I am writing this review as half my face is still numb from my deep cleaning…
Our entire family has been coming here for over 20 years and we cannot imagine going to another dentist! It is a small family practice. Their staff is friendly and they do an excellent job. The office itself is older and they don’t have fancy equipment, but it doesn’t matter because they do quality work. They’re no nonsense; no bells and whistles, just great honest work.
When I first started seeing Dr. Kam, my teeth had a lot of issues. My last two dentists did such a horrible job, that just about everything had to be replaced. Every filing and crown was replaced over a period of 2 – 3 years. I was a fixture in that office, making a visit just about every two or three weeks (no kidding!). With the help and hard work of his staff, I’m only having to visit about two or three times a year for regular cleanings. Every referral has always been to other awesome dental specialists. They really know their stuff!
The drive to Long Beach from South Orange County is about 33 miles and takes about an hour (if we’re lucky as traffic is always HORRIBLE!!), but for us, it’s totally worth the trek because we know that whatever they do, they will do it right. In fact, the majority of the folks in my office go to the same dentist that’s located just around the corner. We have considered switching to that dentist or possibly someone closer, but we probably won’t do it. After all, why would anyone want give up a good thing?

Great dentist — wonderful office staff

I have been going to this dentist for about 10-​years now. Time sure has flown by. It does seem like time has stopped for everyone in that office, though. Everyone doesn’t seem to be aging in there.
I’ve had many many procedures, and my wife is a regular now, which says alot because she hates dentists. All of the work we’ve had has been of great quality. I’ve been to dentists where fillings fall out of my head after a year. Not here … everything’s been stuck in my head for some time now.
I read one other comment on this dentist complaining about not giving prices over the phone … that’s a lame review … prices are pretty standard across the board. You get what you pay for, and if you’re looking for a cheap deal, you’re not going to get the same quality of service you can here, at Dr. Kam’s.
One example of how their service goes above and beyond; had a dental emergency this weekend with my wife. Dr. Sheryl responded to a message I left on their emergency line, kept calling back until she got ahold of me, and was very responsive on a Sunday trying to get proper pain meds subscribed. She even offered to come in the office and give a shot to my wife. The cool part about all of this is that Dr. Sheryl isn’t our regular Dr. Dr. Curtis is!
If you want a dentist you can trust, and have quality work done for the next 10-​years, or so, try them out. They also give excellent referrals. You can bet when they refer someone that you can also trust the specialists they send you to.
I could write about 20 more paragraphs on how great they are, but most people will have stopped reading already. Just trust me, they’re awesome!

If you are looking for an affordable, honest and friendly dentist, go to Dr. Kam (Curtis, Sheryl is the sister, whom I’ve never had work from). I’m pretty sure he accepts most basic dental plans, and does very good work. I’m going next week for my 6mos teeth cleaning, and his dental hygienist is super friendly, and does an excellent job as well. The office may not be «state of the art», but at least you know your money isn’t going to a 50″ plasma TV in the waiting room that has subscriptions to every trendy magazine known to man, like some of these other crooks that call themselves dentist. No frills, just solid dentistry. Go see him already!

Would not give out any pricing over the phone. That sucks!
