I needed a new key for my ’91 truck. I went in there knowing that the teeth on the key were already worn down and told them that. They made the key anyways and told me that if it didn’t work to just come back and they would give me a refund. Well it didn’t work and they did give me my full refund.

I needed to change a lock. Simple enough. I had a locksmith promptly come out, but he was unable to fix the problem. He charged me for the call, which is understandable but did not do any work claiming that it was ruined and I needed a new piece. He said the a new piece could cost up to $ 1000!!! And he’d charge me $ 150 for installation.
After waiting 2 weeks (no contact was made about the status of my part) I was frustrated and called someone else for a second opinion.
I had a guy come out and fix the lock in 30 minutes for $ 75.

Several months ago I had a key that had broken off inside an old lock in my security screen, so I decided to try Lakewood Lock & Key. The business shares a suite with a mailbox store, which confused me to no end since the locksmith wasn’t there; suitemate said he probably would be back soon. So I left my old lock with my name, and a little while later I received a call that he would work on my lock and it would be ready later that day. So later on I picked up my lock and paid for it, I guess it was reasonable, I don’t remember the price being too high. Lock was fixed, had a new key, and I was happy… Except the lock never seemed to work quite right after I got it back. Fast forward a few months later to last night and the lock has completely failed. Thinking I could tinker it back to working order I took the back plate off and there are screws just floating around inside, one of the pins has broken in half and was floating around… basically the whole thing is now busted. So either the workmanship damaged my lock, or it was purposely damaged to bring me back. I’m leaning towards shoddy workmanship and not enough care was taken with my old lock because it never worked right after I got it back. I’m glad other people have had positive experiences with this company, but I won’t be back.

I got my Toyata Rav4 a new key remote today at Lakewood Lock and Key! The guys were so nice and eager to help me! I would defnitely recommend this shop to anyone looking for a custom key or a replacement. I don’t plan on losing my keys for the fourth time (LOL), but in case I do I know just where to go! The store is located right on the corner of Del Amo and Bellflower Blvd. They also have P.O. boxes so don’t forget to pick up your mail! Thanks so much :)

The first thing I did when I closed on my house was to find a locksmith to change all the locks. I contacted a few but ended up feeling most comfortable with this one. The owners wife made it a point to be the contact person and it was so nice to talk to a female during the process. They came out to my house changed all the locks to what was requested. He was professional, detailed and thorough. He even helped me install the new door knobs for the garage. Great job and done at a very reasonable cost. I even came back to the store to make a few copies of the key he rekeyed my locks for. They made three copies for me for free. Next time I need a locksmith, these guys are my first call.

I totally locked myself out of my house on a Monday morning! What a way to start the week! I didn’t know what to do so I googled locksmiths near me and Lakewood Lock came up right away. I then turned to help and the great reviews. No brainer to call them. 30 second phone call later I was relieved that help was on the way. I was given 30 minute eta but they showed up closer to 15 minutes! Scott showed up, handled business and was out. 10 minutes at the most. $ 85 well spent.

Needed a new key FOB for our Nissan that I lost. These guys know their stuff. Went there and it was taken care of and replaced in a quick and professional manor. The FOB and the cut key worked perfectly! They are really knowledgeable in their trade! To top it off, it was a fantastic deal compared to other places I checked!

We had a bit of trouble at work, as one of our keys got stuck in a lobby door. The good news was that we were still able to secure the door, but the bad news was that the key was stuck in the lock, so my other guard had to check a key from a manager. Asked if I could just get a key cut and they said that’d be fine.
Well, since my key had «Do Not Duplicate» on it, these guys will not cut you a new one unless you have written authorization on company letterhead. I know they were just limiting their liablity, but I ended up having to inform management that I couldn’t get a key made and they had to call their contacted locksmith.
These guys are located in the strip mall between the Rockview milk store and a bar whose name escapes me.
