Inretrospect

This is a wonderful vintage/​MCM upscale shop on 4^th Street/​Retro row. I love the way the store is merchandised, total eye candy & the flow is great-​from one display to the next. Art, furniture, vintage kitchen/​dining & much more. While I consider it on the pricey side, some things are worth the price :) Its my favorite store on 4^th Street & the owners are great.

They definitely have unique, one of kind items here, and it’s an absolute BLAST just walking around.
They have a coffee table shaped like a face, a suitcase shaped like hotdogs, etc. Pretty cool. They also have standard thrift shop stuff: glassware, art, big vinyl record selection, old VHS tapes, etc.
My only con is that it’s relatively pricey. Considering it’s a trendy thrift store in a hip/​artsy neighborhood that’s not very surprising. But there were a LOT of things I had my eye on that I would have gladly purchased had they been cheaper (like a cat made out of rope). If I go back I will likely only buy 1 item, maybe 2, unlike some of the cheaper shops around LB (Grandma Darlings, Assistance League Thrift).

Loved this shop! Anazing section of near perfect condition vintage goods. They also sell authorized prints of Weidman art, was able to pick up a sale priced print at a really affordable price. Would definitely visit this shop again if I was in the area.

LOTS of great stuff. Vintage clothing, furniture, knick knacks, dishes, cookware, hats, purses, jewelry, books, cassette tapes, records, trading cards, and more! Mid century and up. Way too expensive for what it is though. Too bad :/

The items they had were AWESOME. Lots of trunks, film cameras, old Disney collectibles, and other treasures that you rarely see otherwise. However, it was expensive (at least for me, a broke college student), but I will be back when I have a cash flow!

Exquisite antiques and excellent buys! I wish I could buy everything in the store! Clothes — typewriters — shoes — furniture — jewelry — yay!

Whenever we’re hanging out on Fourth Street this is one o our favorite places to just come a poke around. They’ve got it all, furniture, knick knacks, clothes, and vinyl! You can easily lose yourself here and the staff is very friendly.

Large, spacious, and full of vintage goodies, Inretrospect has a lot to offer, and nearly all of it true vintage! There is furniture, LOTS of records, clothing and a array of housewares! And all of it is very good condition.
The place is fairly well lit, and the gal at the front counter was nice.
Some of the prices are a little up there, hence the four star review. But I found a few treasures, and came out very happy, and look forward to return visits.

Love the store! I have brought several vintage furnitures, artworks, and accessories here. Every once in a while, you will see some true gems popping out here and there. You do, however, need to make sure that you researched well about that piece of furniture you want. Make sure that you know the pricing. I found that inretrospect have great deals on certain items and not so on others. So, if you come unprepared, you might ended up passing on a great deal or buying an item too expensive for its worth.
I was eyeing on certain items on the store and tried my best to find better deal elsewhere through extensive research. Only to conclude that inretrospect has the best deal.
The staffs are nice and does not really bother you while you are browsing. I found that i keep coming back to see what they have in store. People who did a consignment there often brought new things in store and make it always an interesting place to shop.

We stopped in on the way to the car from having lunch at The Social List on 4^th Street. We took a look at their merchandise and man, these items brought me back into time. This place is definitely a throwback and it’s so organized, clean and each «department» flowed really well in this space. I found a pair of sunnies that were too good to resist so I had to purchase them. The owner was very gracious and friendly, he offered us a slice of cake on our way out but we were too full from lunch.
You can find everything here and the prices aren’t bad. We were going through their vinyl on sale and saw a couple of things that reminded of my childhood. I would come back here again if I’m in the area.

Although this store is WAY too spendy for me, in fairness I must give it four stars, for these four reasons:
1. It’s immaculate
2. It’s got GREAT stuff (mostly mid-​century into the 70s, from what I saw)
3. You can’t even tell there are multiple vendors because the sections flow so well into one another
4. It’s a really nice and appealing space
I found a Raffiaware Thermo-​Temp bowl (like this one but yellow
) I really wanted and even though it was extremely overpriced at $ 28 with no lid, I still bought it. My fault, not theirs!
I’d return if I were already on vintage row, but it’s too expensive for me for a special trip. Still, kudos for a nice store.

Inretrospect is the best of the best on Retro Road in Long Beach, California. In a large open warehouse type setting Inretrospect provides spaces for rent to seasoned sellers like «Scout» from Los Angeles to private collectors who feel they are ready to sell some or all of their collection. What’s especially nice about Inretrospect is that the inventory is constantly changing. Established dealers are constantly bringing in new items from their most recent estate sale trips and the smaller private collections come and go every couple of months. So there’s always something new to see. I love that the staff basically mind their own business unless you call on them. Consequently you can browse and shop at your leisure without someone breathing down your neck doing everything within their power to separate you from your money like I’ve experienced so many times at some of the more well known swap meets. The only drawback is the lack of parking.

I went into almost 10 vintage clothes stores on Retro Row in Long Beach, looking for a vintage men’s coat jacket. Inretrospect had to be my favorite store among all of them. the store is spacious and clean. The items are super unique and fun. You can get Depression-​era glassware, men’s cufflinks, womens jewelry, vintage pins, ties, scarves, and just about anything found in the 1940’s — 1980’s era.
I was looking for a very flashy vinatage mens coat and i found a LOT of very un and unique items instead. Most notable was the men’s Paddington coat. I just saw the movie Paddington Bear and the coat that I found was just like the one that the bear uses in the movie. There were tons of mens sports coats and items!
One thing that I found a bit confiusing and frustrating in the store, was that there was no method to organizing the clothes. They had about 5 secions of clothes, where each sesion had sub-​sections of each category (men’s coats, women’s dresses, western attire, etc). So I was looking for men’s sports coats and had to look in five different sections of the store. Bad because it was confusing. Good because I was able to see all the other goodis that they had to offer.

This is a fun little vintage shop on Retro Row that has a variety of house stuff, furniture, décor, clothing and more.
Like most antique shops, there are a variety of dealers that contribute their stuff to the space. What I really like is that all of the merchandise is super clean and in good condition. The prices are a little higher than normal, but you’re not buying junk, all of the items seem like they’ve been cared for and you don’t have to do too much to get them into decent shape.
If you’re into vinyl, they not only sell turntables, but have a good selection of records from rock and pop stars of the past. This seems to be a popular space to check out the music as there were quite a few people flipping through the covers on a Sunday afternoon. Things seem decently marked compared to other record shops I’ve seen selling the same Beatles, Rolling Stones or Elvis albums. You can even pick up a retro band shirt to sport around town. They’re more pricey than a Hot Topic and slightly used… but where else are you going to find an original Depeche Mode shirt from the 80’s?
They have a lot of vintage housewares if you’re looking for something kitschy for your kitchen. Not sure if you’d have any practical use out of it other than décor, but I’m sure there are collectors out there that insist on making mashed potatoes with an electric blender from the 60’s.
The store also has a clothing section with all kinds of styles. It’s geared more towards women, but they do have some stuff for men as well. You can even accessorize your new fashion forward piece with some of the jewelry that’s on display… and there’s some interesting things in those cases. If you’re looking for a cool gift for that special someone, I’d definitely check here first to see what kind of fun you can find.
On a recent visit, Jaime spotted a vintage cash register that weighed a ton. Like a moth to a flame, he was attracted to it and he had to have it. He made an offer to the man working at the front who then put in a call to the dealer to see if they’d accept. He did, and within a few minutes, three grown men were trying to haul this SOB into the back of my car. Seriously — it weighed a ton, but he was grinning from ear to ear. It was a great find and we haven’t seen anything like this… plus he got a decent price, so it made it even better!
I recommend checking this spot out if you’re in the area. You never know what you might find or end up walking out with! The staff is really cool and are really there to help you.

This review is only for the vinyl section of this store. The most expensive vinyl selection ive ever seen! The prices on the vinyl is out of control expensive. And its not like they have rare records. Nobody is going to pay 5 dollars for any Andy Williams record… not even in the 50s when it released. It looks like this might have been someones personal collection and pricing them on emotion. That could be the only explanation for these INSANE prices.
Again this review is only for the vinyl section. Get rid of it… its bringing your store down.

As much as I enjoy going to this shop, I just can’t force myself to come back.
Whoever grades and prices the vinyl needs to be slapped. Hands down highest prices for albums in long beach.
On top of the high prices, make sure to listen to and inspect the records before buying.
Sounds like common sense until you find an album you’ve been searching for and it has a lovely little handwritten tag saying EXCELLENT CONDITION. I listened to one album that I was considering buying for $ 29 bucks for about 15 seconds before I realized it had so many scratches that it was unlistenable

Love this store. I have never left this store without finding something special. Nice collection of albums too!

Of all the vintage shops on 4^th street this has to be my favorite. It doesn’t necessarily have to do with great service or cleanliness, although those are fine, but I like it for the wide variety of vintage items that can be purchased. Old books, records, collectibles, etc. These are all okay in my book.

They always have those items from your childhood that you wish you had saved.
Great place to shop, for all you hipsters that like sterile modern looking stuff. Also some cool 70’s and 80’s stuff, such as the hanging plant crochet thingies and wall owls.
The clothing looks like far too much work to go through, or I might take a gander. They have records in the back and furniture up front.
If you’re in Retro Row, it’s definitely worth a peek.

This place is great!!! Love it!!! Every vendor that is in this antique mall has well curated things and I wanted to get it all!
The people who work here were really friendly too and didn’t get upset when I accidentally broke a pair of vintage glass sunglasses… no worries, I came back the next day and bought a crap load of stuff! I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in LB.
