Naples Island

*A gem (Naples Peninsula) far from the hoods rats reach, somewhat, but the police & Marine Patrol keep that ilk over past The Veteran’s Pier & beyond diligently!
So beautiful on a blustery breezy cold winter night with all the glistening Christmas lights and decorations!
Also, a great spot to view the Christmas Boat Parade too, ring side seating at it’s best folks!
Anytime is a good time to walk as I do, and I recommend walking along the back side of the residences to enjoy the bay & the ambiance of gardens of many types manicured, full of oxygen & spender.
Naples Peninsula on check in because it’s so close & connected, and many come to fish from the jetty that extends far out at least 1,500 feet to provide that experience.
The park is a wonderful, and summer concerts here are much better, more intimate than over in Signal Hill, and with a much better group of people too.
Boat rental storage is available, and the residents are a mixed batch, 2 of our former Mayors live here, and Marty & I have be-​friended many, Robin & her pooches are a great find & good company here on our walks and, we have attended many gatherings too which are full of great folks.
Also, I succeeded in getting a rental property for a song here 6 months back, and so far the renters of this little 1 bedroom, 1 bath (who are Unilocalers) like the place.
We do on occasion get asked if we live in the area, and don’t mind, that lets us know that the neighborhood watch is in full force, and my rental property too is in good hands.
Check it out, all of it, The Naples Peninsula & Naples & the Island, the quaint & appealing environment will have you escaping your angst, and enjoying architecture of days gone by.
This area has somewhat of a sexy draw, with sexy people, so sexy are the boys & girls, it’s kind of like saying:

This is like my home away from home. I am lucky to get to spend a lot of time here and just loving this part of town more and more. It’s beautiful here day and night. Great for morning and evening walks. Waking up to fresh air and opening the front door of the view of the ocean is absolutely stunning!
The pros. Lots of restaurants on second street. And minutes to Seal Beach.
The cons. Streets are so narrow! No parking space when friends come over to visit. We threw a super Bowl party here and had our guests parked at the circle and walked over or we went to pick them up and drove them back to the house.

A must during Christmas time!!! Make it a tradition.
Naples island/​2^nd street. Hidden gem!
I came during Christmas time & they Christmas lights & what’s perfect is there’s a small side way path-​way that you take to look @ all the lights during the holiday season that you follow and get lost in.
Super quiet & very small private community with beautiful homes. Many decorations in the windows out up for you and viewing.
Pick up a hot chocolate and walk this fun cherry romantic path with the family or your significant other. No crowds which is awesome

The waterfall is a must picture.

A definite must during the Christmas season! My boyfriend finally took me on Christmas Day to look at all the pretty Christmas lights & decorations.
All you need to know is… find parking, dress warm, bring a camera and enjoy! You basically walk along the pathway – passing by all the pretty houses and awe at the decorations. I don’t know about you but I loooove Christmas lights! It’s just so pretty to look at and it puts me in a cheery mood :)
There was one house that was SUPER decked out and swarming with people taking photos. We were one of them ;)
If you don’t have a handy selfie stick… ask someone to take a photo for you and your friend or loved one. and return the favor by doing the same for them! :)

We really enjoyed ourselves here. If you go do the canal loop. There’s really nothing to see but some really nice houses, a beach and the canal. We kinda like checking out different neighborhoods so this appealed to us. Also, we came on the day of the Naples Boat Parade and Holiday Party. During the day we were the only ones walking around. When we returned in the evening to see the lights we were joined by at least ten thousand other folks that flooded the neighborhood to take in the sights. It was an amazing spectacle and folks were really getting into the holiday spirit!

Love this place during the Christmas season it’s cold but you feel so warm and fuzzy with all the beautiful lights :)

Amazing neighborhood! We walked through here during the day, during a visit to the Long Beach area. Each home is unique and beautiful in its own way. We went back at night to see all of the Christmas lights on the houses, and they happened to be having the annual boat parade as well. What an incredible sight! Residents decorate their boats with Christmas lights in addition to their homes. The neighborhood was lined with folks getting into the Christmas spirit with this great event. I highly recommend a stroll through this neighborhood even when it’s not Christmas time. But if you are lucky enough to go during the holiday season, it’s quite an experience.

My boyfriend took me here and this place is such a hidden gem around Long Beach! This review is meant for the little lake in Ocean Blvd and 54^th PL I was surprised how this place is not so packed! There’s a lake and even a boardwalk where you can hang out and dip your feet on the water. We parked in front of Leeway Sailing Center: make sure to bring quarters for the metered parking but around afternoon, it’s free anyways: D We planned on going here and just hang out. It’s a little beach across the beach, ha. Well, it’s a lake to me and the water is very warm even on a cold windy day. This place has a teepee looking restaurant that is not being used, and you can even go on the rooftop and chill. They also offer tennis court and handball courts. Oh, you can also shower and do whatever, since they have huge bathroom! There’s this cool tiki statue and a big ass treasure chest which I like, of course. This summer, it’s a great place just to relax with few beers

This is such a hidden gem of a community in Long Beach. The Naples organizations put together events for the residents and visitors such as: Summer concerts & movies, pancake breakfast, fun run, 4^th of July bike parade, Christmas Boat & Light Parade, Easter Egg hunt. Some of the most beautiful homes in Long Beach or all of California for that matter are found here on a canal, bay or quaint streets. Boats, gondolas, kayaks and paddle boarders meander through the canals during the day and night. Make sure you visit one of the many different eateries found on Naples. Great food!!! This is such a great place to live and visit. Who knew that all this and more can be found in the greater Los Angeles area. No need to travel to Italy. Just come down to Naples. After all «Naples is Nicer».

NAPLES ISLAND hopping!
Living near the beach this is a cool little HIDDEN GEM right smack between Long Beach and Seal Beach! I believe it is STILL part of LA County but it has the feel of the OC and the prices of the homes reflex that as well!
If you’re lucky to be a resident of Naples and you have kids there schools in this teeny tiny area are rather GREAT and you can see the kids benefiting from our tax dollars! They are NOT rundown and don’t resemble a prison either like most do! I’m never sure whether the schools are trying to keep the kids out or in these days but none of that here!
When I lived on 2^nd Street about 2 blocks away I would run in the early morning through Naples Island. Even though I HATE running I LOVED the quiet of the mornings there! If I wasn’t running I was walking through in the afternoons enjoying the pelicans diving into the water for food. It is pretty interesting to watch!
All the residents that live on NAPLES ISLAND are SUPER DUPER NICE! Always saying help, walking their fur babies as I walked mine and just enjoying the easy inlet beach life.
The great thing about living on NAPLES ISLAND is that you don’t get the high gust of winds that you do on the Peninsula side. You also don’t get the water invading your home when the tide is high! A bit of a bummer living right on the sand/​beach pathway! But you don’t see people HATING it so much they are moving out in droves! NOPE they suck it up and enjoy!
Just like 2^nd street they do a taste of NAPLES which is GREAT to try all the different restaurants that are in NAPLES! They don’t have many but they are all GOOD! As with all beach cities parking can be a hassle but you have to know when to go! And if I told you I’d have to kill you so I’ll just keep that little tidbit to myself!
Christmas time is my favorite because all the homes on the canals decorate. And I’m NOT talking about they just put up a string of lights eight! They go balls to the walls and pull out all the stops! It is SOOO PRETTY! Some homes have hot cider or coco to drink with cookies and others might have carolers singing. It is really quite nice! A GREAT family friendly thing to do on a nice cold crisp December night! I LOVE IT! I usually get little dingy boat and ride around. Or you can try renting the hydro-​bikes and take a gondola at night to see the lights! It has a different feel at night from the water and you don’t have the hassle of parking or the crowds walking!
This sleepy little inlet beach city is AWESOME to visit or live! And it is a pretty well-​kept secret! Most people don’t even know it exist because it sort of tucked away! You pass through it without even realizing you have! Which for me is perfect because they don’t have the crowds that other beach cities have!
Rock on NAPLES ISLAND!

This is an annual pilgrimage/​tradition for my family. We come to this charming, quaint, neighborhood every year in mid December to walk the waterways and enjoy the festive Christmas spirit.
You see, these people do not mess around when it comes to holiday lights, the houses are all amazing! So worth the drive, a tradition that includes a good dinner in Belmont shores before embracing the beautiful details these people put into decorating their charming homes — a special neighborhood on showcase for all to behold, a holiday treat! Thanks to the people of Naples!

A big problem with myself, I hate to travel. I have a big fear of being in a airplane. However, this place is my getaway from home. I like to be around island like environment and this is the place to be not too far from home. It is very nice here and the people that live in this community are very friendly. My favorite place to also stop by during a bad day. Anyone who is stopping by California should check this place out.

Naples Island is small but super cute and there is a ton to see, do and eat everywhere!
It’s clearly touristy, but also funky and young, I love strolling and checking out the shops, reading the menus in the restaurant windows and enjoying what seems like worlds away from LA or even Long Beach itself.
Worth stopping if your in the area.
