Had a craving for grilled octopus so I stopped in. I live in Sussex coun type. There is 1 pseudo Greek place. The food is amazing so I thought I would get the same here. Yes, the octopus was delicious. Grilled perfect so it wasn’t chewy or like rubber. However, as another reviewer pointed out, the food should be fresh… not out of a jar like the beets are. The beet salad was around $ 6, but would have been better for a dollar more if they were fresh and had more than onion on top(I asked for some feta which«helped»). With a little more effort and not taking for granted they have an awesome summer business, this place could be five stars.

Greek food should be an expression of fresh ingredients and a celebration of flavor. Regrettably this restaurant can’t seem to consistently deliver either. Our party visited this local BYOB several times and each time was disappointed with several dishes which on other times had been delicious. Greek salad was oily and the vegetables were crudely cut into chunks without rhyme or reason. Hummus was watery and flavorless. Fish was either swimming in sauce or perfectly grilled but old tasting. There were times that it was fresh tasting but it wasn’t consistent. From my years of dining in restaurants all over the world it’s evident the kitchen and the owners just are tired and churn out food without too much pride in it. This place could be so much better — I truly think they need a Gordon Ramsey makeover as there is potential but they just don’t care.

Seriously, this was awful! I think the family and employees wrote the reviews everything is over grilled all you can taste is smoky grilled taste in the squid, and chicken. Do not order those chips egg plant large thick cut pieces of of breaded goo The chicken was so dry we could barely chew it totally overrated do not recommend this restaurant really sorry to say Last time we will go there

This place is great. It gets very crowded and sometimes there is a long wait for a table. The owner once told me that the kitchen has more than enough capacity so that if you call in an order it can be ready in only 10 or 15 minutes. I tried it and he was right. They serve some seafood items that you don’t often see like fried fresh anchovies and grilled calamari which were both excellent. The spinach rice was a delicious accompaniment to the entrees as was the roasted potatoes. Fish and meat entrees have always been very good.

I loved this place. The food was delicious, the service prompt, professional, and polite. I will definitely be back again and again. I live in Toms River and was in Long Branch on business and in my opinion it would be worth the 25 minute drive from home any time for this great restaurant. Enjoy!

Been here a few times when I’m in the area for work. Overall they do a nice job. Food is very good(although the Taztiki has too much garlic). Décor is nothing special but the liquor store next door helps. They do a nice job with the menu offerings. I eat Greek all the time and this is a keeper.

Terrific dining experience in a strip mall in Ling Branch(and with a Hoffman’s Ice Cream next door!). I ordered their seafood special — grilled octopus, calamari, and shrimp — and my wife ordered the cod. Nice portions, VERY tasty, all around. The saganaki appetizer was also excellent.

Our waiter was not very personable. My daughter ordered her salad without onions and it came loaded with onions and missing lettuce. He never checked back in with us to see if we needed anything. Another waiter asked if we wanted more bread but never brought it to our table. Pastitsio was good but spicy. Won’t be going back solely due to poor service.

Kind of overpriced in a, utilitarian kind of haunt. Food was good. Service punctual but the bill hit the table with a thud. 1 appetizer, 2 main courses, no booze $ 70. A lot for a little. Maybe I’m spoiled by Greeks in NYC area. Astoria is little Athens

A great greek restaurant! BYOB. I usually go with the gyro sandwich or the greek salad with gyro meat on top. The meat is very flavorful and cooked to perfection with just enough crisp to it. The service is always on top of their game. The grilled bread that they give out as well is great. Always recommend to anyone looking for a greek restaurant in the area.

I can’t tell you how many times I have eaten there. But what I can say is that every time I have eaten there it has been picture perfect. Highly recommended.

Nikos Trapezi is a hidden gem tucked away in the Ursula Plaza Shopping Center on Ocean Avenue in beautiful Long Branch, New Jersey, just down the road from Pier Village and the Ocean Place Resort and Spa. We came here with my family for Mothers Day last weekend. My kids, especially my son who is a super picky eater — loved the poikilia dips with fresh pita & grilled calamari, while my daughter raved over the fried zucchini chips with skordalia(garlic) dip. The kids entrees are so generous, for a very reasonable price. The adults loved the seafood platter entrées: the grilled calamari, shrimp, lobster, and flounder were so fresh and flavorful, with Greek style rice pilaf and grilled vegetables. The Greek style lemony potatoes were flavorful, creamy and not too salty. Dessert and Greek coffees were also out of this world, everyone loved the Ek-Mek Kataiyifi(bird’s nest with honey, walnuts and fresh whipped cream), the Galaktoboureko(custard with phyllo), and the Baklava, so fresh and delicious. Overall, the prices were so reasonable — especially when one considers the generous portions this restaurant provides. The décor was simple but festively Greek without overkill. The service was excellent, with very efficient, friendly, and courteous staff who knew that menu inside and out, in 2 languages! B.Y.O.B., and there is a liquor store right next door. As a Greek cook myself, I was truly impressed and enjoyed the whole dining experience. We will return again, just loved it! :-)

We have been enjoying Nikos since they opened. Married to a Greek-American and both frequent visitors to Greece – we have found the best traditional Greek at the Jersey Shore at Nikos. Their traditional dishes are excellent. The tzatziki has a great bite, hearty and moist moussaka and pastitsio and my personal favorite the fasolakia(green beans stewed with tomatoes and garlic). All appetizer portions large enough to share. We also LOVE their Tourkoliamano – shrimp with feta and sherry. Get plenty of bread to soak up the sauce! We also enjoy the ability to eat at our own pace – not rushed through our courses –as we enjoy when in Greece. BYOB also a great plus.

This is some serious home cooking. I’m convinced that they live in the back of the restaurant and yiayia is just cooking with greek herbs and spices and a wooden spoon. Had the lamb and kalamari app and both were excellent. Also had a spanakopita to go and that was great too.

A Greek Gem at the Jersey Shore! I didn’t know what to expect as we approached this restaurant in a strip mall near the beach. I had read the excellent reviews and was looking forward to a nice Greek dinner. What a delightful surprise! We started out with a four dip assortment of taramosalata, melintzanosalata, skordalia and tzadziki sauce. What wonderful, authentic dishes! Just like my grandmother used to make! For dinner, I had shrimp and artichokes in a wine and lemon sauce. Heavenly! Can’t wait to go back and try some more Aegean delicacies!

Grilled octopus was properly done but the vinaigrette was a bit bland for my taste. The sliced roast lamb was plentiful, moist and tender. Again a bit bland. Service and ambiance are excellent for this strip mall restaurant. Lemon soup was good, olives and bread on table are a nice touch. Tsaziki serving was generous but they overdid the garlic. I would go back to try other dishes

Fantastic! Food was authentic and the service was fabulous. We started with the eggplant dip and humus with pita. We also had Saganaki which was perfectly grilled. The specials were great. I had shrimp and artichoke in a lemon white sauce. Very delicious. There is a wine store next door which is very convenient to pick up your favorite wine. This place is a must if you are in the area. Can’t wait to come back.
