Cute little spot two blocks away from my office, seating for about 10 inside. Fresh pastries looked amazing but my mother and I both opted for the pulled pork sandwich with cheddar and a side of fries. I asked for a side of feta to throw on top of them also. We ordered the Food to go and it took about 20 minutes to come out which was a little too long to us. The bread was a bit hard, as my mom said she would have preffered the sandwich on a soft roll or hamburger bun. We both liked the flavor of the sandwhich and the fries were tasty. Was upset that they didnt have any soups — maybe next time.

A lovely café spot in my temporary hood. Great sandwich and friendly service. I heard the breakfast was very good, meant to try it on Thursday, but the place opened slightly later than 8 am, and I got to run. Will try it again. By adding $ 1.50 you can add either a salad or fries. Or $ 3 for both I guess. I tried the salad, it was good. The dressing is balanced. Will be back.

I’ve walked past this place a handful of times and had a good feeling so just knew I had to try it. Today’s the day and I was right, this place is a lil gem right and it’s right around the corner from my house. I ordered breakfast, bacon, egg & cheese on a multigrain croissant… Yup you heard that right, multigrain croissant!!! You can tell the owner takes pride in his business. The service was pleasant, the atmosphere is cool and the place is spotless. Can’t wait to come back for lunch:)

Friend and I came in here for the first time for a quick inexpensive Saturday morning breakfast before some holiday shopping. This place is an inviting, not so over the top, casual place to come in for a quick bite or hang out with your laptop and get some work done. The sunlight poured in and made this quaint lunchbox seem even more bright and spacious. The service was polite and accommodating by the staff behind the counter. There is no table service, but once you place your order at the counter, they’ll bring it to you if you plan on staying. You pay at the register after you’re done. We both ordered breakfast sandwiches to our liking. While everything tasted fresh and well prepared, we both agreed the food was bland and lacked basic seasoning which I was a little disappointed by. Especially since my friend trusts me to always select a great spot to eat! All said and done, I will give this establishment another try. We have to show some love and support to the smaller, off the beaten path, local businesses!

Had the pulled pork sandwich and it was probably among the best I’ve ever had. I considered subbing the regular toast bread or whatever it comes on with ciabatta but I left it as is and I have no regrets. The chipotle mayo combined with the barbecue flavor on the pork hit the palette like Chris Brown did Rihanna’s face. It felt right at the time, but as everyone knows, this kind of behavior(meal — pulled pork) never feels right an hour later. I’m kidding, i actually felt perfectly fine and the portion was rather delectably satisfying as opposed to being too little or too much that I felt like there was a brick in my stomach. Definitely a worthwhile spot to check out even though it’s a bit out of the way.

Very good wraps and they are friendly. Service was quick. I had the multi grain wrap with turkey. It was delicious. The menu is pretty large and offered many options and substitutions. I would come here again for sure !

Delicious breakfast! I wanted a straight forward breakfast with potatoes, whole grain toast and eggs like I was able to get back home and I got exactly what I was craving – and for a very fair price too! On top of all that the interior of the shop has a very clean, new, modern feel and they have a nostalgic, school lunchroom vibe with their plastic trays. Was it just me or is that what they are going for? Either way, for me it was the icing on the cake. I will be back for my next classic breakfast hankering!

Great food, fresh and high quality ingredients. I do find the plates a bit greasy as I am very health conscious, so I always order light on oil. My favorites are the Portabello mushroom sandwich and the chicken sandwich. always on point. I live half a block away and i come here every week. The place is very modern and clean. Chris is a very nice guy and the lady behind the counter is also very cute.

Love supporting local businesses and this place scores big points for cuteness and friendly service. I think I should have tried it for lunch rather than breakfast however. The home fries felt like they might have come from a frozen package rather than chopped fresh. I could be wrong, but something was off with those. The cheese in the omelet was Velveeta. Opting for some real shredded cheddar would be an improvement. And that last point right there kind of captures my whole take on the place. Just make a few tweaks and food upgrades and it’ll really start to shine as local go-to. Fresh OJ instead of boxed. Real cheese instead of cheese product. Fresh potatoes. Et cetera. Stuff like that and you got 4 stars. A+ for cute and cozy factor.

A friendly place that does a great breakfast. The chef knows his eggs and the bread rolls are so fresh. I haven’t tried the pulled pork sandwich but will definitely return especially after the guy next to me ordered it. It smelled and looked delicious. Only 4 tables and a dinner style bar counter. Even though it’s short on sit down space the place is very clean. Friendly staff and they do a lot of food to go. Highly recommended for a quick stop and grab.

The service here is great. We got our food within 10 minutes. Their omelette is pretty solid. It’s a little runny which I love. The home fries were good as well — definitely spiced with either nutmeg or cinnamon. But the toast, man. The toast. So. Good. Sourdough bread realness. We also ordered the cheese pastry. While I wasn’t a huge fan of it, my boyfriend certainly was. He finished it in only a matter of minutes. I just wish it came hot. There’s 4 small tables to sit at, which makes it cozy. The pricing is VERY affordable, especially for Astoria. Would definitely come back here!

The Lunchbox is a very quaint breakfast/lunch spot. It has limited seating, but it doesn’t stop people from taking a moment to chat. My youngest daughter had oatmeal and a chocolate croissant. She loved both. The oatmeal came with honey mixed in. When she mentioned cinnamon, the nice cashier/owner(Chris?) offered to get her some. My oldest daughter had a mini turkey sandwich. She enjoyed hers as well. I opted for the brisket sandwich and it was delicious! I was very pleased. Everyone was super nice and the coffee is good. I would highly recommend stopping here.

We tried the pull pork sandwich, it wasn’t dry like how other people commented. It tasted fine. I had the brisket sandwich the meat was great, a little too much butter on my bread but still it was good. The bakery stuff wasn’t so good. I had a plain crossaint that tasted dry. The almond crossaint was ok after I asked them to toast it. The place is very clean. 4 small tables and a tiny bathroom. I had to admit I was thrown off to tip or not to. The plastic silverware was self serve, and we picked up our first order of food, but the guy brought us our sandwiches and didn’t check in on us again. We cleaned the table and dumped the trays out. So I honestly had to text 6 people to see if it was necessary to leave a tip or not on the table. I got thrown off with him bringing out a tray for us.

Great little place for a quiet breakfast. The egg platter was reasonably priced and very well seasoned. Delicious. There’s only 4 small tables so you might be out of luck finding a seat if it’s busy. Customer service is on point.

I actually stopped by here by accident as I was heading to a different lunch spot. I happened to be walking in this direction, and recognized the name from browsing Unilocal previously. I was hesitant on breaking my routine as I had already been walking for 20 minutes to find a satisfying lunch, but decided to take the risk and make it an adventure since it looked curiously promising and oddly out of place around the car repair shops. It’s a small, brightly lit café with a clean, simple, kitchen-type look. There’s no flashy gimmick behind the theme, just a simple lunch menu of salads and sandwiches yet still satisfying. I ordered the turkey avocado sandwich with a side salad and an iced latte. The sandwich was yummy with fresh ingredients, a flavorful sauce. The salad was refreshing. I didn’t feel disgustingly full afterwards. Even more, I really enjoyed my latte, I have to say. I try not to drink coffee often, but I really enjoyed the taste of it. I found myself wanting a latte the next day. Overall the price was a tad more than what you might pay for in a deli, but considering the quality of the ingredients — I’m okay with that. The staff was very friendly, as well! I’m glad to have finally found a new lunch spot in the neighborhood. Keep it up and I’ll be back!

Omg… the sandwiches are so good! The hot chocolate is very good. I have ordered a grilled cheese and a pulled pork sandwich! The spicy mayo is rocking and everything in the sandwich goes so well together. Yummmmy.

In a commercial world, this place is a diamond in the rough. A very modern and vibrant little café-ish vibe in the middle of a world of flashy car dealerships, retail, and apartments. The few times I’ve been here, the sandwiches, salads, pastries, coffee and drinks were all great. I want to give a shout out to my lunch lineup today which is my favorite so far. Ssooooooo delicious. Pulled pork sandwich and(without onions cuz I don’t like onions) and nescafe frappé. OMG. Once the plate comes, you can see the pulled pork oozing out of the sandwich and you have to remind yourself you’re in public and you can’t just stuff the whole thing into your mouth. Pork is soft and tender and probably good just by itself. But mix it with the spicy mayo and honey BBQ sauce and it takes an ordinary pulled pork sandwich to another level. Frappé was very refreshing. Having a Cypriot boyfriend, I can say this frappé was legit. Boyfriend had the mama’s burger and fries. I had a bite and it was very good too– has more flavor than your traditional American burger. Other great mentionables I’ve tried: chocolate chip cookies, brownies, chocolate croissants, sausage sandwich, brisket sandwich, and citrus salad.

Live around the corner and and checked it out when they opened. From the décor, I was hoping it would be a great new coffee spot. Something like Kickshaw on Broadway. Well, it definitely isn’t. I was disappointed, and haven’t been back since. The food is probably very tasty as so many have written… Once I get over my initial coffee disappointment, I’m gonna head back and try their goodies.

We saw this place on the corner and it seemed to have fresh look, different. Have you ever been watching TV and you see a sandwich and you’re like where can I possibly get a sandwich that looks like that not only on TV but when I actually go to the restaurant… This is such a place. Although my pictures may not do the food justice the flavor of the sandwiches are unreal. The combinations of flavors in each sandwich is awesome. We had the brisket sandwich, the chicken sandwich and the meatloaf like burger to eat. To drink we had an Arnold Palmer to drink which is lemonade and iced tea together pretty good. Try it out you’ll definitely like this place. Chris and the girl at the counter are really pleasant. Props to the chef in the back also. Good luck.

I hate to be the person to say bad things about a new business, I am all about supporting local businesses, I would rather go further to a mom and pop shop over going a block away to an Olive Garden any day. But if you serve an inferior product, I will give my two cents. I think the setup is great and very inviting. It seems like a cool place to grab lunch, enjoy a coffee and pastries, etc. With that sad, I was underwhelmed by the quality of the baked goods and the sandwich I had. I know a new business takes time to work out the kinks, but I was disappointed The food: Brownie– The brownie was pre-wrapped at the counter. The brownie was weird, it should have been softer, not sure if it was old or not, it also had this off putting aftertaste. I didn’t like it. Chocolate Chip Cookie– I think the cookie was too flat and weirdly enough, it was oddly chewy and crunchy at the same time. Pulled Pork– honey BBQ pork, extra sharp Vermont cheddar, sliced onions & spicy mayo on white sourdough. The pulled pork was dry and on the chewy side. The cheddar, onion and spicy mayo were great. The sourdough was oddly hard.
