I was going to say«one of a kind finds!» but I realized that basically can be said for any antique item. But, seriously, there are things in this store you wouldn’t typically find in an antique shop like a traffic light, penny-farthing bicycle, beaver gauntlets, taxidermy alligator and more! You can also browse on their etsy shop( ) although not every item is listed there, so I recommend looking in person. I had to have the 1938 pull-down world map on the back wall. Owners Meg & Matt were super nice & let me put down a deposit until I could bring in enough cash to pay. Plus, I got a good deal on it. Meg is very friendly. She & I discussed the 1927 house we are in the process of buying & the particular items we are looking to fill it with. Meg said she’d keep a look out for these things, so if you are looking for something, definitely let the owners know! They also offer furniture made from vintage pieces like the table in one of the Unilocal photos I posted– you can see where floor boards met the piece of wood used to build the table. It’s a really cute shop in a great location. Definitely make a visit next time you’re in downtown Long Grove. They aren’t open on Mondays or Tuesdays, but said they can arrange a time to open the shop if needed with a simple request. A shop like this is always an adventure to visit. You never know what you can find!
