LBS Financial Credit Union

I only do basic banking with this bank… checking and small savings. I only use the bank because it’s walking distance to my home. Dealt with a rude manager in the past at the the Spring street location and he did not seem to care. He’s still working there and always ignores me. No hello, no welcome to the bank name nothing. Also, many times there has been long lines with 1 or 2 tellers and a bunch of other workers walking around or sitting. My daughter ordered a debit card and is still waiting for the pin number to arrive in the mail and it’s been almost 3 months. She has called numerous times to request the pin and each time they said they will send it out. Will see if this last call will result in the pin number to arrive. Ridiculous that she has had to wait this long.

Love the fact that you can get one free bank check a month. Which I use for rent but I’m sitting here now. No customers and I’ve been waiting 10 minutes. 4 women at their desk one on phone. Another helping something and one doing paper work. The fourth came out saw me sitting and played with paper until the front desk lady told her I was waiting. Overheard her say she didn’t see me then she told me that she didn’t know I was waiting. Thought I was with someone else. Wtf lorie

What a poor excuse of a credit union. Just found finance charges of 50% on my statement. Apparently, we are being charged a daily interest rate on top of an annual interest rate. I called the supervisor for LBS Credit Union and she stated that there was nothing that she can do. I make my $ 323.36 payments every month. My payment is due in the 11^th of every month with a ten day grace period. So here’s how my statement reads:

I am beyond irate and feel completely duped! I feel completely taken advantage of with this loan. This is highway robbery. I thought by going to a credit union, that I would be «safe». Apparently not! I am completely beside myself at this point. When we signed the contract, nobody EVER mentioned a 5% daily interest rate to my husband and I. I would have ran the other way. My husband and I have 750+ credit and we were only told that the annual interest rate would be 6.50% on the loan. THATS IT!
Furthermore, it’s interesting how on my statement there is no mention of a daily interest rate of 5%. No where on my statement does it say that!
Please, do not choose LBS Financial Credit Union for your banking needs. There are other Credit Unions out there that won’t take advantage of you.

Can’t accept payment from another bank account/​debit/​credit online at all. They want you to put money into an account that they make you at LBS. Then they try and make you pay it from that account. What a joke. Then if you do online bill-​pay at your respectable bank it takes LBS 6+ days just to process it and take the money. Yet everyone else either takes it the same day they get it, or even a day early. Gentlemen on the phone insists they process it the day they get it. I call BS, it probably sits in a box on someones desk while they use a type writing to file it.
LBS Needs to spend some money and get a website that isn’t from 1998. This is the biggest let down ever. I have amazing credit, I just hope my credit doesn’t get ruined because their payment options are horrible. LBS said on a Unilocal that they will accept payments online starting late 2015, then in another it says early 2016, whats next? Late 2016, then early 2017? Maybe they’ll accept it once I pay my loan off. Eh.

It was a great experience, quick, and helped me with all the steps I needed to accomplish ! The woman that helped me was awesome. (Forgot her name, oops) :)

I don’t like this credit union at all, my husband is just afraid to move on. I have been carrying an 760 credit score for about 4 yrs now. I have no outstanding debts or collections on either of my three reports, but for some reason the two times I tried to transfer my car loan over to them I was denied. Between my husband, my children an myself we have 4 accounts with them at times holding up to thirty thousand dollars, an they wouldn’t finance 8,000??? We have paid off several car loans with not one late fee. Just makes me think these people were discriminating against us. I wish they would stop sending me stuff in the mail about low interest loans since we are not worthy of getting one.

Probably one of the most inept credit unions I’ve ever had the displeasure of banking with. Their site and technology is outdated. You can’t make online payments.
You have to go into the branch to set up a withdrawal from another credit union. The workers are near useless. I previously had an auto deduct to pay for a motorcycle loan the dealer set up for me through this institution. I changed credit unions so I had to reset the source withdrawals so I go in to reestablish and what do they tell me? It can’t be done… so I apparently have been imagining the withdrawls system they already set up for me. After I correct the receptionist she tells me I can make a payment at the teller. I get to the teller, but because my other credit union account is Mastercard I can’t do it from the teller. They make me go to the atm outside to pull out the payment in cash and then pay the teller.
Seriously. The worst.

Just got a vehicle and should have just went with USAA for the loan instead of being talked into this bank at the dealership. You don’t take payments online using another bank? Calling my bank to see if I can just switch the loan over without huge fees. My credit will not suffer because I have a late payment because I have to write a check and send it to you like I live in the 1990s.

This bank sucks will rip you off and won’t cut you any breaks no matter what stay away from this bank if you want to save money don’t go there rd

I must be in a 5 star mood today. I never have a problem coming into this bank. I bank with Partners Federal Credit Union, but come in here to complete transactions on a monthly basis. Every teller is super friendly and I always end up striking up a nice conversation with each and every one of them. I know people dread going to the bank and would rather complete transactions online or with autopay, but I enjoy a good old fashioned bank teller any day!

We love this bank and I know you will too. As far as banks go we are very happy with LBSFCU. ATM’s are free at any FCU even if it is another bank. That is a huge plus for us!

Horrible. Good luck changing an address. They make you jump through hoops to get your own bill. I guess no members ever move or update there address because they are lost when you call and try to give them a new address. Thanks for making moving even more frustrating.

Terrible and Confusing customer service. This is for one specific person handling IRA’s. Our family’s been with this Credit Union since the 70’s. I wanted to have a direct transfer of my IRA from another Credit Union to this one. The Asian woman (only mentioned because she seemed confused and perhaps should not be dealing directly with IRA or any tax related issues) was unable to help with my request. We had already called before hand and knew this could be done easily with a wire transfer. This customer service person wanted to mail the request and have the other institute mail a check back. Because of the time it would take to do this, she said I’d have to have them put the money in a temporary account or I might be taxed on it. Well if it wasn’t before it surely would have been then. In today’s business where most transactions are done electronically, the idea of mailing was ludicrous. After listening to her patiently, I realized she hadn’t a clue and no longer trusted her judgement. Thanked her and decided I’d pick up the check myself (Corona). The other institute confirmed all could have been done electronically. Thanks for the long drive and terrible traffic Lady! As of yet I haven’t gone back to LBSFCU. When I’m ready this is not the branch I’ll visit. Note to others: If it doesn’t feel right… its okay to stop and walk away. No amount of waiting or driving is worth seeing a bad transaction completed.

As soon as I arrived to the outside line I wasn’t even greeted! Example: hi welcome to LBSFCU, how can I help you? Claudia the girl who helped me looked disturbed by just me being there to pay my loan. I will change my review once this approached to customers changes. At least act like u care just a little, I will help.

I opened an account here when I recently moved to Long Beach. The woman opening my account was helpful, efficient, and explained all my options. The teller that I dealt with before I joined was so friendly and helpful that I was moved to open an account immediately. I have used their apps, online bill pay, and automatic deposit and they have all worked flawlessly. Sometimes when I go into the bank I wait for 3 – 5 people ahead of me, but the line moves fast. On off hours, I don’t wait at all. The tellers are very friendly, and others have been very patient with lost passwords, forgotten security questions, and so on.
There is a parking lot, and it is just a few blocks from 7^th Street — my main route in and out of LB. (This review is about the 10^th Street branch.)

Have Been a member of this credit union since 1981, Service has surly fallen way below par. I live out of the area and with the service I have been receiving it is time to move on. They have my money and refuse to give it to me. I simply just want to wire transfer it to local credit union and their solution of running up my credit card debt due to their incompetence is absurd to the point I have filed a complaint with the credit union regulators. if you are banking on excuses and apologizes this is the place for you. If you need access to your cash try elsewhere.

Terrible Service, long lines, they close a minute early. Teller at window is rude. Payment was due that day and received a late payment on my account. Don’t bank her they cost you nothing but time and money. The only cool person there is the security guard. He gets 5 stars and the only good thing about the damn place.

I hardly ever write a review but I was so disappointed the first time I entered LBS I had to write something. I am a new customer to this bank and my experience inside the bank was not very pleasant. I agree with a previous review that the employees have an «I don’t care attitude.» The lady in the front desk was not pleasant, I wish I would have gotten her name. The lady that did help me complete my transaction acted as if she was too good to even help me.
I will never step into this financial business again. I will drive out of my way or just complete anything I can over the phone or online.

Ok, this is not my credit union. My credit union’s only location is on 2^nd St, and you can imagine my excitement to go through that hell to access an ATM.
The issues with this bank:
First, it caters to a very large population and almost always has lines (meaning, it’s not staffed well).
Second, the employees, particularly the ones that serve at the window outside, are insanely slow. I don’t know if they put the newest, least experienced people out there or what, but when you’re standing in cold or rain for something simple like quarters, it’s a nightmare.
It’s really disappointing; they could be an excellent bank, but the quality and time taken during service makes each visit hell. It may be that 2^nd Street will be easier to deal with than the backup of people constantly waiting for assistance.
