H&R Block

I got a nice letter from the IRS saying I needed to submit a 8923 since I claimed the premium tax credit (making my Affordable Healthcare Act plan somewhat affordable). Evidently the agent from their office off of Paramount and Del Amo filled out the info (after my second visit when I had to file an amended return) but it wasn’t submitted. Since H&R Block had all my information on file and I didn’t want to fill out the form by hand (besides, they can machine generate it and make it look all spiffy) I came back for a third time.
Well, third time’s a charm. I got a class later in the day after I made my appointment; they had to change the location since their Paramount/​Del Amo office is only open during «peak season». At least they were nice enough to schedule me for 6:30pm (I can’t miss work because my security company has a hard time finding someone to cover your shift). me with Debroah Rodes, who dutifully pulled my file, had a 8-​minute conversion while she worked on my file and discovered that the other agent did in fact complete the form, but simply didn’t submit it.
In all my 30+years of filing Federal and State taxes, I’ve NEVER had an audit or receive any notice from the IRS… I guess we can thank a somewhat inept (or new) agent and the logicistal nightmare that is Obamacare.
Debroah printed out my form and I was out in about 10 minutes. Went a couple doors down to the UPS Store and mailed my info via certified mail.

I made an appointment to see someone about my tax return. When I walked in, very loudly I might add, no one was there to greet me. Instead I had to sit and wait for 15 minutes for someone to notice. And the people noticed only because they walked into their job late with no intention of hurrying up for me. When I finally grabbed someone’s attention they were able to sign me in and the guy I was assigned to, William Legg, was also late. When I finally sat down with him, he asked what school I graduated from. When I told him he scoffed and said how ugly my school was and how dirty the area was. It was completely insulting and he had no right. Doesn’t he understand tact?
So why 2 stars? I will not give more because the only thing I enjoyed was that the guy did his job in the end. Why should I give 3 or 4 stars when all he did was what he is paid for. I give stars based on my experience. And this experience was horrendous.
I will never go there again.

Usually I cut the tax man out of the picture and do my own taxes online using hr block website.
Usually I pay a fee ranging from $ 40 – 60
Usually I get back lots of $$$$ for myself
Not this time… this time I owed big time… so I figured the tax man can fix it… back in the middle went the tax man.
All in All I like the service, the facility, the attention that I got from hr block. As a business I think this place did a good job and they did help me go from oweing big money to getting back a little something something. Only problem is they charged me big $$$$ in fees to file and im not talking the $ 40 – 60 I norrmally pay the online program. Because of this I have to rip 1 star away. They shoulf have told me they can help me if I gave up much of what they help me get.
Grrrrrrrr…I hate tax… and fees.
