Love the long beach flying club! Great place to learn how to fly. The environment and staff is very friendly and helpful, the prices are great & instructors very supportive! Highly recommend

I travel for work and spent around about 10 months in Long Beach in 2013. I was looking for a place to fly at the weekends or on nights after my work and after checking out a few ‘clubs’ in the area I decided to settle with LBFC. Their instructors and staff are knowledgeable, their members are friendly and their rates are unbeatable. I never done any training here — I simply done a proficiency check and started renting. There were always aircraft available if I booked in advance. Highly recommended.

So far my flight training at Long Beach Flying Club has been great and I’m happy with all instructors and aircrafts. Also when a plane has problem their mechanics work on it right away to fix the problem before the flight. Being as international student at flying club, operation manager is really kind and always listen students and give us advises and really helpful. Also at flying club I’m having great friends from different countries, different cultures, and different age. I think this is great opportunity. I do well recommend this flight school to someone who is interest to get pilot license or come to USA and do flight training! Long Beach Flying Club is the best place to lean how to fly for sure!

I went in to take my niece on a ride and was really amazed at the experience! Lorenzo was our pilot and did a great job making us feel comfortable and safe (my niece was really nervous before). We got to see the disneyland fireworks at night. we’ll never forget this! Thanks for being professional and making it so fun :)

I love LBFC.
I received all my licenses Private through CFI in this club in about 9 months even though i wasted some time on purpose during my training. I chose this club because it is the least expensive in Southern California (maybe in the world?).
I knew the airplanes were a bit old but a friend of mine used to be a student and a CFI in this same club in the late 80s told me that the airplanes are very well maintained and the club has an impeccable safety record.
During my training here i talked to students in other flight schools in Long Beach airport and i found out that even though some schools have new Glass Cockpit airplanes (that are pretty expensive with no added benefit to the student) a lot of the students weren’t getting adequate instruction and it wasn’t uncommon to see a full-​time student who spent a big amount of money working on his Private for a year!
Many flight schools in LGB came in and out of business and LBFC have been there for more than 30 years.

I am currently doing my Private Pilot Training here. The staff are the friendliest around and the most helpful around. When I was searching for flight schools this place stood out miles above the rest. They took their time explaining the whole process and answered all my questions. The counter staff are all pilots and know what they are talking about.
They fleet of training aircraft maybe a little older the rest, but that helps keep them affordable. Despite their age, the in house maintenance crews keep them safe and airworthy at all times.
The instructors here are top notch and really know their stuff. They are friendly and approachable. They are able to work with your budget and help you get the best out of your training.

The club is still the beat deal in town. The instructors are experienced and care about their students. The maintenance is good and the pipers are typically available.

I had a terrific experience here. I chose the demo flight for $ 89 and was given an awesome flight to the port of los angeles and great views of Rancho Palos Verdes. The instructor was knowledgeable and professional. I felt safe and was allowed to fly for most of the flight.

I got my private pilot license to all the way through flight instructor license (CFI), and ATP at Long Beach Flying Club. If there had been any problems with the club or instructors I would not have got all my licenses here. Yeah, airplanes are relatively older, yet maintained well kept and price is unbeatable in fact the lowest in California. They got two of the nicest mechanics around. So if there is a minor maintenance issue, it will be fixed in few hours which is extremely rare in typical flight school. Most instructors are highly experienced (former and current airline pilots, military pilots and etc) unlike other flight schools that hire only newly certified instructors. And they are very friendly. Management acts very quick to any problems. I would recommend this school to anyone seeking to get pilot license.
