My dad and I come here ofter for supplies as we have to buy new items for our new home. One time, we have to clone keys so we can have the same keys for our front door.

This is the most disorganized store I have ever been to. I have spent lots of money at Home Depo so I was surprised at how poorly I was treated. Even customer service couldn’t get a manager on the phone or an associate that could provide information. They mess up all your online orders and there is 0 customer service. No one wants to help you in the store. They sold me a complete lemon washer/​dryer and despite acknowledging the problem, I can’t get them to pick it up. They had me waiting all day today but no pick up and can’t ever get someone on the phone.
Avoid this store at all costs!

Horrible Horrible Staff! I was on Hold for 34 mins,
6 sales associate picked up the phone, i explained ALL I NEED IS A PRICE ON A REFRIGERATOR, Noone came to help and all they did was put me on HOLD.
My friend recommended Pc Richard i got a quote in less than 2 minutes. Wow! On my way to purchase an entire kitchen appliances to Pc Richard.

I signed up for a workshop to make a grilling caddy for 6:30 PM on 5÷19÷2016 at the Northern Blvd store. I received two email reminders, cleared my schedule and arrived 20 minutes early yay! I was very excited and looking forward to it because I wanted to learn basic stuff.
It turned out that it didn’t happen. Fifty minutes later, and past the starting time, I was advised by the individual who apparently was suppose to teach the thing, that he wasn’t aware that it was scheduled, anyway. I was so disappointed. I was disappointed that it wasn’t going to occur, disappointed that I cleared my schedule, and disappointed to waste my time.
Everyone was very cordial, friendly, and they offered me a discount on my purchase. I had only a few dollars with me, and no credit card since I didn’t want to be carrying that around during a class. (A month ago I had 80.00 stolen from my wallet in my office at my workplace and it has made me extra vigilant.) I was embarrassed to tell Philip that I didn’t have any money or credit cards with me to purchase what I would want right then. My husband came and rescued me. I guess I felt embarrassed by the whole thing, and felt like I had the word «Loser» written across my forehead.

This is a review relative to other home improvement stores. It isn’t a diatribe against big box stores, or an unrealistic incitement where I can’t believe not every employee knows everything about every department, or a complaint about how overworked their staff is when the weekends are packed. It is strictly against a yardstick of every other similar store I’ve been in.
THIS Home Depot is awful. Here are my experiences:
1. Departments never pick up their phones. Ever. Customer service is maybe 15%. If you want to know if they have a certain type of sod, cabling, flooring, or tool in stock, the only way to know is if you go to the store.
2. The stock is constantly a mess, particularly hardware. Someone (no idea who) dumps all the loose screws and washers in randomly so good luck finding anything. The drawers are not sorted at all. 50% of stock in other departments is damaged or open box, and the other 50% is in the wrong place. It takes you longer to find something in acceptable condition than the rest of the shopping experience.
3. Lumber is sold practically green. Very poor quality.
Then there’s all the stuff up above, too. If you need an associate, you have to walk all the way to customer service, wait for them to get paged, then walk all the way back. Staff is usually friendly, at least. But after going to this location at least 2 dozen times, it’s impossible to make a purchase here for anything other than building supplies, and thank god I have a car so I can go to the north Woodside location.

If I had written about this place ten or more years ago, I would have given it a one or two star review. My views have improved over the years.
There are a number of positives:
1 – the place is huge with an amazing selection of products. Whatever your home improvement needs, you will most probably find it here.
2 – large parking lot
3 – a pretty decent garden section, with a great selection of plants and garden supplies (soil, plant food, pots, etc.)
4 – long business hours – from 6 am to 11 pm Monday through Saturday, 7 am to 9 pm on Sunday.
Now for the negatives:
1 – the place is often a zoo. It is much better if you come very early or late, but expect crowds, including contractors who are buying supplies for a big job. You may have to spend time on a long, or slow-​moving, line.
2 – customer service here can be hit or miss. I have encountered workers who are extremely helpful (Hint: they will often have a line of people waiting to ask for help). However, I’ve also encountered people who have just given me a blank look.
I’m not sure if this Home Depot was really bad when I started going here, or if I just learned my way around here over the years so it doesn’t seem that bad. Anyway, it is a decent, if at times overwhelmingly confusing, place to get what you need for your home projects.

If I’d only worked with Howard in tile, this review would be 5 stars, but unfortunately, he only helped me after I demanded to see the manager twice.
I went to buy wooden or faux blinds for three large windows in my new apartment. I had been online and wanted to speak with an expert about quality, prices, and if they could be installed in large windows.
Claudette was the employee whom I initially spoke with about the blinds. Immediately upon asking for her assistance, she opened a large book to «Bali faux blinds» and told me to look there. I told her I’d already looked online and had a few questions, such as what are some of the differences between the faux and wooden blinds, etc. Before I could finish my sentence, she interrupted me and said, «It’s in the book.» Again, I told her I had a few questions about quality, prices, and window size. She again interrupted me and told me to look at the book. She was getting irritated with me, so I tried to explain what I already knew and what I needed from her (I’ve already looked online. My windows have metal frames. They are very large. Would the blinds sag?) She interrupted me again and told me to look at the book.
Finally, I said, «Claudette, I’m working really hard here to make a sale. Is there a problem with my questions?» She then began to argue with me about how helpful she was being (pointing to the book) and told me I had the problem. At this point, I asked if there was someone else I could work.
Her reply: «Nope.»
I told her I was going to see a manager about her attitude and lack of assistance.
Her reply: «Fine with me.»
At customer service, I asked for a manager and they brought me two other employees. They laughed when I described my experience and claimed it was a «woman thing.» One stayed and answered a few of my questions about the blinds, but I needed more help. They eventually brought me Howard from tile.
I knew Howard. He had sold me all my tile for my kitchen and two bathrooms a month ago. He answered all of my questions and took my order. He is not only knowledgeable (apparently in more than one area) but his customer service skills are impeccable.
Since I am not the only customer to complain about how we are treated in this store, perhaps management should ask their top employees, like Howard, to train the others in the art of making a sale.

Came here for some boxes for moving and tried asking people but like the last 100 people has said, everyone here is clueless and no one knows where anything is. How is that possible?
At least the store is big and they have a lot of stuff.

The Long Island City, Queens Home Depot Flooring Department has provided me with the worst customer service I have ever received! It’s like they don’t want to install my floor! They’ve measured, but it’s been almost a week and I still haven’t gotten a quote. I’ve spent more time calling countless people trying to get a quote than it would have taken them to install the floor! I will never purchase another item at Home Depot again! Stay away and don’t buy into their false advertising!!!
UPDATE: They sure dropped the ball on this one. Here it is more than one week later, and I still don’t have a quote because the person who they had measure my space isn’t supposed to measure commercial spaces??? Now I’m supposed to have someone else come measure? Keep in mind, it costs $ 35.00 just to have the floor measured! In the time that I’ve been waiting for a quote from Home Depot, I’ve had two other companies measure and give me quotes (each within less than a few hours actually), and I’ve scheduled an installation with one of those companies. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO HAVE A FLOOR INSTALLED BY HOME DEPOT!!! This was a total waste of time, energy, and money!

What happened to the Home Depot that I loved to hate? This weekend past I visited two HD locations and both experiences were fantastic. Virtually every HD staffer who saw me wandering the aisles seemingly aimless, approached me and asked if I needed help? In the instances where I said I needed help, these folks were in fact helpful! This is a 180 degree turnaround from how staff used to behave.
My experience in the past at HD was tantamount to playing hide and seek: the staff would hide while patrons would seek. The staff generally won because of home-​court advantage and customers would leave frustrated. Hopefully, this experience will remain in the distant past.
On my second visit I stopped by customer service with the new power-​tool I purchased from a different location. I asked them to help me insert the balance on a jigsaw. The customer service representative (CSR) asked me to follow her to power tools. She approached a gold-​chain clad older gentleman who was ‘cutting’ keys for other customers. The CSR explained my dilemma and he told her that the box came with instructions. This exchange was the only ‘chink’ in my experience.
Frustrated by his lack of cooperation she thought that we would try the tool rental department. She walked me over and explained what I needed to the two gentlemen behind the counter. Bother were very helpful! I’m angry at myself for not getting the CSR’s name and the names of those who helped me because I’d like to send a note of appreciation to the store manager.
In closing, I highly recommend two HD stores: Jackson Heights (25 Ave) and Woodside (Northern Blvd and 48^th St).

If you’re in need of character development, this is the Home Depot for you.
This Home Depot teaches self-​reliance.
The staff are few. And don’t get too excited if perchance you do see an orange apron — the information it provides has about a 65% probability of being accurate, and a 25% probability of being dead wrong and wasting a few minutes of your life.
This Home Depot teaches patience and strength in the face of adversity.
Me: I was told last time you don’t have samples of Colorhouse paint, and that’s why he mixed me the equivalent in Behr, but when I got home my ‘Slate 02′ was pink on the walls. But now I see several rows of Colorhouse samples.
Orange apron: Well, that’s why you aren’t supposed to make Behr samples for Colorhouse!
Me: I… I… OK.
The inventory is often thin and arbitrary. (Only one kind of dropcloth but a dozen types of tarp? OK.)

Absolutely the most horrendous experience of my life!
Went to Home Depot to purchase and have new flooring installed. When I had my measure done, the person who came never really walked on or inspected the floor, simply took measurements. I was given the measurements and was told I could go to the store and select my flooring. I selected laminate flooring which was suppose to be installed on 10÷17÷15. When the installers came, I was advised NOT to put down the laminate because my floor has several defects and the laminate wouldn’t last 6 months! He told me Home Depot should have advised me of the defects and suggest that laminate was NOT the proper flooring for my floor. Getting the materials picked up and having my Home Depot credit card credited was another nightmares.
Finally, I get to the store on 10÷28÷15 to select the proper type of flooring (vinyl). I explained I need the materials expedited and I was assured they would be. I was told the materials were shipped out 10÷30÷15 and I should have them soon. After several calls and having to involve the corporate offices because of other issues, I am told the flooring will be delivered to the store on 11÷9÷15. I schedule an installation on 11÷16÷15. When I call to confirm if my materials are there, I am told only ONE PIECE is in the store and the rest wasn’t shipped out until 11÷5÷15 and not scheduled to be received to the store until 11÷16÷15! Absolutely unacceptable! Again, I had to get the corporate offices involved, regional and national managers were involve. Even a corporate rep called the store and was treated poorly! I had the entire order cancelled and refunded.
In just 2 days I had better flooring selected and installed. I would NEVER recommend Home Depot for anything other than going there to get your own odds and ends. Absolutely terrible customer service! I can go on and on about the ignorance of the employees.
However, everyone I dealt with in the Corporate Offices were amazing! I will be sending them a letter of commendation.

This is where I go to get plants and succulents, and though I usually find good things, I feel that they are very unreliable. At times they have a lot of choice and great quality, but more often it feels like a war zone and get what you can, ’cause that’s all we have.
The quality control is not great, and that is probably a general note for Home Depot, and not only this location.
The employees, are from super nice and knowledgeable to total arrogant and proud. If I ask for some information, is that I haven’t find it on my on, and too often I am being responded to as if I was supposed to know where things are.
I’m a customer, and if the people working there don’t want to help, maybe they could go work somewhere else.

Need a place to get everything? This is the place!
It’s hard to find someone to ask for help, as the workers are usually running from one end of the store to the other.
No need to go to my local mom and pop shop any more, because Home Depot put them all out of business! Way to go big corp!

The worst customer service that I ever experienced at a Home Depot, I asked kindly a employee I believe his name was Harold or something where can I find the car section and he start arguing with me that I didn’t said car very rude ! Plus most employees don’t know where is what and what’s happening around .
You would expect from such a big store a little friendliness from the employees. I guess they have to much business coming their way. If you plan to visit the store don’t have to many expectation if you need help !

I have never met such terrible staff they have working there in my entire life. Had to talk to 6 different staff before someone was finally able to help me. Each staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful. I truly never knew that there could be this bad of service at a store whose main focus is to help you with projects etc.

I am at this location at least 2 times a week since I have a contracting company in NYC. I went tonight to buy 2 things and I saw one wasn’t on the shelf so I asked a guy (manager) Leon to check if he had the item in stock and he said no if it’s not on the shelf we don’t have it. So I got in my truck and was about to drive to glen dale NY 25min away and I checked there stock. There was 28 in stock so I went back inside and asked another guy for help. Luckily there was a guy (not even on the clock yet) he offered to help me find the product. So we went to the isle and I bought it. I can’t believe a manager of a store would just walk away and not even try to help.
Mean while a very nice guy offers to help me. Wish I remembered his name. I give him a 10 STAR but that manager gets a 1 star and he also got the store a 1 star for hiring him.

Terrible, terrible staff at this location. This Home Depot has the worst staff of any spree I have been in. They have no interest in helping and really rude. I have called this store 3 times and been HUNG UP ON before I even speak. I called because I had a specific question about custom doors and wanted to figure out if they cut doors. I went in person after not being able to speak with anyone and found out they did not/​would not cut doors.
It is a shame that this store is not under better management. You will be much better off paying a bit more and shopping at a local home goods store.

I ordered custom wooden blinds from here. I never experienced so many problems with shopping anywhere else ever before.
1) To start off, it took more than 2 hours just to complete the order at the store.
2) I chose to have the blinds delivered at the store and It took almost a month for them arrive at the store. I was told it would take two weeks. Also, no one from the store called even though the items were sitting at the store for a week.
3) I also paid for measurements and installations. Home Depot hires a third company for these services. The installers were supposed to call me within 48hrs after the blinds were picked up from the store. Obviously they didn’t call. When I did call the installation company after waiting 2 days, I was told to wait another 48hrs before someone would call me back.
It’s been over a month and I’m only half way through getting my blinds installed. I will never use any customized service from
This Home Depot. If I’m lucky, I will probably get the blinds installed after New Years

Came to buy a saw that was on their website for 269 usd. When I got to the store they said they can’t match the price. How can you not match the price of your own website.
Ended up paying 299. Bad advertisement.
