Very Disappointed ! We got butter chicken and it basicillly tasted like a bowl of tomato sauce… The Lamb korma was ok but did not taste like any type of korma I have ever tasted and I have had a few all over the world… Was not even the right color… Delivery time was excellent and delivery guy nice… Would not order again

This is the best indian takeout in the area so far! Speedy delivery, great portions, and is very tasty. We ordered chickens samosas, lamb rogan josh, chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. The tikka masala grew on me, it was more tomato-y than others i’ve had but I ended up loving it. I like indian food with some heat, but not too much that my eyes are watering and my tongue is on fire. I ordered one step below the spiciest and it still wasn’t spicy enough for me, so ill probably order it hot next time. This will be my new go to spot and recommend giving it a shot if your spot has become too inconsistent like ours had.

Have been to this place quite a few times. Good food and staff is friendly. I normally grab my lunch. Reasonably price and food is good. No many indian options nearby. This restaurant is boon

What a pleasant surprise! Walked in here while on a hunt for warm, affordable lunch — ended up being delicious! The dishes are Americanized, so pretty much not spicy, which may not suit every palate, but still flavorful and filling. I dream of returning for lunch!

Nice Thai ladies give great service. Food is so-so, take-out Indian but it hits the spot. Tons of delivery orders went out while I was eating in. I had the dinner combo #2 which is a-ok. Its super conveniently located 30 steps from the base of the subway entry.

Never did I want to write this, bc my husband and I always ordered from here. Tonight, everything was burnt. The saag paneer, the paratha, etc. We called and they offered to send a new one, we gave the burnt food back. Just to find out the saag still smelled of burnt smoke aka cigarette butt and the paratha still looking and tasting burnt. Nothing was edible and two hours later, I just want my dinner and money back.

This review is for take-out. I love this place and can eat from here everyday for lunch(and have been doing so). I love eating Chicken Tikka Masala, and for the longest time have been paying Manhattan prices($ 15 and above) for Chicken Tikka + Rice. This hole-in-the-wall Indian restaurant offers a lunch special from their buffet until 5pm. For about $ 7, you can get a meat dish + vegetables + rice + naan bread. The people who work here aren’t the sharpest or the friendliest, but they’re fast and get the job done. I can get in-n-out of here in less than 5 minutes– great if you’re craving Indian food on a short lunch break!

Only reviewing Raj’s after ordering once, but I think they’re still deserving of the four stars. Typical Indian fare I believe, but great prices, big portions and very friendly service. I came into the restaurant and the man at the front seemed intent on giving me some fast service. I only waited for like four minutes and he was still apologizing to me for the wait. Super fast. Also, I love that they have a brow rice option instead of just jasmine. Downsides are the somewhat dingy interior of the restaurant and the already prepared food that’s laid out is not super fresh and the sauce is very thick/creamy. Some might prefer that though.

Everything here was just ok. We ordered a masala, a vindaloo and a tandoori: the masala sauce was way too buttery and the vindaloo sauce was oddly sweet. All of the meat in each dish(mix of chicken and lamb) were very dry compared to so many other restaurants. On top of all this, the place took an hour to deliver 3 blocks away… Don’t think we’ll be ordering here again.

Easily the best Indian place in LIC that we have tried so far. The portions are huge. We ordered 2 dishes for the 2 of us and it was enough to last 2 meals easily. The flavor is lovely. Having seen the reviews about customer service at the restaurant itself I used seamless and it was great. The food was here in 30 mins. Definitely recommended.

This is a take out restaurant. The size of your local neighborhood Subways. The server was rude. As I’m looking at the selections available and the different combo choices he stared at me and said«Are going to order?» I thought that was pretty rude considering that I was the only customer(what’s the rush?). Anyhow, I ordered and to be honest I wasn’t impressed. The food is edible if you’re in a rush. But I’ve definitely had better and don’t plan to return. The rice was very hard and they serve small portions of meat and vegetables.

Food is good. But these people have to realize that we don’t live in a world where businesses can say take it or leave it to customers. Doesn’t work that way. Keep doing it too often and people are never going to come back. Starting with me. I called for delivery. First thing I hear is — we don’t deliver lunch buffet items. Wrong. There is another Indian place a couple of blocks away who does. What happens in this case? I go hungry? No. I eat something else? No. I eat Indian and I get the buffet delivered — FROM somewhere else. So. I said ok let me order ala carte. I ordered a paneer tikka and roti. Came to $ 12. I wanted a side order of saag paneer. Again a rude answer. We don’t do it. Order a full meal size worth $ 9. For lunch? Really? Anyway. If you are ok with taking what’s available then I guess this place is ok. NYC is a foodies’ heaven. We definitely don’t need to hear no three times in 5 minutes. Many more options out there.

What an undervalued little gem. I went there the other night. Always liked their goat curry. But the lamb Biryani they made that night was seriously one of the best I’ve ever had. In and outside of India. Very freshly made. Fresh herbs. Very aromatic. Totally overate. And dishes are only about 10 bucks a pop. They seem to be mainly a take-out kinda place and can get REALLY excite when you dine there. They actually have very cute table ware. Oh — if you order ‘hot aka spicy’ they mean it. Their lunch buffet is edible but not at the same level.

Their Dal Tarka is one of my all-time favorite dishes! All of their dishes are amazing though and I’ve ordered most of them over the past two years off Seamless. Be careful with their chicken vindaloo and picking ‘HOT’ for your spice level. My Indian friend described it as not just spicy but Indian spicy. So it’s damned spicy lol but also damned good. From my own experiences, it burns going down, and again several hours later. Delivery is quick and my food always arrives piping hot. My only complaint would be that there isn’t always enough rice and their naan was burnt on several occasions. I love this place though and I will be sad when I move away next year.

This review is based on the takeaway service, we have not been to the restaurant. Ordered via the Seamless app and food arrived promptly about 30 mins later. We ordered an all day delivery special that came with a vegetable samosa, Lamb Vindaloo and a drink. We also ordered a Lamb Pasanda & a naan bread. I had read reviews about the small portion of rice that you get, but we found is sufficient and a good amount of meat. The curry dishes were nice, not nothing to write home, the meat was tender and seemed lean, but the Pasanda was a bit oily. It served its purpose of a craving for Indian food.

«Curry Express» This a Grubhub delivery favorite of mine for indian food. I order from Raj about 3 – 4 times a month and typically delivery takes about 45 min from LIC to Roosevelt Island. I have yet to have any issues with the delivery *knocking on wood*. The restaurant actually provides large servings of food; often I have leftovers for the next day. The chicken tikka masala is Great! There is something with the tomato sauce that goes very well with the seasoned chicken. While we are on sauces, I feel that the restaurant has so much sauce on the dishes and sometimes skimp on the meat … But many places do that. However, Raj does have an great delivery special for 14 bucks that include different choices for an appetizer, an entrée, and a drink or dessert. The 6 piece Chicken Tikka is an healthier option on the menu. I wish that they would give you a couple more pieces or a side of rice for a couple extra bucks but at least the chicken is white meat This place is highly recommended for delivery.

After a long weekend I needed some hearty food delivered to my door. Raj’s was the perfect choice. Fresh garlic naan, veggie samosas and a large portion of chicken tikka masala. The portion size is huge, I would suggest ordering extra rice if you want enough for two people. The delivery was quick and easy. A perfect choice if you’re craving Indian food in the LIC area!

I think I just found my new favorite Indian spot! It was a cold and lazy afternoon so my bf and I decided to order delivery and wow were they speedy. The woman on the phone estimated the delivery time to be around 30 min(pretty normal for indian food) but fifteen minutes in we heard a knock at our door. MAJOR brownie points! Okay on to the mouthwatering food. Vegetable Samoas — Crisp flaky exterior and packed with potatoes and peas. Very flavorful and comes with a few sauces. Lamb Rojan Josh — I ordered this based on the review of another Unilocaler and boy was it delicious. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the sauce was thick with a nice kick. Chicken Tikka Masala — This one surprised me in a good way. I’ve had my fair share of chicken tikka masala and this one is definitely on the sweeter side but the sauce which was rich blend of cream and spice had a nice kick of heat in it which I wasn’t expecting. The heat definitely helped balance out the sweetness. Garlic Naan — Delicious! Basmati Rice — Came with each of our dishes and was standard… nothing too fancy here QUICKTIP — When ordering you can choose your level of spiciness. Mild, Medium, or Hot. We ordered the medium which gave everything a nice amount of heat without overpowering the dish. The portions were quite generous and we were able to have enough leftovers for dinner as well. We will definitely be adding Raj to our«Go To» list for take-out.

Just okay. Chicken tikka masala is tasty, but has a sweetness factor to it which doesn’t quite… Suit my fancy. Otherwise the sauce is tasty and the chicken is yum. Good portion size for two. Prices on Unilocal are outdated. About $ 10. Comes with(very) small rice. Samosa chat. I’ve… Definitely had better. It’s okay. Not much to say about it, wish I didn’t order it. Mango lassi. Not bad. It’s got a strangely artificial coloring to it though. Looks like this place is a cafeteria style when I came to pick up my take out with a few booths. Wouldn’t take a date here by any means but might be a good place to grab and go.
