Here at McAfee Percussion Academy we offer private music lessons for percussionists of all styles. Looking for assistance to advance in your musical endeavors? Give us a call, and we can set up your first lesson to help you on your way!

We offer lessons for mallet percussion (marimba, vibraphone, xylophone, bells), drum set, snare drum, and hand percussion (congas, bongos, frame drums)

History

Established in 2014.

The McAfee Percussion Academy was created to assist percussionists in the Long Beach area. While teaching in-​home lessons and classes at local schools, Andrew McAfee discovered that students often don’t own the variety of instruments that a percussionist is expected to play. To remedy this, Andrew began teaching lessons out of his home where students can practice using high quality instruments.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Andrew McAfee is a dynamic educator with years of experience teaching students of all ages. He recently graduated from the prestigious Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, where he studied classical percussion, jazz, and Afro-​Cuban music. A native to southern California, Andrew obtained his bachelors degree from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University Long Beach.

Andrew’s love for teaching has been on display in private settings, as well as classrooms. He enjoys developing new techniques to inspire and challenge students to maximize their potential while also providing a fun environment.
