Tel-Aviv Car & Limousine Service

I don’t like to complain, but this service really people need to know about. The worst service of my life. The dispatcher was rude. The driver charged me in the beginning of the trip (I gave him a good tip before the service even started and I regret so much). The price was higher than the price was supposed to be (I have the paper that says $ 67 before tip. They charged me $ 81 before tip). They had picked me up from Newark and I needed to go Montclair. The driver was complaining all the time, very rude left me in the dark, by myself, while it was raining because as he told me «time is money». Perhaps knowing where you are going might help. Even when I tried to ask people where to go he blew them off like he just wanted to kick me out of the car. If you are going to do that (not the best business practice) then at the very least drop your passenger in a place that is secure and not in the rain.

Decided it was time to update my last review. Since Carmel charged me an additional $ 10 for my esa (8lb dog who was in his bag) I have reverted back to tel aviv. Since my last review I have used tel aviv a multitude of times. Each time the taxi was on time, clean and the driver courteous. I would give them the full five stars but am deducting one for my single bad experience.

Every time I call they’re fully booked for the day. What’s so great about a service that you can’t even use? :s
Maybe their fleet is small, or maybe they’re quite busy, but I suspect something.

Made the mistake of trying to choose a better car service than the local downtown one I usually use. However it is not better if they never show up! Called old faithful and they were there at the airport in 5 minutes. I’m apologized to old faithful for cheating, they forgave me…
I will never use Tel Aviv again.

After hearing good reviews about this company from trusted friends i decided to book with them. i booked a 4 door sedan on the website where it said all their cehicles were fairly new and they all looked nice on the website. when i arrived in new york there was no one waiting for me. i checked my confirmation email and in small print it said you had to call upon arrival,. so i called and 20 min later an older minivan pulled up with the # card they told me to look for. the driver spoke no english and the minivan was old and smelled funny. luckily he took me to my destination somehow. upon contacting their very condesending customer service they thried to tell me that it was my fault for booking the wrong thing when it very clearly said on my reservation 4 door sedan they offerered no compensation or apologies i cancelled my future reservation with them and i reccomend everyone else does as well. they are dial 7 limos just so you know

Called and confirmed a car for 1 in the morning after a night on the town in NYC. Called 2 hrs before supposed pickup to confirm once more as it was a busy night in the city and was assured all was well. At 1 AM no car was at the pick up point and I called and the dispatcher seemed confused and said I was booked for the afternoon not late night. Finding transit to a hotel in NJ at 1 AM on a freezing cold not was not fun. Don’t know what is up with this place but I would avoid them if you want to be assured of transit when hailing a cab will not guarantee you a ride home.

This is a preemptive review as I have not been picked up yet but these guys have incredible customer service.
Not only are they accepting reservations while seemingly nobody else is (because of the hurricane) but it was a pleasure on the phone. Up front about the price while making the reservation. Choice between standard & luxury. You can even pay ahead of time over the phone.
Now we’ll see how the ride /​punctuality is =P

I frequently use this service from NYC to area airports, and it’s been fine.
The other day, for the first time, I tried taking the service from an airport to a Manhattan address.
Upon my arrival (on a very cold night), I searched for my car outside the limo/​passenger pick-​up area. The car I had RESERVED on-​line was not there.
When I called the dispatch office, they asked «if I had called» to which, I replied, «NO,» as the reservation was already made on-​line.
The not-​so-​friendly Customer Service Rep said that I’m supposed to call from the airport, leaving me «car-​less» and subjecting me to a VERY long taxi line and causing me to waste time.
How is one to know to call from the airport? There are NO such instructions on the website nor on the confirmation page. And what’s the point of reserving on-​line if you have to call??!
Lousy service. Very disappointed. Don’t recommend them for Airport-​to-​City service. There are better ones out there for about the same $.

Booked a car to the airport the weekend of May 6 using their online service. When the car was 15 minutes late I called. I was told the car was five minutes away. After 5 minutes I called again and was told the car was 5 minutes away. OK, now we are talking about 30 minutes late for a pick up to the airport. I built in extra time but not this much! Spoke to the dispatcher and was told they were «doing the best they can.» Grabbed a yellow cab and made it to JFK no problem. I will never attempt to use this service again. Pay a couple bucks more and actually have the car show up.

These guys are awesome. Courteous and professional on the phone, they keep your details in their computer system so booking follow up trips are quick and easy. Give them your flight information and they’ll pick you up from the airport, no hassles, guy is waiting there for you.
Takes credit cards, no hassle.
Cars are clean, drivers are nice, know where to go.
One note I see is that they ask you if you want a luxury or standard card with a 20 $ difference, which I’ve done a few times but I have yet to see a standard that is not also luxury or a luxury that is anything more then a standard black car.
Anyhow — they are still awesome. I pretty much call, they pull my details, know who I am, give them my flight number. Boom, done.

My family hired Tel Aviv for a trip from Manhattan to JFK on Labor Day. The driver was on time and very professional until…
We got a flat tire on the Van Wyck Expressway. Rather than pull off the highway to a safe area, the driver parked the car on the median between two converging highways (the Van Wyck and another expressway). It was pitch dark (5am) and it took him 30 mins to fix the tire while cars raced by a few feet from my wife and two young daughters who sat in the car praying we weren’t going to get hit by a drunk or distracted driver who might not see us. It was a huge error in judgement on the part of the driver and I am hopeful that Tel Aviv will rectify this matter through training for all of their drivers.

I used then this morning to get from Astoria to JFK. They were on time, and the ride was pleasant.
Despite taking my credit card number and authorizing the transaction, the driver still had a bewildered look when I produced the card at my destination. 10 mins later he relays my number over the phone and says it’s okay. When I called Tel Aviv to ask what was going on, I was told «oh tell him to update his phone, or something».
Don’t rely on using credit with these guys.

I am in the van right now, he was late, were going 40 mph and it smells like Indian food because he has not taken the trash out if his car. Lame

I have used Tel Aviv twice now. The first was December 12^th, Newark to UES. The plane was delayed by an hour (1AM by the time I got out of customs), I called the 1800 number with a public pay phone by baggage claim and a spotless car was waiting outside in 5 minutes. I was home in less than 30 minutes. No real complaints though the clean and comfortable car did have a noticeable funk. A big plus was that the driver did not say a word other than «Hello, sir» and «Thank you, goodbye.»
Second time was JFK to UES. Driver was prompt. I told him my address and he responded that he already knew and the next thing I know Im going over the Triboro. He misheard/​misread 51^st for 91^st and I was a bit upset at the added time and the added toll charge. Left a dollar tip and he should consider himself lucky.
I will use them again in a week (and continue to use them) but make sure the address is correct.

I used Tel Aviv for NUMEROUS trips to JFK and LaGuaridia from the UES and from Astoria. Little to no problems.
Better for drop off than pick up.

Moderately and reasonably priced for a private car service to and from JFK. The only thing, though, is that I was told by other drivers at the airport that Tel Aviv drivers pick you up at the curb only so if it’s cold outside, as it was when I visited, it kind of sucks to have to go outside and look for a black towncar at nighttime.
And a thing about their ‘fleet’: the car I had looked a little shabby. Not damaged, but not polished, if anyone’s expecting that. Otherwise, a reliable option.

I called at 8:30 pm to get a car for 5 am the next morning. I knew getting up at 4:30 am would probably render me incapable of hailing my own cab. Plus I just wanted to be extra sure I’d get to the airport on time.
The driver showed up 5 minutes late, but had the car number in the window so I knew I was getting into the correct car and not a random black town car. The car was warm and comfortable and my driver was quiet but friendly. He got me to LaGuardia in 20 minutes (from the UWS), granted there was absolutely no traffic.
I paid by credit card, and the driver had to swipe it in the car. It cost $ 40 total with tip and toll. This really isn’t too bad considering my taxi ride home from LGA a few days later was $ 32.
I would definitely recommend them when you are worried about making a flight on time and hailing a cab at odd hours. I’m definitely going to use them to get to JFK for a Christmas Eve flight.

Please note, my bank account does not mirror that of The Donald. That being said, I would definitely allow myself to indulge in the luxury of a car service upon my return visits to NY after my experience with Tel-​Aviv Car & Limousine Service. A cousin provided me with food (Go Noodle!) and shelter for my last night in New York and recommended ordering a car for my unfortunately early flight home to Detroit, as opposed to flagging down a taxi on the street. I was worried about the price, and the reliability of a car service, but decided to trust her opinion. Including tip I paid $ 39 to LGA, which, while a bit more expensive than a cab ride, was TOTALLY worth it. The driver arrived in a swanky Lexus mini SUV — it looked brand new (nothing like new car smell to wake you up at 4 a.m.) — 5 minutes before the scheduled time. Besides offering me a quiet ride through the outskirts of town, he took a shorter route that cut the time significantly. Polite, punctual, polished, perfectly priced — you cannot go wrong with Tel-​Aviv.

This was the car service we used for our wedding. The car was nice and clean. I’m going to say that while the driver was very friendly, he didn’t have a lot of common sense. I sent him to pick up my parents at their hotel, but they (without telling me [not that I’m bitter]) went to the church on their own. I told the driver to be back to pick my ladies and I from the salon by 10:00 a.m., but he was still waiting for the ‘rents at the hotel. He didn’t call me, I had to call him and get him to come back.
Still, everything was fine and I can’t really complain.
