Of course, we also offer more advanced improv classes for you seasoned pros out there!
The Long Beach Improv Collective also produces improv and sketch comedy shows throughout the Long Beach area — you can see LBIC shows at The Mirage Mediterranean Grill and Brix at the Shore every month!

History
Established in 2014.
The Long Beach Improv Collective (LBIC) is dedicated to the grand notion that everyone can improv/e their life through the skills learned in improv comedy — and we are here to help you do just that!
In our oh-so-humble opinion, the more people who teach, learn and practice improv, the better the world will be. With that in mind, we decided to create a local improv «hub» in Long Beach offering improv classes, as well as promoting improv shows and performance opportunities throughout the greater Long Beach area.
There’s no need to drive all the way to Hollywood, when there are AWESOME improv classes and shows conveniently located in Long Beach, right smack in the middle between LA and Orange County!
Meet the Business Owner
Sonnjea B.
Business Owner
Starting with zero performance background, Sonnjea discovered improv comedy as a means of overcoming shyness and writer’s block. When she saw how well it worked in those areas, she decided to apply improv comedy skills to the rest of her life — and to help others do the same!
A graduate of the Second City Director’s Program (with additional improv training from Second City, Groundlings and UCB), she brings a unique, ridiculously upbeat and supportive approach to improv comedy instruction and to helping students apply improv to their daily lives.
Besides teaching improv, Sonnjea is a writer and directs improv and sketch comedy shows, including monthly improv shows in Long Beach. She recently created and directed The Late Show Show, a fully improvised late-night talk show that played to standing room only crowds.
