I bought a Cockatiel here for my aging mother 2 years ago, to keep her company. That bird has been a blessing for my Mom. She taught it to talk and whistle tunes etc. and is all she talks about everytime I come over. Her bird had become her watchdog who promptly alerts her with loud shrills everytime he hears the doorbell or someone making noise out in the yard. But most importantly, that bird had become good company.
The Owner really gave us a lesson on what type and which bird to pick out. She talked about care and food (of which btw, she mixes her own birdfood for different species). We bring «FLIP» over every six months to get his wings and nails clipped. We’ve used the boarding service on several occasions when my Mother traveled and the owner each time told us how impressed she was with Flip and his vocal and singing skills. Of course, my Mom beamed!
Thank you so much for everything Delia! You’ve made my Mother so much happier since Flip came into her life. Flip is the best birthday present I’ve ever given to my Mom.

I myself have been to many pet and bird specialty stores, as I own a bird myself, and I can’t help but say I am very disappointed in the state of this shop.
Rainbow feather is mildly clean, however a little run down. The birds are not socialized, and in the time that I was there I held at least half of their mediocre selection of parrots, and was bit aggressively by all of them. This shows that the birds are cage soured, and will be a challenge to tame into good family pets.
Also the lady in charge seemed to know only a minimal amount about the proper care and keeping of her animals. Many of the birds were dirty and missing feathers, and all of them had over grown beaks and nails.
I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE, I personally prefer a place such as Omar’s exotics or Exotic Birds by Fran, as their stores are much cleaner and the birds are much happier.

Still a great place. Always go back to have my little guy’s feathers and nails trimmed, and pick up a bag of ‘cuisine’ for my small conure. Each time I go back, there is another bird parent bringing their large bird in for care. Not sure why some folks gave bad reviews…

We are fans of this place! We bought our 16 year old cockatiel here (the store was named something else back then.) We have continually brought Elvis in to have his wings and nails trimmed. They have always been wonderful and patient with our feisty bird. We have bought cages, seed, toys and have been very happy with our purchases and our overall experience here. We definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a bird or caring for a feathered friend.

I went to this place because i read such great reviews. I had a totally different experience. I took my son on a Saturday to buy a bird. The woman running the place at that time seemed annoyed to even have customers. The bird cages were filthy and the birds did not look healthy at all. The lady was even rude to my son when he asked if he might be able to hold a bird. Maybe they changed ownership???

the employee was a slob did not wont to answer the door for us. had a bad attitude towards us. has birds but bad customer service. i will never visit this shop again for anything worst place ever.

My daughter is an all-​around good kid and Honor student that rarely asks for things. Recently she asked for a monkey or bird. Hmmmm! Needless to say I bought her a bird.
Rainbow Feather is a great place to get newbies exposed to birds. We got to feed and hold the different species of birds available from small ones like budgies to the huge and quite expensive African Greys. After my first visit, I was convinced this was a good place to get our first budgie. That was six months ago. We have since added a baby cockatiel.
The owner is helpful, knowledgeable, and attentive. She really loves the birds and it shows. Her prices are good and the inventory includes the basics needed to care for your bird. She does nail and wing clippings and is probably the best person to trust boarding your bird.
I’m happy to report «Reggie» the Budgie and «Patches» the Cockatiel are doing great.

BEST place in 100 miles for boarding! Great services, supplies, feed mixes, and toys but nothing compares to the care given to each bird that comes through the door.

It is hard to find places that can handle parrots, let alone large parrots so this place is a gem. I board my cockatoo there when we go out of town and they are great. She can handle him no problem and the birds get fresh fruit treats and play time. If your bird is particular you can bring your own food in. I try and support the mom and pops and this one makes it easy.

I got my Cockatiels toe nails clipped from these guys this morning and they were very nice and delicate with my little bird. They charged $ 3.
The owner seems to love birds, thats usually a good sign.

I board my parrot there and she comes home happy. She gets all her clippings done there also at a very reasonable price. $ 5 – 8 for nails, beak and feathers. The lady remembers my bird and what she likes and gives a varied diet of fruit, nuts and pellets when boarding.

Rainbow Feathers is a great little local bird shop. I take my macaw and parrot there for feather trimming and beak trimming. Prices for grooming are reasonable and the current owner has really worked to keep the place clean and neat.
House blends for food are great. I didn’t find pricing out of line with other bird stores that I’ve visited. The do boarding and I would definitely consider it if I needed some place to keep my bird. Parking can be a bit of a challange, but I’ve never really had that much problem.

They do a great job trimming my bird’s feathers and filing her nails and beak. My bird can be very mean, and yet they handle her with care each time. Their custom-​mixed bird foods are killer, I usually buy one national brand and mix it with one of their custom mixes (both available there) and have a happy Chirper for months.

Took my baby to get a wing/​nail trim today, and was totally pleased. The woman who did it handled my bird appropriately, and didn’t cut any nails too short. Not an unhappy peep out of my bird. And it only cost FIVE DOLLARS for a small bird, which is tons cheaper than my vet/​another bird store I’ve gone to ($ 19 and $ 27, respectively). Awesome.

Rainbow Feathers is a small store on Anaheim St. You have to park on the street. I go there because of their great custom bird food mixes. They could go big time with these but for now they are only available at the store. A small but decent toy selection, a bit expensive, but other than Everybody’s Bird Mart it is hard to find cool toys. They have some nice cages for sale, also expensive. There are a number of well kept and friendly birds for sale. They also have a bird boarding area that looks okay, I have not boarded a bird there.
