History

Established in 2010.

Long Island City Academy of Music, the first music school in LIC, was established to address the area’s growing desire for music education of the finest quality. We offer instrumental and vocal instruction across a wide variety of genres at affordable rates and at convenient hours, so that students can commit to regular lessons and achieve their dreams.

Business Owner

Oliver Sohngen, founder of The Long Island City Academy of Music, has a Masters of Music from The Cleveland Institute of Music. He has performed at Lincoln Center, Styriarte Festival, One World Symphony and Caramoor. His students appear at Carnegie Hall, Regina Opera and gain entrance to major conservatories such as Mannes, Manhattan School of Music and Berklee.
