J & G Markets

it’s a hot night and my boyfriend and i are ready for a beer. we grab some loose change to buy our tall cans. we make our way to the liquor. once there, we grab our separate tall cans and head to the register. when the young cashier rings us up, i set down my change and start counting. the cashier let’s out an audible sigh. halfway during counting the cashier angrily starts sweeping the coins and tells me «next time go to food 4 less or something».
umm… what? that was completely rude and unnecessary. if it was a busy night or something i’d get it. but there was no one behind us. i guess i was just keeping him from his phone or something. and if he was annoyed by my change, money is money. for the most part i know liquors like getting change to have in their registers.
haven’t been back since.

Best liquor store around. They have almost anything you need and then some. They have All types of drinks and snacks. The customer service is really good too and they quickly get to know you after a few visits.

They saved me today. Its Christmas day, my plan is to make pozole and my chile california’s (dried chillis) are no good. So my option is to run across the street and see if they have a dried chilli or condiment section and they sure do. I was so happy and relieved. Thank u j & g!!!
Now lets make pozole! !!

.75 cents of the good stuff.

I’ve loved this market since my dad would take me when I was in kindergarten! Of course buying me a Flintstones push pop was a cover up for his Budweiser but that’s another story. The owners now aren’t the original but are still very nice and friendly. They try to get to know you which is comforting and comes in handy so you don’t have to be carded each visit. I like to believe this spot is lucky. My dad won $ 500 on a scratcher so this place is alright in my book. I say stop by for a cold brew, snack, or for a quick gamble fix.
