We offer excellence in medical care to visitors/​residents to Longboat Key/​Anna Maria/​Lido Key/​St. Armand’s as an alternative to treatment on the mainland or visiting the ER for urgent care. Dr. Letts is happy to provide immediate medical care to patients of all ages who are visitors to Longboat Key and surrounding areas. We take Blue Cross Blue Shield and Medicare insurance and provide the proper billing information to submit claims to other insurance companies.

History

Established in 2003.

Longboat Key’s family doctor died suddenly of a stroke in 1993. The ER docs at the local hospital noticed that many residents of LBK were seeking medical assistance in the ER, so they built a medical facility at Bay Isles and hired Dr Letts to be the medical director in 1996. That clinic was bought out in 2002 by another doctor in the area. Dr Letts moved north into Manatee County and built a new family practice and urgent care facility at Centre Shops in 2003.

Business Owner

Dr. Letts was born in Staten Island New York. She earned her B. S. in biology at Bucknell University in Lewisburg PA in 1966. She worked a summer at Columbia University in pharmacology in 1965 and was encouraged to continue her education. She followed a New York professor to the University of Toronto in Ontario Canada where she obtained her Master’s degree in Cell Biology in 1968. She did research in biochemistry for 5 years before entering medical school. She graduated from U of T in 1979 and received her certification in family medicine in 1981. She practiced and taught medical students in Toronto from 1982 to 1995 and was made professor emeritus in 2010. In 1996 she moved to the west coast of FL in order to help her aging parents and has been practicing in Longboat Key FL ever since. She has occasionally taught FSU medical students since 2006. She is board certified and is a Fellow in Canada and the USA and is affiliated with Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
