The Pet Set

We had a very nice experience for our first time coming here. We had to board our boxer (Amber) here for 18 days & got to watch her daily while on our vacation via their doggie cam on their website. Prices were very reasonable & staff very friendly.

I love this place — feel so comfortable leaving my dogs in their care — Kristie is training our hyper active Rocco and the difference in his behavior is unbelievable — the entire staff is so friendly — great place for your pets

Speechless! A week after my update on 11÷8÷15. I finally received an email saying my emails could not be found and to forward them to him, I am assuming the owner. So, I did! I followed up with an email a week later asking if he received them and what was being done. I have heard NOTHING! I also posted a bad review on their FB page & NOTHING! PLEASE consider my experience before leaving your pets here for the holidays. It has been almost 4 months and it is obvious that this business does not care about their customers or the poor treatment of my dogs. In my opinion.

This place is awesome! My husband and I always take our 2 dogs here; Bosley and Baxter! The staff is friendly too. I like how you can watch the dogs on the puppy camera. This is our go to place! I recommend Pet Set to anyone!

My Golden has never been boarded until this year at Pet Set. He likes it so much the last visit he couldn’t wait and jumped out the car window in their parking lot.
Pet Set is the best

This place is literally 5 stars no exaggeration! All the staff here are very nice and friendly! I come in they welcome my dog and I and give off a warm comfortable vibe. They are very professional and skilled at what they do! Ive been a customer here for about a year now! Never had any problems. All of my visits have been wonderful. I think they are the best!!! Most importantly my dog loves them! I don’t really like leaving my dog places for hours at a time but at the pet set I feel super comfortable because when I return my dog is happy, tail wagging and ears pointed up! He always come home looking and smelling good! Especially with the scarfs they give him! They’re so cute on him.

I took my dogs there after running as fast as I could from Petsmart, see my review. Anyway, they did a wonderful job, they were very professional, experienced groomers, I totally recommend this groomer, thank you Petset.

Awesome facility. My kitties really like the kitty hotel and the one-​on-​one time that they get everyday. I can hardly keep ginger from her spa day at the pet set. she comes home with a nice close clip, smelling good, her nails trimmed and with a cool bandana sometimes…
I dont have a dog, but The dog area is so cool with the splash pads and other activities … a lot of care and attention went into this place.

I took my cats into get washed while my house was tented for termites. I have a long haired cat and a Siamese mix. When I found out that the hotel I was staying at was not pet friendly. I then decided to board them there for the two days of getting tented. The cats seemed well taken care of. The problem that I have was that they did not brush out my long hair cat after the bath. He now has knots in his hair underneath his belly. I am probably not bring them back for a washing again. I even messages the business and still did not get an answer from the business so I decide to write the review now.

I have only used their doggie day care services. They are personable and take great care of my dogs. Frequently, I watch them on the doggie cam and my dogs seem to be having fun… I know when I drop them off they never look back.lol. The only reason I did not give them a five is because when their shot record had expired, they did not ask me for a new one. I had to share it with them. I mentioned that it is important to keep up with that. All of the personal there seems to genuinely care about dogs…

We now have 2 Ridgebacks that come here. They love it, we love it. The people who work there are very caring and take such good care of my girls. They know their personalities. They know my dogs and have come through in a pinch more than once.

Been taking my Wheaton terrier here for several years now and he loves going. He seems happy to arrive and happy when picked up. It took a couple of times to figure out what to tell them about cutting his hair, ie– no teddy bear face, leave a little beard, but now they know and he looks great. Staff is always friendly and I always get a call when he is ready.

My rowdy, high-​energy, husky and I have been coming to Pet Set for about a year now? And yes, when Appa comes home he is somewhat calmer, but who am I kidding… he’s still bouncing off the walls.
I was unhappy with previous daycares for multiple reasons: the dogs were in one room inside all day, the dogs were not separated by size, he came home with CUTS and had to get stitches! They also told me he was playing too rough with the smaller dogs. :(It was pretty bad… so I knew what I wanted when I was looking for a new daycare.
Fortunately, I found The Pet Set down the street from my house. I called to register and test Appa and they gave me a tour of the facility. Very clean, colorful, and welcoming!
PROS:
— Dogs are separated by size. There is a large play area for small dogs and a larger one for the big boys (or girls). I really wanted this because I didn’t want Appa harming smaller dogs by playing too rough.
— There is an indoor area and outdoor play area! And a gazebo! And sprinklers! Wish they had a pool. That would be awesome because Appa loves the water. Cameras are a big plus, I could watch him play all day.
— Prices are fair. Can’t complain. $ 25 for a full day 7am-​7pm or 8am-​8pm (weekends). Which brings me to hours, LOVE that I can schedule to pick-​up my dog late on weekends. And they provide care on holidays. Not that I like to send him on holidays, but sometimes I’m out of town and I know he’ll be happier playing with friends.
— Staff is friendly and cordial! They keep a smile on their face even as Appa drags them across the room. Shout out to Stella, she’s incredibly friendly, informative, and you can tell she loves her job.
— Overnight boarding. Love it. $ 45 a night. Kennels/​rooms are big and clean. They provide high-​quality food or you can provide your own food. They’ve never lost any of his belongings and are happy to give any meds. They’re also really good at accommodating any last-​minute boarding requests.
— Grooming. I’ve sent Appa for daycare/​boarding and have also had him groomed the same day. He comes home soft and fluffy, nails are cut, ears are clean, and he smells great. Now if only he could stay clean.
— Most importantly, I have never picked up Appa with any injuries, bite marks, or cuts. I know dogs can play rough and the occasional mark is expected, but honestly I haven’t seen one on him. He’s never contracted kennel cough or fleas or anything like that and I hope he continues to come home healthy and happy!
CONS:
— Parking can be a bit tough and busy sometimes, but its not a huge problem.
Other than that, no other cons I can think of!
OVERALL:
Appa is happy. I am happy. So glad I found this place because I don’t have to leave him home alone all the time and he can socialize and play all he wants. I’ve heard great things about Kristi the trainer and I plan on getting him some much needed training soon! Great job Pet Set, please continue what you’re doing!

My boyfriend brought our pup Leroy here the week after we got him. He went to daycare for two days, somewhere within his 2 visits he contracted worms and giardia. We spent Thanksgiving weekend at the vet, 250 dollars later our baby started feeling better again. I would recommend taking your pup to a daycare with less dogs and more staff, where they can really get the attention they deserve!

I said keep my senior citizens together!
The cams go down often. No cams on the night time beds.
They are not fed what i say. Grr!
They were separated. When brought together they did this adorable hugging thing where they rubbed their noses around each others necks. Sooo cute. Two kids who hate each other at home.

I wanted to like this place. It was close to home and not overly expensive. Unfortunately, it was extremely disappointing. I left my precious 4 legged son there for 4 days. It was his first time away from the family, EVER! I dropped him off in great health (with up to date vaccinations) and an overnight bag filled with his favorite food, meaty bone, and his favorite snugly — 2 socks tied together (one sock belonging to me, and the other sock belonging to my son). When I picked him up (4 days later) his meaty bone had never been opened. As a matter of fact, it looked like nothing from his bag had been given to him, and he was sick (eyes oozing in the corners). He walked out of there so pitiful looking, and I felt like the worse person in the world. I thought maybe he had an allergy to something, but after a few miserable nights of him dry heaving and his eyes almost completely shut, I took him to the vet and found out he had Kennel Cough. After spending almost $ 300 at Pet Set, I had to spend another $ 300 for antibiotics, eye drops, etc. Needless to say, I was upset. I called them to ask how he could have gotten sick if they had their «so called» proof of vaccination rule in place. Their answer was, «It’s like the flu and there was no way to prevent it». That was news to me! They weren’t very apologetic, and they didn’t even attempt to make ammends. Plus, they had no excuse for why they hadn’t given him his treats or toy.
All and all, it was an awful experience for all of us, and, until they become more humane, I will NEVER give them my business. If they had show even the slightest amount of remorse I might have chalked this up as «just one bad situation «and I might have tried them, at least, one more time, but they had my money and they were done.
They should be ashamed.

I appreciate the establishments response to remind me that my incident took place in 2012. I wish I were more Unilocal savvy back then. The problem for me is that every single time I drive by Pet Set, I am reminded of that awful experience, and it donned on me that I had never shared my story with other concerned pet owners (thank goodness for Unilocal). I get a bad taste in my mouth every time I see it. Since that event we have not gone on vacation in the past 2 years due to fear of who we can trust, and who will do what they say they will do when it comes to our pet.
I hope it’s true that Pet Set’s procedures have changed.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would.
I have 2 small dogs a 4lb multipoo (tons of curls) and a 10lb wired haired terrier (crazy dog who won’t sit still), my dogs always come back looking like super stars!!! With my last groomer I would have to make my appointments a month and advance and I have never had to do that here. I called The Pet Set on Sunday to make and appoitment (thinking there would be no groomers on staff) but to my surprise there were groomers on staff and they took me with in 30mins of my call. My dogs were done in about an 1 ½ hours so that means they didn’t have to sit in a canal ALLL day like PETCO!!!

The prices are great; I used to pay over $ 175 for both dogs and here it ALOT CHEAPER with better service.

I love The Pet Set!!! More importantly, our Edna, loves The Pet Set!!! This is the best place to take your dog for doggy day care, for training and for grooming. Everyone of the team members are super sweet and very professional. You can tell that everyone loves their job and more importantly love the customers and the pets. I would not take my dog or cats anywhere but The Pet Set. If your puppy needs training, Kristi is the best. Edna absolutely loves her and so do we. She is amazing! I love their team members and I love their facility. This is the place your dog or cat wants to be when they can’t be with you.

Shortish story: my dogs were there for an overnight while we were out of town. That evening I was watching on the doggie cam from their website and saw one of the staff members grab my 20 pound adult dog by either the neck or collar (hard to tell by the camera), stand straight up lifting my dog off the ground and at this man’s waist level. He proceeded to hold him that way and walk at least 6 – 8 feet… and off camera… with my dog by the neck. I didn’t know what happened, if he was hurt, what occurred after my dog was off camera… It was about 5:40p and after hours so nobody would answer the phone, and minutes later all the dogs were cleared out of the play areas for bed time so my dog never came back into view. I spent the whole night waiting for them to open so I could get someone on the phone to make sure he was ok and ensure that this person was no where near my dog until we could back to town to get him.
Longer version: before this guy carried my dog off by the neck, I watched him be rough with even smaller dogs than mine (though not as dramatically as what he did to my dog), he stood up against the fence of the area he was supervising and banged back and forth against it, he charged at some of the dogs with his arms outstretched which could’ve been trying to play but the dogs cowered and skirted away from him. Basically he looked bored and unhappy with his job and was taking it out on our pets rather than doing his job to supervise and protect them. I don’t know what happened to instigate this man carrying my dog by the neck, but my dog has never bit or been aggressive with people or other dogs. We’ve had him since he was a puppy and we go to the dog beach and dog parks weekly, he’s very well socialized. He’s a little dog with a 65 lb. doggie brother and is used to playing with the big boys so I know he could get a little rough, but nothing to justify the treatment he received. When I did reach staff the following morning they seemed appropriately upset by what I described, but their video is a live stream so they didn’t even have the ability to review it to see the conduct of their employee. That morning I spoke to the brother of the owner who assured me that they would confirm who the employee involved was and that the owner would call us back the following day. When we picked him up, they didn’t charge us for his stay which was a nice gesture. The owner did call me the next day and assured me that the employee would be «disciplined.» I wish they had a video because I can’t believe that they would trust their clients’ loved ones to this person if they had seen for themselves what he’d done. I suppose I give them credit for having a camera at all, but it’s still concerning that we are monitoring their staff better than they are and that they would even consider continuing to employee someone who jeopardizes the safety of the dogs and their business in this manner. I was watching the video for less than 5 minutes, what are the chances of me seeing what I did if it was an isolated incident? All of the other Pet Set staff that I’ve interacted with and that I’ve seen interact with my dogs have been beyond fabulous and the management/​owner did seem appropriately concerned about the incident, but be aware that they did not tell me that this employee was going to be terminated. They were going to look into it further and let me know, but I haven’t heard back. As many amazing staff members as there are at the Pet Set, I would NOT recommend entrusting your dogs to their daycare as long as this person is still employed by them.
