We carry men’s and women’s surf clothing, wetsuits, accessories, leashes, fins, new and used surfboards. Seventh Wave is your official local headquarters for Stamps Surfboards. If you are searching for ding repair services in Long Beach, we do that too! It doesn’t matter if it’s your very first day of surfing or if you’re an old salty surfer, we welcome all to our shop!

History

Established in 2013.

The history of Seventh Wave Surf Shop starts over 30 years ago, way before the store opened its doors. Owner Debbie Brooks wanted to create an environment where the Long Beach community and it’s surfers can come together, hang out, play music in the shop, and talk story about their mutual love for the ocean. Seventh Wave welcomes all types of surfers and ocean lovers. It doesn’t matter if you shortboard, longboard, ride a SUP, or love body surfing… Seventh Wave strives to be your local surf shop.

What’s with the name, «Seventh Wave»? Well, Debbie’s father was a great waterman who also shared a love for the ocean. She recalls her father talking about the «seventh wave»… In fact, it’s old sailor and surfer folklore that the seventh wave is the biggest wave of the set. So the name stuck… Seventh Wave Surf Shop was born!

Seventh Wave surf shop owner, Debbie Brooks, has been a Long Beach resident since 1977. She has great childhood memories of visiting her Grandmother, who also lived in Long Beach. In 1978, Debbie opened West Coast Volkswagen, a repair shop for classic and new Volkswagens. Living in Long Beach, Debbie spent her mornings surfing North Orange County beaches and spent her days wrenching on classic VW’s. Both Volkswagens and surfing has been her passion for over 30 years, and the other life long passion, surfing, was about to turn into something special. Debbie mentions, «Long Beach has great surfers… and the city needs a great surf shop.»

Cool spot! Having a surf shop in Long Beach is «killer brah» and I definitely need to go here more.
The tail of my board was split open and also had several small dings on the rail and nose, but the gal in the shop said it would be an easy fix and they took care of it for me with great results. When I picked up the board, I also bought a new stomp pad, and picked up a few stickers from the shop.
Now I’ve got to get back there and buy a t-​shirt or somethin’! Long Beach surfers should all support this place.

I was bored one day, left my friends house, and went for a walk. Low and behold I stumble across the only true surf shop in Long Beach. I have been going all over LA/​OC for surfboards, repairs, clothing, etc. From now on seventh wave will be my first stop. I’ve found really cool local clothing, had 3 boards fixed, purchased a variety of surf gear, and just a good time going into this shop. Any time I know I’m gonna pass by I’ll stop in to chat and see what’s new inside. Kelli the owner is awesome. She is very chill and easy to talk to. GO in and support this awesome local long beach surf shop.

Brought two of my boards in to get fixed two weeks ago. Kel was able to professionally repair these within a week and a half (which is very fast considering the damage). I was really impressed with the results, and could tell she cares a lot about her clients. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for quality gear, friendly and professional ownership, and quality repair services.

Why go to HB or Laguna?
Come to Seventh Wave near the beach in the LBC. This shop has so many dope t-​shirts and boards. Come here and spend a little scratch and chill with the crew here. Kelly is great and super informative. Spend some ducats here and get stoked.
Don’t half step. Come here for kid’s gear, rather than going to the big tobacco of surf shops.

Wanted to support my local surf shop and seventhwave is the only local shop in lb so I decided to swing by and check them out… To be honest I wasn’t expecting much, but man… I’m stoked that I did step into the shop. Kelli is awesome, she gave me a run down of each board she had in stock. She made me feel so welcomed at her shop. I left my info with her so that she would let me know if and when the type of board I was looking for came in… Literally an hour maybe 2 hours later she calls me notifying me of a board that she just got a hold of and that I should come check it out. Talk about awesome service!!! Long story short she hooked me up with an awesome board w/​travel bag+leash at an even more AWESOME price.
Seventhwave will definitely be my 1st option for my surfing needs… And for whoever reads this review looking for a surf shop. I def recommend checking this shop out 1st. You won’t be disappointed. Plus it’s always good to support your local shops!

THE ONLY TRUE SURF SHOP IN LONG BEACH!
The owner is fantastic and really knows what she’s talking about. I only came in for a few small things, but I know for sure that I’ll be coming back. There was a good collection of boards and some really cool clothing brands. More than anything, super open and friendly customer service that makes this spot really unique.

I’ve been stopping in here once a month to check out the boards on the rack and the rare shirts i just dont find anywhere else. Kelli and her staff are knowledgeable, very helpful and always willing to talk story about the surf and the city. They got me all excited to get on one of these Tim Stamps boards. I like to support local shops and shapers and this shop is a good example of why.

Like the fabled phoenix, 7th Wave rises from the ashes of the Shelter Surf shop (
) to become the LBC’s sole surf shop. A suitable replacement is here now carried along by the «7th wave», the largest wave in the set.
Kelli, the owner, knows the business and her desire to have a surf shop in town finally realized. Providing all the gear necessary for a day in the surf, you can find new and used surfboards, wetsuits, leashes, wax, cool beach attire, art and books to read about surfing when you’re not getting wet.
Do you know that Long Beach used to be called «The Waikiki of the West Coast»? You can see why, at one time, it certainly applied. Long Beach still has all the potential to be a great surfing location and, dare I say even a «World-​Class destination»?. We have miles of sandy beaches with everything a surfer could want in food, drink, parking and housing. We could be «THE beach town» of Southern California, if we only had waves.(
) With our location so near to major airports and freeways with all the accommodations available, the biggest contests (i.e., OP Pro, Roxy) could easily be managed here. So the 7th Wave are big on supporting the Surfrider Foundation and the reconfiguration or removal of the LB breakwater that would return the waves to our shores. We COULD be the Waikiki of the mainland again.
Kelli’s got big plans for the shop. Expect live music, film showings, surf-​art themed events, prize giveaways and food trucks, fun people and that great California-​style «aloha» spirit.
(I’d love to hear them singing «Surfin’ in Long Beach… Ventura, County Line…» etc.)

This shop is what you expect out of a surf shop. Great products and great service. The people working are always friendly and they always have the time to talk surf with you. They know the products they carry know what they’re talking about. It’s so nice to have a shop like this back in the LBC. I wish i could buy everything in this shop. You can bet that my next board purchase will definitely be a Stamps deck from 7th Wave. Keep up the good work.
