The food is fresh and fried very nicely. I once owned a fish market like this one and it’s good. Minus one star since the owner or man behind the counter doesn’t seem too friendly and the batter could use more seasoning. Overall very nice.

Run Run! Last night I went into this establishment around 8:15 p.m. and I ordered prawns. When they weighed them they were frozen solid. I said how are you going to thaw these out prior to frying them. HE said don’t worry… When I got home I seen that they did a bate and switch and battered 2 jumbo shrimp together to try to pass them off as the prawns I bought at $ 23.99 per lb. The item even had 2 tails a prawn has one tail. I called back to ask them to do right by me and to make my order right she said I should have traveled back from Anaheim to North Long Beach last night. I’m going to report this fraud to the better business bureau, I hope the fish you’re eating is what is labeled! Buyer beware!

Came to this location after years of being in Tucson Az for school and it was good 5 – 8 years ago and still really good today, went around 1−2pm 06-03-2015 after the lunch rush but before the school rush and the food was fried to perfection. 3 Piece catfish and 10 jumbo shrimp. The shrimp was tempura style and was actual shrimp. Not pre-batter flattened imitation shrimp. Got a big hearty portion with fries and hush puppies for about $ 12, kinda expensive for a 1 person big appetite plate but it was fresh and really delicious. I recommend anyone with a Friday night fried fish hankering to try this place out

Very rarely do I brave the downtown area for food. Usually it’s upon the request of a friend or colleague. When we arrived, the restaurant was pretty busy. Fortunately there were only two of us and we were given a table right away. Generally-speaking I order fish and chips at places like this, but am a bit leery that it’ll be too oily or it’ll be more breading than fish. Our waiter Bryan, knowing my apprehension, described the fish and chips aptly and convinced me that it was the right choice. It was. Loved the fish and chips. I’m also a crazy water drinker. Most servers hate me. Bryan was on top of refills before I had to ask– my glass was always full! Overall, it was a great experience. While I’m unlikely to visit downtown often, this may be a place I come back to in the future.

Every once in a while I have a craving for fried fish and this is where I come. Great red snapper and shrimp! I’ve been coming here for years no matter how far I’ve moved.

Man I’ve lived her for a long Time and just now tried this place. I wish I would have stopped by sooner. It’s so good. There are plenty of fish markets around here. And I USED to go to one down the block until today. They are not stingy with there portions on what I had. I bought a fish dinner with fries and Mac and Cheese, and fish/shrimp combo with fries and rice/beans. Rice/beam cup was a bit small but it made up for it in taste. Man I’ve had some rice and beans from many places. But this place actually seasons them! I didn’t even have to ask for tarter sauce or hot sauce. He had my bag packed with everything including extra napkins and utensils. I’m definitely coming back to try some gumbo.

Kings fish has pretty good food. Their shrimp dinners are their best sellers. The shrimp dinners are pretty fulfilling, you can either order a twelve piece or twenty which includes one side and a dinner roll, drinks aren’t included which isn’t uncommon in today’s establishments trying to squeeze out an extra buck or two. Their fish on the other hand isn’t so welcoming. Small pieces of a lower end cut which means they won’t hold a consistent moist texture when being fried. For a little extra you could get a premium cut piece that does have more body and texture. Heck for a little more everything can taste better in this fish joint. One plus is they sell can sodas for fifty cents that you can include with your dinner. The owner or manager to my knowledge is extremely cheap when it comes to dishing out the condiments. For a twenty piece fish dinner he feels two small shrimp sauce cups and a couple ketchup packets is adequate enough to eat with your meal which is quite silly! So you are forced to remind him that you spent a substantial amount of money and deserve better condiments. He may throw a fee out at you but simply just ask for more or calmly ask for a refund if they want to be so cheap and he will happily give you more. This is the breaking points of most businesses today, which is acting cheap towards customers. So if you’d like a pretty good fulfilling shrimp dinner I say give them a chance. I must warn you it’s located in a not so savory part of Long Beach known to some as the ghetto! So if you can’t tolerate loud speaking individual that resemble gang members I wouldn’t recommend this place to you.

mann, these people need to go to hell! i used to buy their hot food all the time along with a side of macaroni and cheese and a can soda. i was going there faithfully, and everything was all good! but one day, the owner guy must have lost his mind or something but, when they gave me my fried chicken wings and i bit into one of them only to notice that the chicken was not cooked fully. i quickly took my food back to the counter explaining to the owner guy that the chicken was very under cooked, and if he could cook the chicken all the way next time. he replied«ok» and took my chicken wings to the back, and i watched him just to see what he was going to do with them. and what do you know, i watch this owner dude, take the chicken i just ate off and throw it back into the grease! i was furious! and once again grossed the hell out at this point! then he had the nerve to bring me back them same wings like nothing was wrong! i examined the the partially eaten chicken that was now double fried! i told the man that what he had done was some bull shit, and that someone could really get sick! he didn’t even care! i guess he figured that the word would not get out! *** eat at your own risk***** ps, they don’t even deserve the damn 1 star, but Unilocal makes you!

Food: Yum. Crispy, fresh, seasoned to perfection. Fish=delish. Shrimp=they don’t skimp. Service: Ok. Don’t take the impatient workers too seriously. Location: A little scary. Don’t go after sunset. Travel in pairs. *Added bonus: Try Hawaiian Juice two stores down from King Fish. Get the smoothies… made with real fruit! =)

Tried it yesterday. You get to pick from a selection of fishes for them to fried. Comes with fried shrimp that is fried yummy for my tummy. I would come back here again. The french fries are the skinny ones that could use some help. Comes with a roll to compliment your meal. The only thing missing is the cocktail sauce, but I don’t mind. The food was tasty even without it. The neighborhood is what it is. This is North Long Beach. Across from a park that I would not considered safe at night. Jordan High is nearby. So you get the idea.
