I recently had Wes and his team do an «Energy Upgrade» project for me. The process of going about understanding how the rebate program works and what amounts are available is extremely convoluted. Wes was fantastic in spelling out all of the variables and giving a conservative estimate that left a lot of upside. He handles all of the paperwork and submission as well. Throughout the process he was not only extremely knowledgeable but very consultative in helping me understand exactly what work needed to be done in order to achieve the desired outcome, and believe me, I had a lot of questions for which he had answers. Once he started the project, his crew was extremely timely, orderly in their work, and professional. The work was completed on time — as promised — and surpassed all of the metrics needed to receive the maximum rebates. I would highly recommend Wes and his team for any Energy Upgrade program project and really any type of construction upgrade for that matter.

We hired Wes Harding and his team for a kitchen remodel in our Naples home. He won our bid because his pricing was logical and he answered our questions and explained solutions for items of concern. Throughout the project his team arrived on time, left the site broom swept at the end of each day, and were equally personable and willing to explain our options when situations arose on site that were unique. We are detailed-​oriented clients and I appreciated the team’s patience with our critical eye. We are using our new kitchen and are very happy with the aesthetics, functionality, and quality of work. Wes renovated our guest bathroom and I am very glad we chose him as our contractor. He understood our needs, wasn’t pushy to get the job, and provided a thoroughly detailed written estimate — things that not all the contractors I talked to were able or willing to do. Wes, Jeff and Ricardo understood our vision and even worked with us to install a copper penny floor, which was the first time for all of us, and became the focal point of the bathroom! I wanted to find a contractor that also lives in Long Beach, to keep the money flow local, and I like his «green» sense of doing business. When you can come through a job like that and immediately think of what other projects a contractor can do around your house — you’ve found a good company. We made the right choice to work with Wes and I will vouch for him anytime.

We recently purchased a 1936 Belmont Heights home and was not happy with the
existing kitchen. There were old dirty cabinets that were not installed
level, cheap hardware, and above all, the kitchen was not functional for our
needs. We needed a contractor we could count on to do the job right. Our
real estate agent suggested we contact Wes with Harding Construction &
Sustainable Solutions for our kitchen remodel.
When we meet with Wes he listened to our needs/​wants and he moved
quickly to move our project forward. Within days of first meeting with him we
were working with a type written estimate and his subcontractors.
Wes and his associates were very organized and clean during my kitchen
remodel. We really appreciate that Wes was very patient, helpful, and
understanding during a stressful remodel and move into our new home. We am very
happy with my new kitchen, it’s exactly what we wanted!

Wes Harding is more knowledgeable in his field than most of the people I’ve run across. I am very energy conscious and wanted to get the most results in home comfort for the least expenditure of energy. I wanted a whole house fan, and he also suggested tripling our attic insulation along with that. I cannot believe the difference this has made in our lives! What used to be a heat magnet in warm weather, now feels cooler than the outside when I walk in the door, and after running the fan for a little while I don’t think about the heat anymore. It’s a very natural way to cool down and use very little energy, while doing it.
Wes makes sure that the work is done correctly. The people he hired, who did the bulk of the work in our home, were people I felt very comfortable having in my house. They understood exactly what was needed and endeared my trust early on. They also did everything they could to keep things clean.
We owe Wes and his gang, a big thank you.

We hired Harding Construction & Sustainable Solutions to do an energy audit
and upgrade our 100– year old historic, but non-​insulated home. Although we love our home, it was too cold in the winter and too warm in the summer, and our utility bills were high.
They upgraded our attic insulation, air sealed our attic, installed wall insulation, sealed our existing duct work, installed LowE insulation in our crawlspace, air sealed the old craftsman wood windows, and installed a high efficiency tankless water heater. They did a highly professional job. All the Harding Construction workers were very knowledgeable about everything related to energy efficiency and always courteous, prompt, and hardworking. Their work resulted in a much more comfortable home, with lower energy bills.
Wes worked very hard to ensure that we met all the city historical requirements and were eligible for all of available rebates. Because of their thoroughness, our home was more energy efficient and we received the maximum rebates from all participating agencies. We even were able to obtain a Green Point certificate from Build It Green for our newly renovated green home.

I’ve hired Harding Construction on two separate occasions. One for installation of french doors and another for a list of misc. projects including rebuilding a porch overhang. Both projects came out great and price seemed good compared to other quotes. Good effort to keep things clean and I liked the options they presented me during the project. Only gripe is workers didn’t always show up on time.

Having just bought a condo in Long Beach back in December 2011, I decided to do some remodeling. I came across Wes at Harding Construction & Sustainable Solutions when I noticed his ad in the local Long Beach newspaper (Grunion Gazette) for energy efficient upgrades. Wes responded to my email with a phone call which I thought was a nice touch. After chatting for a bit, we setup a time to meet. Even though I have a small condo, it was really cool that Wes invested the time to walk me through some basic things I could do to help maximize my energy consumption. The end result of this first meeting didn’t really translate to any major business for Wes; however, a few months later, I remembered him when I needed someone to help finish my back-​splash. He quoted me a very fair price and one of his employee’s, Jeff, was able to complete my back-​splash in one day. Wes took the time to come over after the work was completed and made sure I was completely satisfied. I told him I already referred him to a few other people in my building that were looking to have work done. In this current economy, contractors are a dime a dozen. However, customer service and quality of work is not always easy to find.

Harding Construction performed a complete kitchen remodel in my home in 2011. His crews always showed up for work when expected and were both curtious (to me and my neighbors) and worked clean. This was a major project involving taking the kitchen back to studs and moving several of the components to new locations within the kitchen (my decision). I appreciated Wes’ approach of bringing in a designer and cabinet guy from the beginning which led to brain storming potential problems and making sound decisions before the work was begun. The project is beautiful and came in on time and on budget.
I would highly recommend Harding Constructioon if quality, honesty and timeliness are a priority.

They show up on time and clean up when they leave. On the rare occasion that I need something adjusted or touched up, it is done in a timely and courteous manner. Wes is honest and conscientious… rare attributes these days. And, my dog loves him and his crew :-)
