Nike Factory Store

I was pretty stoked when I found out this location was going to open back in September of last year and was even one of many who waited in that long line opening day. I also work nearby, so it is a very convenient location. Maybe I have huge expectations considering I frequent the San Ysidro and Camarillo locations, but I can’t say the Long Beach location is one of the more larger stores. I’m a huge flyknit /​air max guy and this location doesn’t carry as many options as do other locations. Yes I understand it’s an outlet store and styles are limited to begin with, but there are other Nike outlet locations of this same size that have carried more colorways of a particular model/​style. Not something I’d expect from a location Nike would open in Long Beach. For the most part, service has been good as employees are quick to ask if you need assistance. But my review of this location is mainly weighted on employee product knowledge — I’ve experienced having to correct employees on specific models I’d initially inquire about via phone or in-​store (i.e. I’d ask if they carried Flyknit Racers — they say yes they do then direct me to the Flyknit Lunar 2 or Flyknit Free 4.0). Completely different shoe and if you aren’t familiar with a product a customer may be inquiring about over the phone, just flat out say you don’t know. May save the customer the trip of driving over to the store only to discover they don’t actually carry that model. I’m not expecting these employees to be hardcore shoe-​head experts, but at least be more knowledgeable about the products before providing customers a confirmed response.

This review is about the lack of common sense of the Manager on duty that led to a bad customer service experience during a visit to the store today, 1÷1÷2016.
My husband and I went to the Nike Factory store on New Year’s Day, at around 2pm. The store itself has a decent selection of products and is organized pretty well. While we were shopping we noticed that a Nike Dri-​Fit FZ hoodie jacket that we had bought for my dad as a Christmas present for $ 49.99 on ¹²⁄₂₀ was now $ 49.99, but with an additional 30% off. Luckily for us still had the receipt in his wallet. The policy on the receipt stated a 14-​day price guarantee policy (we were at day 12). My husband suggested I bring one of the hoodies off the rack to the counter to do the price adjustment to show it’s the same item since the UPC code is the same as the receipt.
We brought the hoodie to the register, along with another item we wanted to purchase, and asked for a price guarantee. The girl on register, who seemed new, brought the Manager on duty (it was a female
manager, we unfortunately didn’t get her name) over. The Manager stated it’s a 14-​day policy, which the cashier confirmed we were in the timeframe, and said that the original product had to be present so they could scan the tag. The cashier said we didn’t have it, but that the hoodie from the rack was the same exact item as the one on the receipt. The Manager claimed that it had to be the original one because of the item number on there was specific to the item that as sold to us. My husband brought up how the UPC on the receipt and the one we brought over are exactly the same, we weren’t returning it, only wanting a price guarantee. The Manager said they couldn’t without the original item and the tags, as it’s their policy. She then went off to do whatever she was doing.
The hoodie was given to my dad as a Christmas gift the week before, which he likes and wears so the tags were thrown away. We weren’t looking to return the product, we only wanted a price adjustment which followed the 14-​day price guarantee policy. The Manager on duty clearly lacks some common sense, or just really doesn’t care about customer service. The cashier was nice, and even asked if we live nearby and could go get the original item. We told her we don’t, but it wouldn’t matter because we threw out the original tag. My husband repeated that the policy makes no sense considering the all of the jackets had the SAME UPC code. The cashier was very sympathetic with our situation, but stated that it’s what her Manager said so she has to do what her Manager says. We ended up purchasing the other product anyways.
I’ve never had a retail clothing place request that I bring in the original item with the original tags when a price guarantee for the same product within the acceptable time period is being requested. My husband and I have frequented this Nike Factory Store multiple times and have typically had a good experience. Unfortunately, this trip was disappointing… and hopefully the other Managers at the store have a lot more common sense and a care for customer service than the Manager that was on duty this day. Hopefully whoever is the main Manager at this location will re-​train the other on-​duty leads about how to provide better customer service, especially when it’s a reasonable request that follows the guidelines… somehow I don’t think REQUIRING customers to bring in the original product with the original tags are typically required for a price guarantee. Not a return, which I would understand the need for the product and tags, but a PRICE ADJUSTMENT within the 14-​day policy and the UPC is the same as the receipt. But that’s just me and my way of thinking, I typically have some common sense.

Much like the Nike Outlet in the Citadel about 25 miles away, the selection is average. They do however have some basketball shoes that might not be available at the Citadel store. Lots of last season Kobe’s and Jordan’s are still available for those that are looking for a bargain. As for apparel, they do have a good selection of running gear compared to the Citadel store. The clearance racks are sparse, but that just means more quality is on the normal shelves. It’s also slightly smaller than the Citadel store because it’s only 1 story, but at least it’s much more open and spacious so your not having to bump elbows with people going down the aisles. It’s still relatively unknown, so the crowds are still small. Go here while it’s still a hidden gem!

I believe a person’s shopping experience begins right when they enter the store so greeting customers is a very important thing in my opinion. None of the staff said anything to us and no one offered any help. We were there for a good 10 minutes.

Pretty nice size store. I went in for my moms present and ended up with a ton of other stuff for cheap ! Thanks to Rod he helped a bunch, helped me find what I needed and even rang me up right on the spot. Thank you, thank you, thank you ! Make sure to ask for Rod next time. Trust. He’ll help.

I came in the morning of Black Friday and a few days before that. Both times, I had attentive customer service. Staff members came by to ask if I needed help. On Black Friday, two staff members helped me! I’m fairly new to the world of sneakers so they were informative and helpful. The deals were also good too. The Free 5.0+‘s seems to never go on sale even on online discount stores (retail price is $ 100ish) but they had the black/​white ones for $ 85. (With the Black Friday discount, I got them for less than $ 70). Pretty awesome!

So happy we have a Nike store in Long Beach now. I don’t usually write reviews for stores, but the employee Denaun was so extremely helpful and friendly and he was just especially deserving of this review. He is doing a great job, especially since it’s the weekend of Black Friday. We all know how crazy retail stores are this time of year. Give this guy a raise/​promotion. Colette the cashier was also very nice too.

After my 5k Race downtown LB, I decided to look around the shops at the new Pike. I proceed into Nike store. My eyes were wide. I found a huge sale and I’m a sneaker head. So I get assistance from a young Asian guy, who was very helpful. I bought 3 pair of Nike for my kids. Now gifts for myself. I found a pair of air max and 2 pairs of running shoes. The price was great. The store is empty early mornings on Saturdays. They also validate parking as well. I will return very soon.

Excellent service! The staff was awesome… very polite. Two gentlemen by the names of Jonathan and Kyle were the best! I would recommend anyone to shop there.

This is a pretty new NIke Factory store in the area. Very typical size, they offer good deal in older air max and jordans, and even kobe. Non shoes deal is just ok, the clearance section is quite weak.
Service is noticeable better in this store, they offer validated parking which is up to 2 hours in the lot nearby.

Didn’t expect this here, but its an actual nike factory outlet looks like the stores around here have been converted to factory outlets. Its not a giant store i would say about the same stuff as the citadel outlet one. They had some nike drifit golf shirts which helps for those hot summers so i’m not dripping from flop sweat after being outdoors.
The one thing i noticed here is an area for kids sizes

If you want help, go elsewhere! A sales clerk was helping us and informed us the manager was checking into an item we wanted. Apparently the manager informed him the item was not available. Although, it would’ve been nice if the sales clerk informed us. We found this out on her own 20 minutes later. Luckily while waiting I was calling other STORES to check on availability.

Good store. Prices are really low. Lot of clearance. Everybody walking out had a bag. Not a good shoe collection. That is why I put 4 STARS.

So far so good, great customer service, new styles, and great prices, and finally a Nike store around here.

Service is amazing here! Every staff member was super helpful and friendly. FYI for parking there are meter parking on the street and also a parking structure right behind Nike in which you will need to get validation for and pay the amount at the machine.

Made it to the grand opening on September 24, 2015. Waiting in line for the store to open. I can’t wait!
