Jenny and Jocelyn are both amazing women: passionate about what they do, professional, kind, open-​hearted, and beaming with goodness.
The community that revolves around this center is similarly great. I have had the great blessing of meeting countless inspiring individuals through my involvement in Sacred Roots.
Sacred Roots helps me to connect to the beauty, grace, and knowledge within myself.

I’ve been going to Jocelyn for years for massage now and I always feel amazing afterward. She truly listens to you and your body and hones in on what exactly it is that needs some tlc. And the infrared sauna is a bonus!
A few months ago, I joined the Sacred Self Care course led by Jocelyn and Jenny which couldn’t have come at a better time in my life. I am incredibly grateful for the space that was available to discuss my own personal self care goals along with connecting with others on important matters regarding all areas of self care. Spirituality, mental health, emotional well-​being, meditation, diet, the list goes on. On one night, we experienced sound healing which was absolutely blissful and, on another day, a road trip up to Canoga Park for a sweat lodge session that was TRANSCENDANT!
I love these ladies for creating this space for new perspectives and practices and for GROWTH. Thank you! xoxoxo

From the infrared sauna to the meditation classes to the massage therapy and Big Red Bus Yoga field trips and community events, this place is such a beautiful gem in our neighborhood. Their top caliber practitioners always take the best care of me and make me feel like I am on the correct path. Do yourself a favor and check out what they have to offer.

Those that know me know I’m a yogie! I LOVE it and whenever possible I like to try out new yoga places. This is normally when my membership at my current place has expired and I’m going to go on holiday, business trip, etc. Why pay for an unlimited month and I won’t be there to use it. A WASTE of moola and just plain STUPID but you can do whatever you like. I usually have a few places on standby just for these type on moments.
It’s also a wonderful thing to do for your body. Change it up, work out different muscles groups and get the maximum benefits ALL THE TIME because your body will not be able to get used to that one repetitive thing you do all the time.
So here is the skinny. This studio is located near DTLB so it’s not too far. PLEASE NOTE that ALL parking at this studio is all on the street and is at a premium so give yourself time to find adequate parking in time to make a class. When I was checking out there website for different classes for another studio, I noticed some events for different workshops like inversions and an opportunity to do morning yoga at the beach. I’m a water rat and I LOVE doing yoga outside so this was the best of both worlds for me. It was a donation based event (which doesn’t mean free), and the suggested donation was $ 20 to $ 25, and included a bus ride over to Bolsa Chica State Beach on the Big Red Bus, yoga, b-​fast, and reflection so I was up for this.
I sent an email to reserve a spot and got a quick reply back that I was in. Yippy! A couple days before the event they sent out reminder emails along with the studio address, time to meet up, parking instructions, and a list of items you might want to bring as well as mentioned to dress in layers because it would probably be cold and have a happy Namaste see you there.
The meet up time was a the BUTT crack of dawn which normally is NOT a problem for me because I’m a morning person but I didn’t get in til around 3am Saturday morning from a YEE in Hollywood and hanging out with some Unilocal peeps. So when my alarm went off to get up 3.5 hours later I was NOT EXCITED!
I managed to get there in more than enough time, found parking and signed in and waited for the bus to arrive. Everyone was bundled up and had a hot drink of something in there hands to warm up. The bus arrived and we all board. Some people went upstairs where there was some chanting and music. I stayed downstairs where the bus was closed off my windows and not as FIRCKIN COLD!

The drive over was nice and soon we were there. One of the yoga teachers husbands got there a bit earlier to start a bomb fire for us to gather around with was GREAT UNTIL the wind kicked in and started blowing ashes in our faces. #SecondHandSmoke. LOL!
Most people brought a journal and pin to write with per the instructions so we could write down and look back at some things. It’s always NICE to do this for yourself and if you DON’T you should! I try to do this often just to make sure I’m on track. We had a nice moment of reflection and asked ourselves question like:
1. What are you excited about or what makes you happy? Are you happy? #SubstanceAbuseDoesn’tCount
2. What are your goals in life? Do you even have any? #SetGoalsLoser
3. How do you define success? #ItsNotAllAboutMoney
4. What’s holding you back from achieving those things? #GetOutYourOwnWay

Next it was time for yoga. We all were pretty bundled up even with the bomb fire but we managed to get our YOGA ON! It was GREAT! We built some heat and I stared to peel off the layers. It was a NIE beginner class and I could add on where I needed to. All my layers made it a bit difficult to do that but I still got PRETTY WARMED UP in my back, hips, chest and shoulders.
After yoga it was time to get our GRUB out. They provided oatmeal with nanas (Yuck), cinnamon, sugar, soy and almond milk, and a chia seed porridge. They were also sponsored by KIND and we have a few different variety of bars, as well a sponsor from women re-​hydration water. Sorry I can’t remember the name.
It was a REALLY COOL EVENT and EVERRYONE was AWESOME and NICE and did there YOGA! I WOULD TOTALLY DO THIS AGAIN. This seems like a REALLY NICE STUDIO/​SPACE although I don’t think YOGA is there main focus. They offer massages, meditation a sauna of come sort and other holistic, non-​drug mind and body freeing things to get you relaxed and in a GOOD SPACE!

I’m so lucky to have found this wonderful space! A few months back, my Dr had recommended that I start meditating to help reduce my stress levels, but because I am a workaholic, I haven’t quite gotten started on that yet. I was actually looking for a place with an infrared sauna, and Sacred Roots offered one for less than Per Sauna in the South Bay so I figured I would come treat myself. After reading the other reviews on Unilocal,I figured it would be a good idea to follow that sweat party up with a massage, so I called and spoke with Jocelyn and made an appointment with her to use the sauna and to get a 90 minute massage.
Since I booked the time on Sunday, I decided it would be the best utilization of my day to check out the Sunday Sit, as well. Mindfulness is something new to me, as is meditation, because I have a very high stress job and a «go go go» sort of mentality. I won’t lie when I say that the meditation was hard for me!
I followed that up though with the sauna, like I mentioned, which was SO amazing. It was hot, but not unbearable or uncomfortable by any means. I didn’t sweat at all at first, but once I started to sweat, there was NO stopping it! After I dried myself off, I reconnected with Jocelyn for my massage. She was really great, and asked me if I had any problem areas I wanted her to focus on. I’ve always had problems with my right shoulder up into my neck, so I told her about that and then she got started. Easily, the BEST massage ever. Her pressure and movements were completely in tune with my breathing and the movement of my body. I’m not normally a deep breath taker, so I had to be present for the massage (like, I couldn’t just close my eyes and drift all the way off like I have before) and I found that to be so enjoyable and rewarding.
I felt so good afterwards, very centered and energized on my way home and into the evening. I’m glad I found this place, and hope to be back soon!

I’m 7 months pregnant and had some great prenatal massages there by Jocelyn Fee and Christina Richards. Both women were exceptionally kind, healing, and intuitive and gave my back much needed relief during this uncomfortable time. Christina is currently finishing her training in zero balancing, a technique that focuses on the bones, and something I am deeply interested in trying soon!

I LOVE this place. Not only is it a little refuge/​sanctuary from the busy Redondo Ave it’s one from life. I have done the private yoga sessions with Jenny Ahn and she is truly wonderful. I originally sought her out due to my interest in Ayurveda and she spent some time with me answering all of my questions which ultimately lead to my start in the process of becoming a practitioner, but that’s another story… Anyway I walked in there having done a couple of yoga classes and sad attempts at home and she transformed me into a person who actually pays attention to my body and form and who is confident during my practice. She is patient, encouraging and incredibly informative! I highly recommend going to her if you want to learn how to do yoga in a way that will be truly beneficial to your body, mind and soul.

Sacred Roots is such a blessing here in Long Beach. I have been to Jenny Ahn for ayurvedic consultation as well as massage and she is truly gifted. I would say some of the best massages I’ve ever had! I have referred my mom, brother and husband here and always send friends her way. I also hired her as my postpartum doula, which was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend to any pregnant mamas. Everyone it’s very nice. Jocelyn does great massages. Adrienne is a very knowledgeable and skilled counselor. They have really fun events every month. I highly recommend it for all your health needs.

I have been getting Ayurvedic marma therapy and massage from Jenny Ahn and she is superb. My muscle tension was greatly relieved after the session and i felt so relaxed. Jenny is very gentle, versatile in the way she works and i have complete confidence under her care.
The place is tranquil and serene. Beautiful and cozy atmosphere.

I have participated in numerous workshops/​classes at Sacred Roots. I have enjoyed each one. I am thankful for the community feel and connection that is cultivated here. All the practitioners are very skilled and provide high quality service. I highly recommend Sacred Roots!

I have lived in Long Beach for a year and have always been curious about visiting this holistic center. ‘Fortunately’ I have been under a large amount of stress and I finally realized I had to make an appointment to get some help. So I called and scheduled an appointment with Jenny for an Ayurvedic facial. Wow, what an experience. By the time I left, I didn’t feel the tension, pain on my neck. I was relaxed and felt like a noodle. The Type A person that walked in was no longer.
I will definitely return and take advantage of the great offerings that Sacred Roots Holistic Healing offers. Thank you Jenny for a great service and sharing with me all what is available.

Attended an essential oil workshop and loved the space, the content of the course, the camaraderie with the women in the group! Came back with my daughter to have henna designs done by Jenny and loved the whole experience! Thank you!

To summarize — Jocelyn Fee is Amazing.
I got what I initially thought was a simple ‘kink’ to the back right side of my neck on a Wednesday night. Over the next few days it got progressively worse. I tried to massage it out, my husband gave me a massage, I took Advil, put hot & cold compresses, etc. By Friday night, the pain was markedly worse; I thought I just needed one good night sleep — I could barely turn my neck, but again, I thought, now it’s the weekend and I can sleep in and rest.
By noon on Saturday I was in agonizing pain. The pinched nerve had gone from the lower right side of my neck and had traveled half way up my head and it was only climbing. My husband wanted to take me to the E.R. but I knew that, at best, they’d make me wait hours and pump me full of useless drugs. We began to search for an acupuncturist, chiropractor or massage therapist. First we hit up some we knew, but lets face it, trying to schedule a last minute appointment on a Saturday afternoon was going to take a miracle.
I found the great reviews for SACRED ROOTS on Unilocal.I first called, Dr. Joni Stier (an acupuncturist & chiropractor). She actually ANSWERED her phone. She was soooo sweet and caring, her concern spilled out over the phone. She said that, unfortunately, she only practiced at Sacred Roots on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She suggested some other chiropractors in the area that I might try, but after speaking to her, I only wanted to see her or someone in the same group. She said I could try Kailey Outram, a massage therapist at Sacred Roots, but Kailey also was unable to see me. Did I mention it was a Saturday afternoon? Kailey then recommended, Jocelyn Fee, another massage therapist at Sacred Roots. She, like Dr. Stier and Kailey answered her phone! Amazing, people who actually answer their phones! And on a Saturday. She made some last minute arrangements and met me at 4 pm.
I don’t give 5 star reviews unless the business is exceptional and this business is above and beyond a 5 star. The massage that Jocelyn gave me wasn’t just pleasurable (to speak the truth, I was in such pain to begin with, part of the massage did hurt — in a good way). The area of the pinched nerve or pulled muscle or whatever was going on was pretty irritated by the time I lay down on the table. So, she massaged the area around, trying to locate the ‘source’ point. I told her I knew exactly where it was and pointed to where the pain started at the back right side of my neck. She said that may not actually be where the originating point was. By lightly massaging the area around the pain, we discovered the originating point was actually right below the right side of my jaw.
In any case, once she located the originating source, she began to work in the area ‘around it’. Working from as far away and ending it at the source. She told me that she also taught ‘Yoga’ where breathing properly is crucial and she noticed that I kept holding my breath. So, she breathed in and out as she massaged to guide me.
I left there feeling better… She gave me some after care instructions, but honestly, I still felt pain… in a different way. It was no longer centered in one area — I felt like a truck had run me over — sore all over. About an hour later, my temperature went up. Instinctively I knew it was my body healing itself. I went to bed that night and woke up feeling better. No longer a nerve pull around my neck and head, just that all over soreness. As the hours passed on Sunday, I felt better and better.
All I can say is that it’s been a couple of months and my neck hasn’t felt this good in YEARS. And all from a single massage. Also, she made me aware of just how much I hold my breath. I hold it several hundred times ‘per’ day. I am now in the habit of taking longer, deeper breaths and migraines, which I suffer from, have greatly improved.
I am so grateful to Jocelyn, not only for seeing me, a new client, on short notice and making personal arrangements to help me at a time when I was in deep pain, but because that was the best THERAPEUTIC massage I have ever received. Any massage therapist can make you feel good for one day but this has had lasting effects.
We recently moved, making my distance to Sacred Roots, a bit further. But I do plan to go back to see Jocelyn. And I still hope to be able to see Dr. Stier at some point for other medical issues. I’m a cancer survivor and the chemo and radiation left me with lasting side-​effects and an increasing eagerness to find more natural ways of dealing with my health.
I am thoroughly impressed with Jocelyn and Sacred Roots.

This company is unbelievable. My wife had a baby and was absolutely out of her mind in pain. Jocelyn Fee came over for a Postpartum message and POOF; the strange creature that resided in my wife was gone. All of my wife’s pain melted away. Jocelyn is an incredibly gifted healer. The direct quote from my wife was, «this was not a message, it was an experience that literally made me feel like me again.» THANK YOU Jocelyn.

My doctor diagnosed me with carpal tunnel syndrome and recommended wrist surgery. Instead, I opted to see Dr. Joni Stier for acupuncture. Happy I did! Three weeks later and almost all of the pain is gone! She also helped prescribe some herbal medicine for my fatigue.
I also had a great opportunity to see Anita Sundara for an Ayurvedic facial. It was the best! I highly recommend her facials to anyone.

This place is so rad. They have all kinds of therapies available. I went to Jenny after I hurt my back. She massaged me and used essential oils to help relax my back. She did such a good job at reading my body and giving it what it needed. I will definitely come check out the Community Clinic day.

My first experience there was remarkable. Jocelyn was my therapist and suggested I do a 30 minute session in the infrared sauna prior to my 1-​hour massage. I was very pleased with the entire experience and scheduled a second visit for next week, in preparation for cycling 100 miles in the Tour de Cure here in Long Beach on ⁴⁄₂₈.
Everything about the Sacred Roots spa design is very calming and tasteful.
I commend Jocelyn and the ladies on the wonderful job they did and welcome them to Long Beach. I look forward to many visits and have already referred my cycling friend to visit. Thank you Jocelyn !

I’ve been receiving massage from Jocelyn for a few years now and have ALWAYS had an amazing healing experience. When she mentioned she intended to open a healing center with some other practitioners I was very excited to see what they’d produce.
Sacred Roots does not disappoint.
Their humble, yet professional center is a breath of fresh air. Yoga, meditation, Ayurvedic, acupuncture, massage, sauna… Just to name a few. So many healing resources by some really talented people. The offices are extremely clean and the ambience really feels nurturing and safe.
I’ve had the pleasure of receiving a handful of services and have sent my mother, girlfriend, friends and family here as well. All have booked return appointments.
An infrared sauna session followed by a 90 minute deep tissue at the hands of Jocelyn has helped me get through some rough patches in life!
All services are priced differently, so your best bet is to call or email with inquiries. So far I’ve found the prices to be fair and affordable. They also seem to be really adaptable with scheduling and availability.
And ask about their special events!

Best massage of my life! Kailey is a miracle worker. I’ve been getting structural work and facial cupping from her and I have been amazed with the results. My back and shoulder pain is essentially gone. She’s improved my posture, my breathing, and my stress levels.
