My daughter recently got married at the nearby Metropolitan building and all 10 people in the wedding party included the bride had our hair done here best decision ever from up dos to curly down we looked amazing this salon opened early to accomadate us and it was a blast being all there together. Thanks again Kikka salon.

WARNING: they overcharge new customers! As a new mom I was looking for a salon in my neighborhood and tried Kika because of the good reviews. The haircut I received by William was a pretty good cut (I desperately needed a cut so I’m glad they fit me in on a busy Saturday). He was very brusk, fast, and didn’t even show me the back of my cut. On checkout they charged me $ 80 even though it says $ 50 online and below another patron says its $ 60 for a cut and dry. Its a pretty no frills salon, so feel really ripped off and will not be returning.

William cut my hair and he did SUCH a great job! He was like «i’m going to give u the best layers ever!» and he actually did. My hair looks so much better. My last haircutter didn’t get enough of the dead ends off, so I tried Kika and am very pleased. I will be back! Definitely recommend WIlliam for long layers.

Just had my hair done by William at Kika salon. I moved to Long Island city in December and didn’t have my hair colored or cut in 4 months. William was great knew just what to do. He gave me a touch up, highlights and a haircut. I am so happy with the result, feel like a knew woman. Thanks William and Kika salons great staff. Will be back.

I have been a long time customer! It’s the best hair salon outside those high end places in the city that would over charge you on a mediocre job done. Kika has the best stylists and the best colorists. They can do anything there! I would never stray from Ana! Love them all!

I love this place. I personally go to see Leah. She is wonderful to work with and a lovely personality. She was with me when I decided to go big and cut off my long hair for a pixie cut… first making sure that I really wanted to do that as it was a drastic change, and then really working with me to make sure it was exactly how I wanted it.
I also recommended them to my sister-​in-​law and her nephews after they saw my haircut and were truly impressed with how beautiful it was. Though they did not get Leah, I believe they got Ashli, and they loved her. My nephew was growing out his hair for Locks of Love, but in the process he learned to love his long hair and was having trouble with the idea of cutting it. Ashli was able to think of a haircut that he would like but still cut off a good amount of the length, which he then donated.
Truthfully I’ve seen cheaper haircuts offered at other places, but cheapest isn’t always the best. I feel this place is great quality at a very fair price and I am very happy to keep going here! They charge $ 50 for wash, cut, and style/​blow dry. I always make sure to tip Leah well on top of that, but that’s just my personal preference.
I believe they do take walk ins but I heavily recommend making an appointment. They tend to get booked up very quickly, especially on the weekends. (Just goes to show how good/​popular they are).

She listened to what I wanted and executed it perfectly. I have gotten so many compliments.
I will be returning for a balyage ASAP. She is also very friendly and the prices are great.

Ana and Leah were wonderful to work with even though they knew we were not local residents. They listened to what we wanted and worked with our requests and fine-​tuned the hair styles from the practice session to the actual «big-​day».
Leah actually repaired a bad cut I came in with so that the styling really came out modern and fresh and I felt lovely, not matronly.

I moved to LIC this past summer, went to Kika Hair Design once for a haircut with Leah, and will definitely be going back regularly. My haircut looked great, cost $ 50, and what I loved most about my cut here was how well Leah communicated what she was doing with my hair and why. I’ve been slowly growing out a pixie cut toward a chin-​length bob over the past year, getting regular cuts to keep the shape from looking ridiculous, and I’m still waiting for short layers to grow out. Leah gave me the proto-​bob that I wanted and explained the shape that she was going for and really understood what I wanted. She’s very skilled & also lovely to talk to. Very happy to have found this place.

A wonderful and capable group of people in all areas: hair, nails, facials, etc. I happen to see Ashli for an awesome guy’s cut, but I see everyone leaving looking pretty fantastic (They’re often smiling too).

Leah was so lovely! Came in for my god awful split ends, and she gave me a fresh cut that made me feel like a new woman! The staff was so friendly, and I was taken right at my appointment time. Beautiful salon, clean atmosphere. Absolutely loved it and will definitely be back. Awesome price for NYC!

I’ve been getting my hair cut by Ashley for 4 years now. She’s amazing! I will never go to another salon as long as I live in New York. They’re all really friendly and nice in there, and my hair cut only costs $ 50. Tips are cash only, so make sure you stop by the ATM first.

What a great experience! I totally recommend Kika Hair Design, and feel that I finally found my go-​to salon in New York. I went there to get my highlights done after having a disappointing experience at a different salon. I have naturally dark brown hair and I also get Japanese straightening every few months. My hair is very fragile due to the chemical straightening so I was a bit worried coming into the salon. I also didn’t want the highlights to come out brassy like last time. Anna is so nice and friendly, and took the time to listen to what I want and look at different pictures. She put something in the bleach that kept my hair protected, and worked on my hair for five hours until she got it to the perfect shade! I left very content — my hair was lighter (and not brassy) and it was soo smooth and soft! I got compliments from my boyfriend and friends. Will definitely come back. BTW, I came to this salon after I saw my friend’s hair that looked really nice. Her assistant is also very sweet and talented, and they work very well together.

Ashely is terrific with our young son and his hair always comes out looking really nice.

I have come back several times for hair cuts and have always been pleased. Today, however, I finally stopped in for the $ 25 mani/​pedi deal (Tuesdays and Thursdays) and can’t believe I waited so long!
I had a fantastically relaxing pedicure and superb manicure! What’s more, I called this morning and they were able to do both just a few hours later. It was a great way to spend my lunch hour. My feet feel great and my nails look so great. I was SO happy with my services today and as usual, all of the ladies were supremely friendly. Thanks so much!
I love having Kika so close to home and will definitely be coming back on Tuesdays and/​or Thursdays in the future. I can’t wait to bring my friends, too!

I am taking a moment today to share some reviews of a few of my favorite places in LIC and this Kika’s is one of them. I met Anna (the owner) when I went to get my hair cut at the suggestion of one of my friends in LIC. I got a haircut that was amazing but even more important was how Anna makes you feel. She is warm, sincere and talented. That combined with her great eye leaves me with a great cut each time… the perfect swing. I feel a bit like a commercial each time I walk out.
I also must give a shout out to Leah! She fit me last minute the day before my brother’s wedding one day. I am forever grateful. The cut was so good that I let it air dry (was running really late) and it looked amazing anyway… now that is a good cut.

Great place for men’s haircuts! I got one of the best haircuts I’ve ever had for less than $ 40 (including tip). Entire staff is really nice and it seemed like a good environment. This will definitely be my new shape up spot!

I needed a haircut and thought of trying one of the few salons in the LIC area. I saw Kika on Unilocal,read the reviews, and decided to give it a shot. I called and was able to get an appointment the same day. After a 5 minute walk I arrived at the salon and was introduced to Leah, who was super lovely! She was genuinely interested in what I do for a living and made my visit extremely comfortable. Not only that, she gave me a great haircut, exactly what I wanted, a trim with long layers and side bangs, ending with a sleek blowout. Since I had my professional photos done at work today, I felt amazing! To top it off, my colleagues complimented my hair all day! Thank you, Leah! I think this may turn out to be my local haircut spot :)

This place literally saved me! I had a hair emergency and the hair stylist came in EARLY to work just to fit me in because they were full that day.
They were so nice, I loved this place. Totally recommend it!
