This is a great spot!!! But lately I have come by and it appears to have closed. We have called to see what the status is, but no one answers. Can someone tell me is this place is still open for business???

This place is nothing special. The food is alright– and the service is the subpar. What kills me are there prices!!! You are going I charge over $ 8 for two eggs and bacon?! Plus another dollar for toast or fruit?! I understand times are tough but maybe this is why hardly anyone comes here.

Great food, staff, and now they have beer and wine available! Breakfast is the best. Typically I have a breakfast burrito or the healthy scramble. However they have light and fluffy pancakes that are not to be missed!

Food is greasy, place is filthy, service is horrible. Previously I Stopped once before at the café and had a sip of juice left in my paper cup that I brought with me on a walk. I was told that I can’t enter the café until I finish my drink outside. I will never go back to this hole in a wall.

We stopped in after seeing this place while walking by. I have to say, they have the friendliest, most accommodating staff I have ever had the pleasure of dining with. They offered great suggestions on the food too. We had the Sand Dabs, which is a mild white fish lightly breaded and served with rice and veggies. The fish was delicious and came with a really tasty tartar sauce. This meal also came with a chicken/rice/veggie soup that was very good. As much as I loved the fish I think the real star was dessert. It was a fresh from the oven, homemade, blueberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. This was pure heaven, and I’m not really a big fruit cobbler kind of person… I am dreaming of having this again soon! It sounds like they make different types, they also do a peach cobbler that I’m sure is just as divine!

I had lunch here mid-week with a group of friends out on the patio. The menu has something for everyone, with omelets, hash, griddle foods, hot dogs, sandwiches, salads and entrees. They have a tiny wine bar in the front. It’s very charming and fits in well with the beachy, yachty residential neighborhood. I was impressed with my chicken pesto panini and the generous side of fresh fruit. The server was friendly and attentive. The area is congested and doesn’t have a lot of parking available, but it’s also very pleasant for biking and walking so those are good ways to get here. The patio is great, with a big sun shade and plants. The only downer out there is that it’s in an alley, where there are also all the dumpsters for the surrounding apartment buildings. There were no bad smells, but there were quite a few flies cruising around. I want to go back and try more items, and try out the wine bar in the evening.

Not Dog Friendly… Decent food… Average service… Great location really close to my house. I feel like I have to go elsewhere… When the vibe is don’t bring your dog Sad… Could have been a good place…

LOVETHISPLACE!!! My fiancé and I live right down the street and come here all the time. Everything on the menu is fabulous but my favorite is the tuna melt it’s to die for, and I’m very picky about my tuna melts. It’s always clean and very cute. Love that all the same people always work there and are super friendly as well!!!

The first time I went I took my parents for Sunday brunch when they were visiting. The second time I took an out of town friend here. Everyone seemed to enjoy it. Location: easy to get to with phone maps. Parking not always easy since it’s in a small neighborhood. However, the neighborhood adds to the charm. Very close to the marina, and the beach. Rosie’s dog beach is only a mile away. Speaking of dogs: they have a lovely little backyard patio that’s dog friendly. They brought a bowl of water for my pups upon arrival. Ambiance: it looks like it used to be a home and was remodeled to be a restaurant. The outdoor patio is very quaint and cute with a little garden that attracts a lot of butterflies. Restrooms outside in the back. Everything is very clean from what I’ve seen. Price and Payment: They only take cash here but they have an ATM inside the restaurant and another one down the block. The prices are pretty good. I’d say the PPA is about $ 15 — $ 20. Food: Nobody was disappointed with their food but when they tasted my eggs Benedict they were blown away. Orange juice is good — not the fake sunnyD stuff. Coffee is very good. Service: everyone there is very friendly. The only thing I would say is I think they’re used to so many regulars that they expect people to know the routine of the restaurant. There isn’t a hostess so when you first walk in you’re just kind of standing around like, «do I wait or sit anywhere?» When someone eventually sees you they just kind of point at a table. Each time I’ve sat I’ve waited quite awhile. The menus are on the bar so i have just been getting up to grab them myself. By the time they get to the table for the first time I’m ready to order everything. Overall I would recommend this place for a relaxed brunch near the water. If you’re in a hurry and don’t have a lot of time to appreciate this place, it’s probably not for you.

Went back to Peninsula today, as we were visiting the neighborhood. Again, an amazing experience. The kids got the pancake combo(1 pancake, scramble egg and bacon). The pancake was shaped as farm animals. Very yummy and fun! I got the mediterranean omelette which was delicious and healthy. Definitely, we need to come back here more often!

Always love having Sunday breakfast here. Easy bike ride from Naples and a definite neighborhood vibe. Although pricey– normally worth it. Food this Sunday fell short– the hollandaise was separated and lumpy. And sparse. Hope thus isn’t a sign of the future. Would hate to see such a sweet place go down in flames.

went back out of sheer location desperation. thank god i can habla a lil bit, otherwise my phone order would’ve been completely botched. except i know i said hash browns with my omelet. i got no side, not even fresh fruit. I also didn’t get a receipt, which is a pet peeve for me. At least give me the option… To put a cap on it, I got no silverware with my to go order. Not even a freaking napkin.

I have been coming to this café since I was a student at CSULB(for 20 years) but this is the best it has been. It has changed hands a few times but Rosemary, the owner, offers fresh, healthy ingredients and down home recipes. I live across the street and I love rolling out of bed on a lazy Sunday and hopping over to the café for a rockin’ breakfast. They serve dinner on Wednesday and Saturday evenings, which typically features prime rib and fresh fish. They offered special menus for Valentines Day and Christmas. The staff is very friendly and greets most customers by name. Although another reviewer noted that there is no handicap parking, this is not within the owner’s control. The café is located on a small residential street and there are two very small parking lots that are private(tenants only). The only option is street parking. Amazing food, friendly staff, and great service. Check it out!

Hash browns were incredible. I had the Sailor’s Plate and it was more food than I could handle. Cute little neighborhood restaurant with amazing hash browns and they kept the coffee flowing! I will go back next time I am in Long Beach!

Took my family there for first time, we live a few blocks away, there was maybe 2 customers total eating breakfast and 5 people working, but we couldn’t seem to get any help, when we did the 2 older ladies were just rude un happy waitresses, no hello, no thank you, just very short and not friendly at all. For me customer service is number 1, who wants to go back to a crabby unhappy atmosphere for a family Sunday breakfast. My advice is a small resturant like yours who really depends on the local crowd, should make customer service number 1, I’m giving you 2 stars only cause your food was good but service was horrible, needs major improvement.

The Peninsula NEEDS an eatery. I am glad it’s here, because our brunch was great! I’m a little bummed there’s no beer/wine, but maybe they permit BYOB, and in any case it’s not a deal breaker. Our eggs Benedict, chili omelet(no beans, thank you!), and Reuben sandwich were delicious. They had just made a carrot cake, and even that was special — I think it had crumbled pralines in it. It has bare-bones décor, but the shaded patio needs no décor. Cash only, no prob. This unpublicized café depends on word-of-mouth. It serves the neighborhood and deserves to be a success.

I happened on this little place just this past weekend. Wow, it’s really cute and the food was excellent. We had a large table of 9 people so it took some doing to get us all fed at the same time… with orders of pancakes as appetizers. But Rosemary, the owner, and the cook managed it. The eggs benedict is perfect. Chocolate pancakes. and bacon pancakes were to die for. Eggs were done to perfection, each person wanted them different so that was pretty remarkable feat in a small place. Rosemary waited on us and she was nice and friendly. She has just recently acquired the place and it open to suggestions and idea. I know she wants to succeed and will, no doubt do so. She said that soon she’ll have a wine and beer license and will be doing dinner and probably a Sunday or Saturday brunch with maybe a little duo of some kind for live music. We learned a lot about her intent for the place. It’s off the beaten track and gets lots of locals. It’s décor is very cute and there is a really nice patio too.

This a lovely spot for lunch(and soon dinner as well!). On my second trip back I decided to dig into the Chili Omelet. OMG! Just fantastic. I can’t stop thinking about it. I also went for a side of the roast beef hash which was quite tasty as well. And you’ve got to try the bacon pancakes. They’re a revelation! I haven’t had a chance to try the lunch but I need to get back for the hot dogs. I can already tell they’re going to be right up my alley.
