They did an impeccable job tailor my suit pants. They turned an oversized, outdated cut into a tailored, tapered finished product. Thank you!

Took a bridesmaid dress in, had good ratings. The dress had to be taken in at the top and a hem, he couldn’t figure out how to take it the top and added a hook. Looks terrible.
Originally wanted to charge me 100 $, I negotiated it to 50 $, he saw that I was unhappy about the top and kept saying «there was nothing he could do, but to take it somewhere else»
Paid 40 $ for the hem. Now I have to find a second place to fix the top, never experienced a place where they just gave up.

Reliable and solid workmanship.
The shop is always open according to the hours posted.
My garments are always ready on time and finished perfectly. This was never the case with the previous tailor I used.
Parking: Two or three metered spots in front of the shop. There is a very small lot behind the shop which is technically for the restaurant on the corner, but I have never had an issue parking there for just a few minutes.
Location: On 7^th between Long Beach Blvd and Locust Ave, across the street from Taco Bell.

Mr sandoval is the best! His works dont look like i had it tailored yet they fit me like i am cinderella in her glass shoes!

This Tailor shop was referred to me by Trumaker. I had purchased a blazer and had lost some weight while in the process. They had Sandoval’s on their list. So it was a referral.
Parking is parking when it comes to that area. However its right in front. The shop is small and yet it has a sitting area and two dressing rooms. The tailors there are courteous as they greeted me instantly. I had explain why I was there and they understood. They did my fitting and measured it for reference so I can send it back to Trumaker. After that was done I grabbed my jeans from the car and asked him for a hem and taper.
Returning a week after the fit of the blazer and the jeans were just right. It was way better than my previous tailor in Cerritos. I am very pleased.
A bad tailor can make a $ 1,000 feel like a $ 100 suit and a great tailor can make a $ 100 suit fell like a $ 1000 suit.

Got a patch sewn on to a gi for jujitsu. They did a great job! Super fair price and very friendly customer service. I was able to get it a day before they told me it would be ready. I’m definitely gonna keep this place in mind for any of my tailoring needs.

I was in a pinch to get some uniform pants hemmed last night right before closing time. I called them up and he told me he would do it right away, come on it. I walked in, he measured them up and I was out in 10 minutes. It is a good sturdy hem and, and I couldn’t have been happier for his help. Highly recommended.

I have had several of my suits tailored at Sandoval’s and I must say Mr. Sandoval does an excellent job every time! I have tried various tailors throughout the area and Sandoval’s is by far the best. It is a bit on the pricer side, but I don’t mind the extra premium since I am confident in the quality of his work. I will continue to bring my suits to Mr. Sandoval for as long as he remains in business.

Mr. Sandoval is the best tailor in Long Beach. I have been using his services since 1990 when I was still in college and THOUGHT I knew fashion. He has altered dozens of suits, pants, coats and other items during this time. He has also advised me to NOT alter some items that would not fit my shape or style.
He is one of the few tailors in the are that makes custom suits as well. We are not talking cheap fabric either, his cloth selections are the best.
Keep going to Nordstrom’s or Macy’s in house «tailor» if you want basic alterations. Make the trek to Mr. Sandoval if you want to step your game up.

I had a suit custom-​made for me a few years ago (relevant, I swear). Over the years I’ve gained enough weight to make it no longer possible to wear this suit — but it was too nice to give away and tricky to sell a custom. As a last ditch effort I brought it by this shop. Because it’s custom, there wasn’t a lot of wiggle room with extra fabric to let the pants or jacket out and I knew that. And one look at me trying it on and he knew it as well. He undid a few stitches to see if it may be possible, thought it would be, quoted me a reasonable rate for how difficult the job was going to be (in my opinion). Less than a week later I had a brand new suit. Frickin miracle worker, thanks!

Fair pricing and great work.

Im a procrastinator, but I get things done… Eventually.
So my best friend is getting on saturday, so its thursday and I still havent got my dressed hemmed. Im really short, so its not like I can do tape. Anyways, my plan was to drive to Down town L. A and get done in a few hours at a great price, however laziness got the best of me. I didnt want to drive to L. A& pay $ 15 bucks for parking, so I looked toward Unilocal for a place.
So I came in with my dress to ask if they can have my dress ready by the next day, which he said he could, but I guess he is really not used to doing dresses, so luckily for me he recommended going next door. Which I did. The lady next door charged me much less and would have it ready the same day! He could have just told me he wouldnt do it as others have said, but I appreciate the referral.

Still the best been going here for nearly 20 years and despite the fact that I now live nearly an hour away i still bypass the tailors at Nordstrom and go straight to Jose /​the guy is a miracle worker and deliver on the latest tailoring trends… old world expertise combined with an appreciation for modern trends… kudos to Jose and his staff they very much deserve all the praise they get

This guy is awesome at his craft — let’s state the facts but has such an arrogant attitude! If you don’t care about the customer service and just want a great job on your clothes– he’s your man! I will need to find someone else because I expect both and yes, I’m willing to pay the price for excellent customer service and a great job!
Here’s what happened, my husband has taken him clothes over the last year and loved his work! I decided to take my skirt that needed a ton of work. When I walked in, he decided to tell me he would be too expensive and I should take it else where and suggested a cheaper option. Most may think that’s really thoughtful. I personally didn’t take it that way at all. I didn’t care about the price, I went to see him because I knew he was great and wanted him to do it. I wasn’t seeking cheaper options. I was never even given a chance to make the decision, he just assumed that this girl was either to cheap or too poor to pay for it. I thanked him for his time and asked him what the price would be as I walked out to the place he suggested.
Sad part was, I thought the price he finally decided to quote me was reasonable based on what needed to be done. I just opted not to say anything.
Listen, I know small businesses need to run and require them to price accordingly so I get it and I’m happy to pay to keep them here! I just wish he would have not been so quick to assume I wouldn’t want to pay.
I am torn writing this review because I do think his work is fabulous but disappointed by his approach.
I can’t give him 5 stars because I was disappointed and walked out with my skirt in hand and I unfortunately, won’t be back.

Great value! Salvador tailors my husband’s and father’s suits and they have have come out just the way they wanted. He’s very kind and listens very well. We will definitely come back for any other men’s tailoring needs. My only wish is that they did women’s alterations.

I went to this place based on reviews. The guy does excellent work. It is a little higher in price than other tailors but the results are good. He’s quick and knows what he’s doing. He quoted me one price but was willing to go down a few bucks.

I found Sandoval’s in January 2013 after a search of tailors in Long Beach.
I was in desperate need to tailor two suits in time for a conference in Detroit a week later. Even though I needed one of the suits back in a few days, he worked with me to get it done.
The result? EXCELLENT quality alterations. I was so impressed with not only the short timeframe but outstanding work. A true professional and very friendly to boot.
I was so impressed I’ve recommended him time and again to people looking for a tailor.
This is definitely the place I plan to take all of my alterations from here on out. I moved further away and will still make the trip — so worth it.

I am very pleased with Sandoval for tailoring my Kenneth Cole suit. I went in and he asked me what I wanted from the tailoring and told him I wanted it to be sized to slim fit. My suit was already fitted but needed to be tailored exactly to my body. I used the suit for my engagement photoshoot. Definitely recommend Sandoval for his service.

Sandoval understands what a suit should look like on a man. He has been in the business for over 20 years, and he is very well acquainted with changing styles and trends. I have brought three suits to him, and each one received its own particular adjustments based on his recommendations and approved by me. He was also fast, and very polite.
He was also able to fix some damage that one of my suits had sustained, where it appeared that some fraying would shortly result in a hole.
Highly recommended.

–Work done:
I purchased a suit that fit me decently right off the rack from JCrew several months back. Since my purchase though — I’ve lost nearly 20 lbs. So not only was the sleeves of the jacket initially long for me in the first place, the chest and waist were way too loose.
So while putting the jacket on in front of the mirror in the shop, he nodded to me and said «this won’t be a problem, but what are you looking for additionally?». This question my friends, is where it’s important to KNOW what you want! I like my suits very slim, very close to the body. So that’s what I told him. He pinched the rear of the jacket in small increments until I told him «there!» — he pinned it to keep it in place. This goes for the sleeve length as well. We talked about pricing, and told me I could pick it up on Saturday (I dropped it off on a Wednesday).
–The Result
I’m nothing short of satisfied, and impressed. He helped me put the jacket on in the shop, checked it out in the mirror, and it’s exactly what I wanted. When I got home, I double checked the stitching, alignment, buttons, etc. And I couldn’t find any wrong. I’ll definitely be bringing my suits here from now on.

As a person, he’s absolutely delightful. I’m somewhat picky about my tailor — of course quality of work is important, but so is attitude. I’ve had my fair share of tailors who gave attitudes about how I’d want a more slimmer alteration to my jackets, but not Mr Sandoval. His prices are reasonable and fair.
