History
Established in 2005.
Michael Barber, took over operation of Paradise from Heidi Hoffman in 2005. The building was built in 1922 as a hardware store. Previous renovations added the bar area that came from a demolished Bank of America building that was located on Pine Ave. The large bronze eagle used to sit a top a flag pole on Ocean Blvd and the chandeliers came from a dance club, Fire Island. The mirrors behind the bar that say ‘Paradise’ came from the old Woolworth soda shop on Pine Ave, that was named the Paradise as well.
Our sister bar is right down the street on Broadway and Falcon. It was purchased on January 2nd, 1996. The Falcon, I have been told, sells more liquor per sq. ft. then any bar in California. Maybe that’s why they call it the ‘World famous Falcon’.
Come on down for good food, drinks, and company!
