I started going to Monica after my mom convinced me I needed to go to her because she swore she was the best! She was definitely right and I keep coming back! She gives me the bright, natural blonde look that I’m always striving for with balayage! I would highly highly recommend her for anything from blonde balayage to dark all over color (like what my mom gets). Go see her you won’t regret it!

First time coming to Salon Monroe and I love my hair! Thank you soooo much Monica! You are awesome! So worth it. I loved the experience. Monica was so sweet. Love how a stylist gets to know her clients. I am definitely coming back. I think I just found my go to person.

This new space is so cute! I used to go to Bella Salon when Robyn was there and of course I had to follow her to her new space. I’ve been with her since the start of my color transformation and have been more than happy at every end result. Definitely bring pictures so Robyn can get an idea of how far you want to push your hair (especially going blonde) so she can realistically tell you if we can get there in this session or if the color will work with your skin tone. I trust her opinion… after all she is the professional. My sessions with her are usually at least 4 hours long since my hair takes forever to lift, but Robyn is a total sweet heart and conversations with her are always the best! She gets booked very quickly so don’t forget to schedule your next session with her once you’re in her chair !!! Can’t wait to see you again!

I’ve had my hair done by Robyn twice now and I feel so blessed to have found her! I came to her originally after having my hair practically ruined by an inexperienced stylist and I had about 4 inches of regrowth. I was terrified to have anyone touch my hair again! But, as soon as I met Robyn for a consultation and she started breaking down true hair science and using words like Smudge, Balayage and Olaplex I knew I found someone who knew what they were talking about! Since then my hair just keeps getting healthier and prettier (if I may be so confident) and I can’t thank her enough.
When passion meets education and experience — it doesn’t get better than that.

About two years ago I decided I wanted to color my hair for the first time since High School. After deciding that I wanted to try balayage, I scoured Unilocal and found Robyn. What I wasn’t expecting to find was a color expert and literally the best stylist I’ve ever had!
Robyn knows her s**t. She is well versed in current trends. Her color game is on point. And seriously, she does magical things with those scissors. I have yet to come out with a style or color that I am less than excited about. I don’t even have to show her pictures. She literally gets me from just a few minutes of prep talk before we’re off to the wash basin!
Since finding Robyn, I have moved to Huntington Beach. I refuse to find a new stylist and keep making the trek back up to her and her new salon. The salon, by the way, is awesome. It’s small and cozy and makes you feel like you are just relaxing with a good friend while she pampers you and makes your hair look gorgeous.
Her calendar fills up really quickly so book well in advance. She is worth the wait.

Hands down Robyn is the sweetest and most talented hair stylist I’ve ever come across. I colored my hair for the first time ever with her and she gave me exactly what I wanted. I’ve changed the color now more than a few times and every time she nails it. Not only that, but she is extremely passionate about her work and it is obvious she cares about her guests. I used to live in Long Beach, but I live in Pasadena now. I still make the drive out. She’s that good!

Today my hair was blessed by Robyn lol. Let me preface by saying that this is my first, but not last, time getting my hair done by her. I know most of her clients are returning ones. But I used to go to the old salon she used to work at and always noticed her amazing work. I tried to make an appointment and they said she moved so of course, I track her down on instagram and noticed she opened her own salon. I booked an appointment which was months ahead but didn’t care. I’ve been waiting patiently since June and yes it was worth it.
The salon: Very cute, light and minimal. Good music. I don’t know how else to explain it but I could see myself chilling there for hours without the feeling like I’m somewhere hectic. Also was offered an array of refreshments which was great.
The hair: A lot of times I’ll go get a haircut somewhere and they give you a blow out and you’re like okay this is nice. Rarely do I go get a haircut and style and think wow I’m really feeling this look. She’s able to deliver something that’s very current, not basic, and pretty. And you know someone’s good when you forget to show them your inspiration hair pic and your hair still comes out looking exactly how you want.
Another important part of the experience that determines whether I go back is the actual person. Robyn gives off that pretty woman/​positive vibe where she’s confident in what she knows but also is very down to earth. Love love love. Definitely my new hair person! :)

Love this salon. Monica is friendly and professional. She’s great with my very curly hair. I trust her with my hair and my two year old’s her. Highly recommend her.

Robyn is amazing! From the moment we met I felt confident that she understood what I wanted to do with my hair. She explained the process of getting my hair balayage since this was my first time and what I should expect. I love my hair and the cut she gave me and I can’t wait for my hair to get redone this month! You will not be disappointed. Never letting anyone else touch my hair again. The salon itself is absolutely chic with a laid back vibe you will love it.

I love Salon Monroe! This beautifully decorated, modern, intimate salon is the perfect spot for Robyn and Monica to work their magic. Both of these ladies are excellent hairstylists with tons of training and expertise behind them. Robyn has been doing my hair for a long time and I always get compliments on my color! They only use high-​quality products here that are safe and won’t damage your hair.
I always feel welcomed and pampered when I walk in here. Would highly recommend this salon to anyone and everyone who wants gorgeous, healthy hair!

I have been seeing Robyn for my haircuts, balayage, makeup, and hairstyling for several years now and I am never disappointed! She is so knowledgable and always answers all of my questions to be sure that my hair is exactly how I want it and I am always so happy with the end result! I can’t imagine trusting anyone else with my hair color now that I have found Robyn!

Monica is the sweetest girl ever, and she definitely knows what she’s doing. When I found out she moved I HAD to follow her. Her and Robyn are incredible and it’s great to see them happy at their new salon. Monica never disappoints me. She knows my hair in and out and I always leave feeling 10x prettier. I would give them 10 stars if I could!

The space is modern, clean and beautiful. I loved getting my hair done here. Upon arrival I was greeted by both Monica and Robyn and offered a beverage which made me feel great.
Monica is always friendly, professional, knowledgeable and made my hair look like a million bucks! She also had useful tips on how to keep my hair looking great!

I loved getting my hair done at Salon Monroe! Monica is the best and always knows what my hair needs. I can show her a picture of what I would like my haircut/​color to look like and the end result is always PERFECT! The salon is so easy to find! It is located right at the corner of 4^th street. The interior is chic and inviting. The floor to ceiling windows provide a great view while you get pampered and also bring in plenty of natural light. I totally recommend Monica and Robyn! I always know I will walk out looking fabulous!

I’ve been getting my hair done by Monica since December. I absolutely adore Monica and her work. So when I found out she opened her own salon along with another stylist, Robyn. I just had to follow her. She listens to what her clients want and she is very honest about her work. This girl is outstanding at what she does. She never disappoints. Take a chance and get your hair done. You will not regret it and you will not want to go anywhere else.

Where do I begin with Salon Monroe… well first off, I have been getting my hair done by Monica for the past 7+ years and I will never go with anyone else! I have had the pleasure of having my hair and makeup by Robyn as well and I am truly blessed to of found 2 talented and amazing women that can make you look stunning! Their amazing new boutique salon is perfection!!! I am in love with their space and it is in located in the prime area of long beach. I totally recommend everyone to make an appointment with these amazing hair stylist, you will be hooked!!! 10 stars for this salon, for sure!!!

I’ve had the pleasure of having my hair done by both Robyn & Monica, and I won’t let anyone but them touch my hair now! They are balayage queens! I get so many complements on my hair because of these beautiful girls! You are more than safe with either of them!

I’ve had Robyn doing my hair for years and she’s amazing! She gives a thorough consultation, and will explain pros and cons of the color or cut you have in mind. She books out many weeks, and sometimes months– but I promise she’s worth the wait. Her and Monica have such a cute «sister-​like» relationship. They also put a lot of thought into their salon– it’s gorgeous and cozy at the same time! Their services are not cheap, but they are both very experienced and will not let you leave without beautiful hair! Two thumbs up!!!

I absolutely love and adore my hair dresser MONICA, that when I found out she had opened her own salon, I had to follow her. She’s amazing (and a hottie) and I love her work she does on my hair. She walks you through and talks to you about your color and style options. The thing I appreciate about Monica is that she’s honest and will tell you if it won’t look good or turn out the way you wanted. She really listens to her customers and what they want. I was referred to her a couple years ago and I’m glad I have found a hair dresser I can trust.
Monica and Robyn are very sweet and both are great hair dressers. Their new salon they opened is very cute and is located in a building with suites. They offer great customer service with beverages upon arrival.
I would definitely recommend booking an appointment with Monica but she does get booked quickly, so be patient you won’t regret it.

It has a cute boutique feel and they make you feel so welcome with great conversation and great hospitality.
