Hello darling, where have you been all my life? This place is AMAZING and oh so yummy. I have a mild addiction at this point. There are many different mix in options so you can have something new and different every time you come. The staff is always courteous and helpful as well. Definitely a healthy lunch stop.

One of my favorite places in Long Beach for a quick bite! A novel idea of a bar you go down and the helpful staff will create the bowl of your desires. The sushi and veggies are always fresh and never disappoint. The casual dining spot is small and the parking is hard to find, but it is worth the hunt! So, check them out and get your custom made bowl and enjoy!

So happy that I found a poke spot right next to my house! This is the spot to go to when you’re craving poke. Good quality and great portions for the price! There are a LOT of choices and the service is fast. I’ll be returning way more often This place definitely deserves a 5 star but parking is a bit difficult around here for I gave it a 4. other than that, this place is amazing!

So excited to have a legitimate option for Poke in LB! Now I can satisfy my craving between trips back to Hawaii. This is the«chipotle» of Poke. Make your own poke deliciousness! I had 3 different pokes(salmon, tuna, & spicy tuna) over a bed of fresh greens, cucumbers, onions, jalapeños, cilantro, ponzu, sesame oil, seaweed salad, masago, garlic, &BAM… Hawaii flavored deliciousness! Great job Poke bar! Can’t wait to go back.

I was delighted to follow up on the recommendation of a friend to find this place. It is within walking distance of my apartment and I love finding new places to eat as I’m single and rarely prepare meals. I’ve been there twice now and I’m sure this will be at least a weekly habit for me. They offer fresh ingredients, reasonable prices and hold me over until my monthly visit to my sister’s in Newhall and a trip to our favorite sushi place, Light & Healthy Sushi Bar. I rate this place as a satisfying value and that is the basis of my giving it five stars.

Love the idea of this place. Ordered tuna, salmon and tako with white rice with all the other condiments. Had it with ponzu sauce and wish the ponzu was a little bit stronger as well as the sesame oil. The portions didn’t look that much for the price but it wasn’t until I delved into it was when I realized the med size was a lot of food. Def will be making this a go to spot everytime I visit my parents in LB. Can’t wait to try the spicy mayo.

Very good poke! Fresh, not too expensive and they aren’t cheap with their sides of crab, seaweed, etc. The fish is pretty fresh tasting although I’ve seen some brownish gray in the salmon bin. The parking here kinda sucks but it’s worth it!

Really good! My 2nd time here calls for a review: I’m on a strict caloric diet because I’m going to compete soon, but just had a craving for some fish without the rice. Of course, a sashimi dish would cost a lot so I figured, why not come back here? It’s so worth it! Anyway, I ordered the same thing as last time: Mixed greens with salmon, albacore & scallop, a spoonful of crab meat & seaweed salad, some or all of the condiments(I got them all), some orange fish eggs(masago?), a splash of ponzu sauce & a squeeze of spicy mayo & don’t forget ginger and wasabi! They didn’t have avocado so that’s why I didn’t give them a five star but other than that… service was great, fast, friendly. Got my stamps on a card so I can get my 10th one free! Or was it the 11th one? Lol! I’m tired. Just tried to put my kid to sleep. Outdoor seating is nice! Just check the weather and bring a light sweater if it’s a little chilly out. Can’t wait to come back! Gotta make sure I burn more calories at the gym! Lol!

What a cool joint! Hawaiian chipotle… A perfect concept. My pokey bowl was bursting at the seams. My fiancé and I had a blast doing the poke thing. When we’re back in Long Beach, we will be eaten there!

So my buddy(visiting from out of state) and I were looking for a place to eat by his hotel and we found Poké Bar. Staff was super friendly from the moment we walked through the door. They talked us through how to order… basically, Chipotle style. Both of us were starving so we ordered the large… a hefty portion of brown rice and four pretty sizable scoops of proteins(I got tuna, spicy tuna, albacore, and salmon) mixed in with crab meat, seaweed, cucumbers, etc. I really was full in half the meal but powered through because I was not about to waste poké. My only issue about the experience was the food was served in these eco-friendly containers but they mixed up the poké in a foil take out container… which I assume they throw away after. It defeated the purpose of the eco-friendly container. All in all, I was satisfied. I plan on going to the Westwood location closer to me for the next poké craving… probably in a couple days.

After reading all the one star reviews, looks like I was not the only one put off by the terrible attitude of one of the staff members. The one who started our order looked like this was the most miserable place to work at. For f*cks sake, quit if you don’t like your job… there are hundreds of people willing to take your place. Overall, it was okay. Medium poke bowl with tuna, spicy tuna, and albacore and house dressing. Half my albacore had gristle. Parking looks to be metered spots only and you’re lucky if you can find one without walking a block.

Poke Bar is located between 1st and Atlantic in DTLB. Street or metered parking only — bring coins! The line stars at the very back. You can choose between brown or white rice, salad, or nacho style for your base then decide on how many scoops of fresh fish you want and toss it in your favorite sauces. Love all the different mix-ins provided which range from crabmeat, seaweed, crispy onion/garlic, jalapeño, cucumers, etc. If you’re not a huge fan of fresh raw fish, i suggest adding more crispy onion and garlic — that definitely helped mask the taste a bit! I’d definitely come back to try other items. Free avocado or miso soup with check in! Stamp cards are also available.

Location: If you try to google map/street view this place, you will see what used to be a café in a hotel. Guess they haven’t updated it since Poke Bar opened! It is in a Best Western Plus in downtown Long Beach. There is one 24 minute spot in front of the place for take out, and there are a lot of meters around the area. If you go during dinner rush times though(i.e. Saturday night), you may be hard pressed to find a meter. Service: We came to do the DineLBC menu so we asked about it when we first walked in. The first woman we asked started to try and explain it and fumbled so she asked someone else to do it. The other woman who was out at the counter did explain the menu somewhat, but looked somewhat annoyed as she did it. She wasn’t overtly rude or anything, just not very friendly. She did explain the DineLBC menu, but did not explain the toppings options again. Food: The DineLBC menu came with a miso soup, medium bowl, and a drink for $ 10. Normally the medium bowl itself is already $ 10. The medium comes with 3 scoops of protein(small = 2, large = 4). Similar to other places, protein choices include tuna, spicy tuna, salmon, albacore, octopus, shrimp, scallop and tofu. Base choices include white/brown rice, salad and nacho. They have all the typical mix-ins except they no avocado! If I remember correctly, you can order it for $ 1 extra. Atypical mix-ins(at least from what I’ve seen) that they have here include crispy onion and crispy garlic. Sauce choices include ponzu, sweet chili, spicy mayo, wasabi mayo. They do seem to have less choices than other places in this area. The salmon quality was pretty good — they had some nice, large pieces. I tried the ponzu and it was okay, but honestly could have used a little more flavor. My husband was okay with the spicy mayo though. When they mix the fish, they use the small tin take out containers which we both thought was interesting — wonder how long that will stay cost-effective. The white rice was a little mushy for my taste — think slightly overcooked. Everything else was just fine — nothing went WOW for us. Overall: A good poke place overall, but given that it can be kind of hard to find parking and get too since its in dtlb we will probably continue to go to some of our other spots since nothing here really stood out as different. If you are in the are, it’s not a bad choice though. Just a little expensive.

Pokey pokey oh how we love pokey! So far, this is the best Poke restaurant I have found around here in the downtown Long Beach area. There was one Poke type of restaurant I went to, in the plaza near Carson st and Cherry ave that wasn’t any good because they had you pick 1 item and they weighed it…(boring). But theses«Subway» style Poke places that have been popping up around neighboring towns is so great if you are into the raw fish and want to get your healthy protein intake on!

Nice parking space outside that’s limited for 24 minutes for a quick grab and go. Walked in and the fish smell was way too strong. Saw the cuts of fish and was super excited bc the cuts were large. Thought they were gonna give just one small scoop of fish but they gave me one and a half of each protein which was awesome. I got the medium so 3 choices of protein. Not a lot of sauces to choose from and spicy mayo looked darker than normal. The rice was kind of hard by the time I ate it. The fish, I’m assuming was completely frozen melted and so there was a lot of excessive liquid in my bowl and I definitely did not like that. I will not be returning here and just drive elsewhere.

Poke bar is like the Chipotle of Poke! I absolutely love that you can customize your bowl with all kinds of toppings and fish! PLUS, they have a stamp card! First you pick a size; a small(2 scoops), medium(3 scoops) large(4 scoops). Second you choose how you want it; with brown, white rice, as a salad, or as nachos! Then you pick your toppings and the sauce you want! The small is more than enough for me! I usually get brown rice with spicy tuna and albacore. For toppings I get cilantro, pineapple(MUSTTRY), masago, seaweed, crunchy garlic, crunchy onion, crab meat, ponzu sauce, and furukake. The first time I came here, I accidentally added pineapple, but I ended up loving it! I skipped on the jalapeños today, because it gets way too spicy with the spicy tuna. So spicy, I can’t even enjoy my poke. For drinks they have green tea, coconut water, and all types of other stuff. I’ve been eyeing the green tea since the first time I went here, but they said it wasn’t sweetened. Try the coconut water with guava! So refreshing! For dessert they have macaron ice cream sandwiches, but I’d rather go to Snow Monster for that. This is probably my favorite poke spot. It’s between Poke Bar and King Poke. I can’t decide. I’d choose those two over Jus Poke and Poke Etc. Service is pretty good, it’s quick and easy. Place is tiny, but plenty of seats indoor and a few outside. I love that they have a stamp card, we’ll go here a lot more once we’re closer! But then again, they did just open a Poke Bar in Cerritos!

Been meaning to try this place out since they opened; finally got out that way a couple days ago, and yes, this place is super-legit. *So* much better than Poke Etc. At Poke Etc, for ~10 bucks, you get a couple tiny separate containers of poke, and a tiny separate container of rice, and that’s it — totally not worth it. At Poke Bar, for ~11 bucks, I got a container containing a scoop of salmon, a scoop of spicy tuna, a scoop of scallops(!), a scoop of rice, a scoop of krab salad, a scoop of seaweed salad, a scoop of masago(!), then all topped with some greenery, and doused with a choice of sauce(the choice was a bit overwhelming; I just went with the traditional ponzu-type sauce.) I was *very* satisfied with the weight of the resulting container I was handed. Was pretty satisfied after eating it, too. I will say, the salmon was definitely fresh, but not quite as blast-you-with-flavor as good sushi-quality salmon(still tasty though). The spicy tuna was surprisingly the star of this show: next time I’d probably get a scoop of salmon and two scoops of spicy tuna — it was *very* flavorful. Their seaweed salad was also excellent, and everything melded together great. I would absolutely come back here pretty much whenever I was in the area and needed a quick bite. p. s. avocado is a dollar extra, but right now you can get it with a Unilocal checkin. You want the avocado: it really benefitted the overall flavor profile greatly, and you get a decent amount of it.

Poke Bar is definitely a few notches higher than Poke Etc – although not too far off from PokiNometry! If you’re doing a take out, you’ll find the parking spaces a lot more convenient since the meters give you 5 minutes for FREE! Unless you plan on dining in, wouldn’t it be fun to run out to your car every 5 minutes just to press that green button?!! It’s doable :P I suggest dropping by after the lunch rush so you can eat in peace. Also, ain’t nobody got time for that long ass line! Ambiance is chill, great choices of music, vibrant interior décor. Price-wise, Poke Bar is a buck or so higher than PokiNometry. And I’m not just saying that because I was actually overcharged – on my first visit! My hubby && I ordered two small bowls and only I added avocados($ 1). Nothing more. Our bill was $ 2 more than it should’ve been. Always check your receipts, anywhere you go. Seriously. So I brought it up to Gahyeon & Vincent before heading out. They both agreed and apologized right away for the inconvenience. And to make up for it, they gave us two ice cream macaron sandwiches.(Not necessary, but much appreciated! Thanks guys!) Mind you, they weren’t the ones who overcharged us. I wish I had gotten her name – tall, Hispanic girl. I couldn’t help but notice her whole attitude was off as well. We observed her dragging her feet in BOH and she was very short with us when answering our questions. She should work on her customer service, it was very poor. And she was chewing gum on the line! Sigh. Our bowls were relatively okay. Small bowls come with 2 scoops of protein and we both ordered spicy tuna. If I knew it’d be extra spicy, I wouldn’t have gone for it. It was too much for our liking and threw away a good portion. Everything else was fresh, tons of toppings to choose from. First time experience, a solid 4⁄5. PS. Special shoutout to the person who had 45 minutes leftover on their parking meter. You da, you da best! :D

Honestly, it’s nice having a poke bar like this in Long Beach. However, it’s still a bit of a trek into downtown and I probably won’t make the trek again for this place based on the first experience. First, I walked in and noticed that the place had a funny smell. It smelled like fish. But before you think that’s okay, fresh fish isn’t supposed to have a strong smell! I thought it was a little disconcerting. My friend liked the smell, so… IDK. The nice thing is there are a lot of options for seafood, including tuna, albacore, salmon, scallops, and more. However, the cuts were not that neat. Portion size of the scoop was not large, so I feel like they should have at least made the cuts cleaner. The albacore also had something off going on with the taste. The salmon was fresh at least. 4 scoops for the large. There are a lot of things you can put on your poke, rice, seaweed, imitation crab, crunchy things, etc, which was nice. However, the taste overall wasn’t impressive. The sauce was lacking in oomph. I guess I’m also not a huge fan of places that pile a lot of sides on with a small amount of fish. I would have given 4 stars, but the girl helping us at the counter was not very friendly or welcoming. 3.5 stars. I’ll probably still head over to Northshore unless I’m in this area. I’m surprised that this place has such high reviews.

My good elite friend Esther S. and I LOVE poke and wanted to check this place out so we decided to go together! Service(2⁄5): the service wasn’t very good. The girl helping us behind the counter wasn’t very friendly, didn’t greet us and didn’t smile. She looked very unhappy and acted like she didn’t want to be there. It made us very uncomfortable. The girl at the register was much nicer and more friendly than the one serving food for us. Food(3⁄5): the portions here are pretty small and it’s sort of pricey for just two scoops of fish! Most places offer at least 3 scoops for a small size. Overall it’s not too bad. However they didn’t have masago which I was said about and the albacore had a weird smokey flavor to it that kind of threw off the taste of the entire poke bowl for me. Happy about the seaweed salad and huge portion of crabmeat though. Ambience/Interior(3⁄5): pretty nice and cute place! Love the minimalist design and the black wooden like tables. Overall not too bad, however I wouldn’t go out of my way for this place. Especially because I got a bad taste from the service.

Cute place in downtown Long Beach. It has the same idea as PokiNometry going on, with the customizable poke bowls and all. Upon entering, the fishy smell of the poke is pretty strong… There needs to be more ventilation here. Staff is really friendly and helpful. If you’ve never bene here before, they give you a whole rundown of the sizes and choices available. I like how seaweed salad and imitation crab is complimentary. Also, if you show them that you’ve checked in on Unilocal or Facebook, you get a free miso soup. The miso soup’s okay. I got a small bowl with a rice base and two choices of protein, in my case: scallops and salmon. The scallops were great. Salmon could’ve been fresher. It’s cool how you can also do nachos or a salad mix base. My friend did the nachos and loved it. All in all, it was alright. Nothing too amazing.
