The best memories of freshman year of college were here. But I’m going to be honest, I wanted to write this review to tell the story about my dining hall experience(one of many). I asked a dining hall staff member for Udon Noodle Soup and I was handed a cookie. I said«I’m sorry, I asked for Udon Noodle Soup». He stared at me and I was handed another cookies. At the end of this, I walked away with 2 cookies and no Udon Noodle Soup. The dorms are cool, the dining hall could be better, but is an interesting place where many stories will occur.

I find it amusing that it’s being labeled under«amusement parks». This residence was far from an amusement park. Well, I suppose if you enjoy hearing the same couple argue at 6am every other morning or watching a socially awkward fat freshman eating dinner at the dining hall by herself at 4 in the afternoon(the latter was me all those years ago!!!) then I guess it’s amusing. I lived here for only one school year and I have mixed feelings about it. The only really good thing to come out of here was my roommate Denise, who just happens to be a champion Unilocaler and all around amazing writer. I always find myself pretty lucky that I happen to get really awesome roommates, especially since whenever I talk to people who have lived with one(or two, or three), they always tell me horror stories about their dirty socks on the window sill or used condom on their bedsheets, idk idk. I originally picked this dorm(as oppose to Los Alamitos, Los Cerritos or whatever the fuck it’s called) because I read that, despite its suckage, it was probably the best residence out of all the halls. I mean, it was ok. I loved the freedom I had away from my parents. I loved the fast Internet connection and looking at other people’s iTunes libraries. I can’t imagine what the other residences on campus were like, though. I lived on the second floor, so it was a bitch trying to lug my fat ass up the stairs everyday. The rooms are so terribly small it hurts. I think the room I shared with Denise R is smaller than my room in my(parent’s) house. The beds are pretty rock hard. Did I mention the room was really small? Because it was. The common bathrooms were only disgusting to me because I hate seeing hair in the sink or overhearing the same couple who just argued make up by having sex in the stall next to me. DONOTWANT. I think the«rent» every month for this place was way too overpriced and not worth the overall feel and privileges of living in a dorm. If the suites and buildings were all apartment-style, complete with a kitchen and a possibly larger, more homey-looking room, then I think it would be ~worth the price of admission~. Dorms are really good for outgoing people if they want to make friends and party all night. I suggest you rent an apartment or commute from home(like I do now) if you attend CSULB, but if you must dorm, then Parkside Commons is a-ok. I guess.
