After both having previously worked at larger law firms, attorneys Daniel McGee and Catherine Lerer decided to open their own practice with a more focused, and smaller, case load. By focusing on serious injury and wrongful death cases, and limiting the number of cases we accept, we are able to be provide a level of personalized service that you are unlikely to find elsewhere.

Other Firms: you may only speak to the attorney when you case is first signed up. After that, you only speak to secretaries, legal assistants or voicemail.

Our Firm: When you call our office, you speak to Catherine or Dan. This includes afterhours and weekends, when our business number rolls over to our cell phones. We believe that in serious injury or wrongful death cases, clients should be able to reach their attorney when they need to.

Daniel M.

Business Owner

Partner Daniel McGee attained his undergraduate degree from USC, then attended Whittier College School of Law. He is a member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, and has been a featured speaker at the organization’s annual convention.

Prior to opening his own firm, he managed one of California’s leading personal injury law firms, where he was proud to have been a part of a team that achieved a record verdict (over $ 25,000,000) against a sheriff’s department.

Partner Catherine Lerer attained her undergraduate degree from UCLA, and law degree from Whittier College School of Law. She is a member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles.

She is an experienced litigator and trial attorney. She has arbitrated, mediated and tried hundreds of cases and has successfully settled over a thousand cases.

After being in a motorcycle accident and needing surgery the other persons insurance was quick to deny fault. Only having liability at the time I needed some help. After calling around and leaving messages at a few law firms they were quick to get back to me. They took my case and were amazing with working with me. They were quick to email or call back whenever I had questions. They helped me obtain the money from the insurance company to pay my surgical bills. I’ll try not to make this too long, but Mcgee, Lerer, and Associates are amazing. Catherine and Ryan were specifically working on our case and we couldn’t of asked for anyone better. They were genuine and you could tell they wanted to help us out. I remember calling Catherine at 3 am one night because I felt helpless, she answered the phone at this time and no matter how bad my case was she was willing to help. Me and my girlfriend were involved in the car accident and we both were expecting a total loss. Thankfully Catherine’s team worked their magic and got us way more than what we expected. They always answer your calls, and believe me, we wouldn’t stop dialing their number trying to get updated. It was a long run, but I’m glad I found them, I would recommend them to anyone. I absolutely love McGee, Lerer, & Associates!!! If you’re ever in a minor pickle or a major fender bender with injury they are indeed the people to call. Catherine is a sweetheart and a gem to work with. I am very fortunate to have met her and her husband/​partner Dan who is also a wonderful person and together they make an excellent team who are very good at what they do. Catherine and her firm are honest, very trustworthy, does not beat around the bush, will go an extra million miles for you, will always be in constant contact regarding updates, case status etc. via email or by phone everyday which includes the weekends. What I loved the most which makes her firm by far number 1 is she never ever makes you feel insignificant. Please do not overlook the 5 star ratings it is 5 stars and then some for a reason. Recently, I successfully settled my personal injury case with the help of McGee/​Leher. An incident occurred a little over a year ago that resulted in an injury and shortly after I knew I was going to need a lawyer. I interviewed several and chose McGee/​Leher. I contacted Catherine Lerer from viewing the many positive reviews she received on Unilocal.After having experienced two flakey attorney’s prior, it was refreshing to speak with an attorney who personally answered the phone (when she was out of the office) and took over a half hour asking detailed questions and offering stellar hands-​on advise. Since my case was comparatively small (no broken bones), she suggested I consider taking on the case myself, and if I wasn’t satisfied with the final settlement offer from the insurance company, to then hire an attorney. Catherine nearly spent more time with me than my last attorneys. I wish I would have contacted her first!

I found Catherine Lerer and Dan McGee last year via online search after not being satisfied with two different attorney referrals from friends. My son was rear ended last year while sitting at a red light. I knew from my own experience that he will be in pain the rest of his life; the family of the driver who was responsible whisked him back to his country very soon after the accident because the driver was not a US citizen, had no insurance, no drivers license and was driving someone else’s rental car. We were left with paying medical out of our own pockets…(Uninsured Motorist doesn’t cover much!) I will just say we were very comfortable after meeting Catherine and spoke with Dan on a few occasions. Working with an attorney for additional funds to cover medical expenses was easier than trying to work with our insurance company on our own. Their office was always very responsive and we feel it was worth the attorney fees to have them in our corner. I highly recommend this law firm and will use them again if the unfortunate need ever arises.

My brother had unexpectedly died and my motor vehicle was severely rear-​ended and front-​ended. All within a matter of days! I was a mess physically and mentally. I hoped I was in good hands when I was searching online for an attorney in Long Beach and came across the name «Catherine Lerer.» Though I am not Catholic, I knew of Saint Catherine. Her debating skill and persuasive language led to her patronage of lawyers.
Saint Catherine was tortured on the wheel. I felt I had been tortured by the donkey that hit me when I was behind the wheel!
Attorney Catherine’s last name is a variation of German word «Lehrer». I speak German so the surname also meant something to me. Everything just fell into place and I sent her an email after discovering her that night. It was a weekend. She actually gave me a call that same evening. Awesome!
Catherine is still working on other aspects of my case; however, she was able to provide me with the peace of mind I so needed and was relying upon. That was the best relief!
I must particularly emphasize the opportunity Catherine gave me to rest and heal as I processed the compounded events in my life that left me devastated. It was a relief, indeed, not to also worry if I had made the right choice in choosing an attorney.

Catherine represented me after I was hit by a car while biking to work and had over 32,000 dollars worth of medical expenses to sort through. She was incredibly helpful in explaining to me the standard routines of working with an attorney (which I never had done before), the typical outcomes of situations like mine, and my other options for resolving the matter. The times that Catherine wasn’t available to speak with directly, her associates were very timely and friendly. The police offer at the scene had originally claimed the fault of the accident on me, but Catherine looked into all the legalities involving crosswalks and bike lanes in the district and in the end results favorited me and completely covered my loss-​of-​earnings, and then some. I am so relieved and grateful to have finished this process with them.

I can’t recommend this law firm strongly enough.
If you are badly injured like I was (after being rear-​ended on the 405 freeway; my car had $ 18,000+ in damage; I couldn’t work for two months; and then could only work with restrictions) then you need an aggressive lawyer on your side. I actually hired another firm first, but wasn’t happy with them. They never returned my calls. I never knew what was going on with my case, and I never even spoke to a lawyer — only assistants. Also, they didn’t know what diminished value was, and I wanted to make a diminished value claim on my car. So I found McGee & Lerer and they were the opposite of the first firm. I spoke to Dan McGee on my first call to the office. I met with him and his partner that day. It was easy to change lawyers and I am SO GLAD I did! I received way more money than I expected and I am very grateful. Thanks Team McGee!

I just talked to Dan and Catherine over an accident case on my motorcycle that I have been fighting with my lawyer for the last almost 3 years.
They were very helpful in helping me to understand stuff that my own lawyer never took the time to sit down and go over with me. In just 10 minutes over the speaker phone in their vehicle, they gave me several ideas and questions how to approach my lawyer for a better understanding.
I really wish I would have found these two great lawyers in the first place. Not to be depending on these so called motorcycle attorneys.
