Awesome place! Awesome dentist! Awesome staff… Especially for wimps like me.
I’m one of those people that wait for something to go wrong before seeing a dentist, so I did my research and found this place on Unilocal.After calling the office, as well as all the other local offices with good Unilocal reviews, I decided to go with Smile the Spa because they seemed super friendly right off the bat, and their prices are MUCH more reasonable than the other places (I don’t have insurance; I had to pay out of pocket).
I’m 28 years old and have always avoided going to the dentist, but after my first couple of visits with Dr. Terra, I can totally see myself going for routinely checkups.
Dr. Terra and his staff are amazing! They made me feel VERY comfortable during a not-​so comfortable situation. I told them I was a wimp, so the hygienist offered me an iPod to listen to soothing music while they drilled. I’ve never tried that and it actually helped tremendously! I was so comfortable at times caught myself slowly closing my mouth during the producer

Julio Terra is by far the best dentist I have EVER been to. (Not lying, Unilocal!) He and his team are genuine, friendly, know their business and make you feel like family. Wish I had know about his practice when I moved to Long Beach 5 years ago! I am probably not the only one that has a hard time when the time comes to see the dentist, but this time around was a big deal. My front tooth had a big fracture and I already had major work done on my other teeth. I was very afraid thinking about all the work that needed to be done and the cost. My friend told me about Dr. Julio Terra, she also had some major work done with him and she really liked him… and I was impressed by her beautiful smile. I made an appointment that same day and I saw him 3 days later. He was very nice and knowledgeable, he explained what I need it to have done and Lisa at the front desk went over the paper work and cost. It was not small project and it was going to take some coordinating, but they made some accommodations and we started the job a week later. It has been 3 months now, since the job was done and I wanted to wait before I wrote this review to make sure I know how I felt. Well… I love it, Dr. Julio Terra is a very talented dentist, he is extremely gentle and he really cares. It took about 2 months from beginning to end and he checked on me all the way through it. He even called me a couple of times to see how I was doing. I have visited many dentists in my years and I have to say that Dr. Terra has been the best dentist I have ever had. I felt secure with his experience, professionalism and his bedside manor was impeccable. I am very glad I found him and his staff. Thank you Dr. Terra, for giving my smile back.

«SMILE» is the perfect name for Dr Julio’s dental spa. I usually didn’t smile much or smiled with my teeth hidden because i didn’t feel confident about the way it looked. After visiting his office, receiving dental care and procedure, things have changed. I smile more and look happier, even my coworkers notice it. These results are not the only reason I give him «5 starts». His skill, professionalism, great advice, his considerate and friendliness along with super nice and friendly staffs make me feel comfortable. I hope you are as happy with your dentist as I am now.

Awesome! Throw your dentist fears aside. It’s got «Spa» in the name, and they try to make it feel that way. Never more than one patient in the waiting room, and a nice, damp warm cloth after every visit to wipe your face down. Will never go to another dentist!

Great experience start-​to-​finish. Wonderful environment, great tech, skilled professionals, and super friendly. I saw another reviewer noted that he actually fell asleep in during work. Glad to know I wasn’t the only one! I’ve never been more impressed or at ease in a dental work situation than I was at Smile the Spa. Well done folks.

He has a great personality and is very professional. He makes you feel very welcome and at home every time you visit. Cannot say enough great things about Dr. Terra, the staff and the office. It is relaxing, like a spa and Dr. Terra is amazing, I broke a tooth and Dr. Terra took me in within 24 hours, fixed my tooth back to perfection without any pain or discomfort. I am planning to return for my cleaning and all maintenance. Oh if you don’t have dental insurance, they are very reasonable and accommodating.

For over 15 years, i have been with the same Dentist. I love my Dentist and i have followed him around. I have to admit, that i cheated couple of times. There’s a time that, i don’t have insurance and can’t afford to see him. But I keep coming back to him. One reason he’s very compassionate and over the years, being a patient for a long time, i have build up some personal friendship with my dentist. He’s not only my dentist but he became part of my life.
I know Dr. Julio Terra for couple years to a friend. My friend of mine, who introduce and told me, he’s a cosmetic dentist that specialize in veneers, implants, invisalign, and whitening.
I’v done some cosmetic such whitening, bridges and I’m always been curious about invisalign, veneers. So I went to Dr. Julio Terra for just consultation and a regular cleaning. Still a little bit skeptical, because I know I’m cheating again with my dentist. Its such hard decision after so many years to find someone, that your going to be comfortable with.
After, having my such great experience with Dr. Terra it took me a week to finally said yes I’m ready to give him a chance to do my veneers after the consultation and he explain, what would be best for me, weather I should do veneers or invisalign. I decide to do veneers after he help me, narrowing my options.
Dr. Julio Terra is such amazing talent when it comes to cosmetic. After trusting him to do my veneers, i can’t even stop looking a my teeth after putting my permanent veneers. Its so funny because when i had my temporary i was depress because, i feel like having a denture haha…
Now! that i have the real one, I feel so… happy with my results. The color and the fitting are so. natural. I love it…
My overall experience with Smile the spa and with very friendly staff Dena and Elizabeth there are very professional. I would definitely comeback for more cosmetic needs in the future.
