like with any place). When I presented the issues to the staff they took care of it promptly.
The cavity replacements were a removal of mercury with the white bonding agent. No problems with any of these. My crows are fine as well. They now can make you a crown the same day at the office (don’t remember if it is while you wait fast or not).
And yes, they do dip your hands in wax if you want so you can relax more, offer fresh baked bread or cookies, and have jersey day on Fridays during the NFL season :)
Oh, and there is now a loyality credit if you have been going to them for some amount of years (1, 5, and 10 maybe).

I made an appointment for my son at Artistic Smiles because Dr. Rogge was rated as a «Top Dentist» by 5280 magazine. The front office staff is very friendly, but perhaps a bit too much so, actually, in kind of a «Stepford Wives» way. Their smiles never quite reach their eyes, and everything they say sounds scripted. I found that a little bit creepy, but I guess it’s better than a rude and surly office crew.
At first I thought the office tour was a great idea, but when I paused to ask a question, it obviously flustered my tour guide; she was so much on autopilot, she lost track of what she was saying, was unable to answer my question (I asked what kind of certifications Dr. Rogge has), and had to back up her speech to get back on track.
While this was going on, my son was having his teeth cleaned. The office staff assured me that my insurance would fully pay for the exam and cleaning, and they offered to seal his teeth, which they said my insurance would also fully pay for. I later received a bill, and when I complained that I’d been told everything was fully covered, the billing woman said, «We only give an estimate of insurance coverage as a courtesy to you. We cannot guarantee how much your responsibility will be.» I also found out that their charges for fillings are nearly twice what our old dentist charged (whom we no longer go to only because we moved).
As other reviewers have noted, you are offered free bread and cookies in the waiting area. This might seem like a nice gesture, but considering how bad they are for your teeth (and body!), it makes me question Dr. Rogge’s judgment and motive.
A few days after that visit, I took my son to his orthodontist to have his permanent retainers glued on, and the orthodontist said, «It would have been better if you’d had your son’s teeth cleaned first. We had to scrape off a lot of calculus before we could affix the retainers.» I told him I DID just have his teeth cleaned, and he was floored. He couldn’t believe it. I can’t, either. Going to Artistic Smiles was a complete waste of time and money (though my son did report that their treatment chair was very comfortable, and he liked the free lip balm and water bottle he was given). I wouldn’t recommend them unless having free cookies and bread is your top priority. But then again, considering that their charges are higher than other dentists (from what I’ve seen, anyway), they might turn out to be some very expensive cookies.

I really enjoy the group at Artistic Smiles.
Like many people, I have a dislike of going to the dentist, however every appointment I have had with Dr Rogge and his staff has always been enjoyable. Not only is the staff very knowledgeable, but they also did a great job of putting me at ease, educating me on what my procedure will entail and providing me with cost and options available. I had a major concern with cost, but they worked with me and my insurance to bill as needed.
My first visit was one of the best experiences. They made me feel comfortable, provided me with a tour of the facility and I even walked out with a fresh baked loaf of bread!
I needed a good deal of work when I first showed up, but the end results was nothing short of spectacular. I just wish I had a bigger mouth to show off more of my teeth now!

I’ve been going to Artistic Smiles for a few years now, and never thought to Unilocal them until they showed me a printout of Rita S.‘s psychotic review on my last visit.
At first, I thought it was some kind of joke, you know, like the Saturday Night Live skit with the people who hated EVERYTHING, The Whiners: «I don’t like prime rib, I want macaroni and cheese!» But it became apparent that this person hated everything that makes Artistic Smiles a great practice. All I can say is, don’t try to give Rita S. a million dollars, because she’ll complain about the color of the bag it came in!
Nobody likes to go to the dentist, but Cliff and his awesome staff make it as pleasant an experience as can be. I actually look forward to getting my teeth cleaned, it’s a rather relaxing experience, and, of course, a little nitrous doesn’t hurt, either, :)
Cliff, Lynda, Katie, Carol, and the rest of the staff are great people who go that extra mile to ensure your comfort and well-​being at every visit. Cliff is constantly continuing his education and updating his practice to employ the latest techniques. A crown used to take 2 – 3 appointments and several weeks, now you leave the office with one in TWO HOURS.
I can’t say enough good things about my dentist. If you want to get state-​of-​the-​art care in a relaxed and comfortable setting, by friendly and committed professionals, GO TO ARTISTIC SMILES.

Have been going here for over 5 years — they have always done a fantastic job for me, as well as my husband (for whom they have fixed work that was shoddily done elsewhere)! Love the service, which has been sorely lacking at other dentists in the area. Other reviews had issues with pricing, but as with anything, I always recommend fully understanding charges before consenting to something, or be willing to go get a 2^nd opinion. And though it is a cliché — you get what you pay for…

This review is for Artistic Smiles in Longmont. As soon as I walked in, I should have walked back out. No, lets go back further… as soon as I got off the phone making the appointment, I should have called back and canceled.
These people were too, too nice over the phone and bordered on the edge of irritating with all their questions and a spiel about the office, and then again with a follow up call that was unnecessary.
I walked into the office and smelled cookies! WTF?! What dentist has cookies in the waiting room!!! Along with coffee, sugar, creamer, teas and a bowl of fruit. My intuition told me to walk out and I have kicked myself for not listening!
After the intake, I was taken on a tour of the office. That’s right folks, a tour. Each chair has a monitor on which to watch a movie while being worked on. Seriously… how can one concentrate on a movie with drilling, prodding and poking going on?! I sure can’t. And over here we have a state of the art digital imaging machine… and? But the pièce de résistance was the paraffin wax bath for your hands, souvenir coffee mug, lip balm and pen! Run, run away as fast as you can.
My fears were confirmed after I was sold this antibiotic (Arestin) which they inject into your gum pockets. At $ 40 a pop and no insurance I was fuming mad and $ 320 in the hole. Not only that, but Arestin is only minimally effective and the hygenists get incentive pay for selling it! I was able to recoup half of that from the practice after much bitching, but I will never go back and will certainly do thorough research on a drug or procedure beforehand.
And the dentist? I saw him a total of 5 minutes on the first visit. He checked the xrays and looked at my teeth and told me what needed to be done and that was it. Didn’t even have the balls to talk to me about the Arestin!
