Go Dogs Go

Absolutely LOVE taking my little monster here for his spa day. Debbie is amazing and when I leave him to get groomed, I am 100% comfortable knowing he is being well taken care of, PLUS he gets additional walks which he loves! My little guy is very hyper and will be 3 in April, so he still has some puppy habits. Thank you Debbie for taking such good care of my little apple Jack!!!

We had a terrible experience with another groomer for my 15 year old cocker spaniel Brittany. She came out limping and when I asked about it they got defensive and brushed me off. So I went to Go Dog Go on the advise of a friend. SOOO glad we did! They took care of my baby up until she turned 16 and 11 months old! Now we bring our new dogs in and they are so kind. If they have a skin issue they tell us about it and make suggestions. They know how to handle our little terrier Trudie’s wild thick hair. Our new little puppy Minka had a «puppy manners» class where they get them used to the touching and being on the table. Debra was so gentle with her. I have no doubt they are in good hands. They are our go to groomers forever!

We started taking one of our dogs here for grooming and while they do a good job, which we don’t mind paying for (about $ 50 once all is said and done) — the last time we picked up our dog one of the staff members said, «You know, there is a line on there for a tip»!!! (referring to the credit card slip) um, excuse me? First of all, because we used to work for tips, we tip IN CASH (for many reasons — most of which benefit the recipient!) Second of all, it seems that they must be paying awfully close attention to who tips what to make such an unprofessional statement (but probably should pay a little closer attention since we DO TIP) third, I worked for tips when I was getting paid less than minimum wage — which I’m pretty sure these groomers are not. (If they are, that’s a whole other issue) Fourth, when I worked for tips, we were NEVER permitted to make such unprofessional remarks — we’d get fired for that. Very disappointing and ruined the experience.

Very unprofessional.
1) It is difficult to make an appointment. Sometimes no one answers; other times, the person who answers seems to not have authority to schedule appointments. It’s always, «I’ll call you back in a few minutes,» but they call back the next day. Then when you tell them the day and time you want the appointment, they have to call you back again!
2) The first time husband dropped off the dogs there, he said that the place was so packed with dogs, he hesitated leaving our dogs there.
3) They cancelled our appointment at the last minute, because they wanted to close the shop early on Saturday. Literally, when we were getting the dogs ready to get in the car to go, we got the call to cancel.
THE LONGER VERSION: We had scheduled the appointment three weeks in advance because it was the only day/​time that would work for us. We were having a party at our house that day, and we planned to drop the dogs off before the party and pick them up afterwards. Our appointment was for a Saturday at 1:30 p.m. On the Friday before the appointment, they called and asked if we could bring our dogs in earlier in the morning instead of at our appointment time in the afternoon. They said that they did not have a lot of dogs scheduled and they wanted to close the shop early.
We explained that we had scheduled it on that day and at that time three weeks in advance, because it was the only time that would work for us, and no we would not be able to drop them off earlier that day, because we were setting up for a party.
They very reluctantly said, «Ok, we’ll let the appointment stand then.» As if THEY were doing US a huge favor to honor the appointment they made three weeks ago!
We were like, «Do they want our business or not?» I guess the answer was «not.» About 20 minutes before our appointment, they called to cancel. They made up some lousy story about one of the groomers calling in sick, so they were short handed. We knew it was a lie, because they had called the day before and said they wanted to close early.
So, we had smelly, dirty dogs at our house during the party. Thanks a lot Go Dogs Go. You go ahead and keep closing early on Saturdays. (I’m sure that works really well for a small business.) We’ll take our dogs to someone who wants them and where our business will be appreciated.

I have been taking my dogs to Go dogs go for many years. Everyone is very nice there. My dogs love to go there, they never shown any signs of fear when I take them back. That means a lot to me and also means that they are treating my dogs right.
One of my dogs has oily coat, instead of telling me that is the problem, Debra also was trying to see how she can treat it.

They offer natural teeth cleanings the first Saturday of every month and it’s great! I took my dog the first time this past weekend and I spent much less for beautiful results. The man who worked on my dog greeted me when I went to pick him up and explained everything to me. Very friendly place but also very busy! I will definitely take my dog again to get his teeth cleaned. Great alternative to taking your pup to a vet and paying hundreds of dollars to have your pup go under to get it’s teeth cleaned.

I’m going to be upfront and make it known that I have never taken any of my dogs to a groomer before. I have a French Bulldog and a Chihuahua and bathe them myself at home. My Chihuahua, however, needs her nails trimmed frequently and I thought it would be nice to find a place that was close that I could trust to trim her nails every couple of months. After reading a couple of good reviews and learning their walk-​in nail trim policy, I took my dog in a couple of Saturdays ago. The owner was extremely nice, but the woman she trusted Ava with cut three of her nails so short they bled. I was a little overwhelmed with the news, she was explaining how sorry she was as she handed Ava back to me, that I would be refunded and sent home with a powder to put on her nails if they started bleeding again. I just remember looking at my puppy and thinking I’m so sorry I put you in this situation. I don’t usually write «bad» reviews for places and much prefer to tout places I enjoy. I felt I had to put this in print as I just can’t in good faith bring Ava to this place again. They never even asked my name or information– I would have at least followed up and made sure the dog was okay.

Marley and I love this place. She comes home so silky soft and clean. She used to get dreads behind her ears but snce we’ve been taking her here she’s pretty much knarl free. We’ve tried other groomers but Go Dogs Go is the best!

I LOVE this place. After several attempts at taking my fluffy pupperoo to other groomers, I was distraught. They’d cut him super short and then leave his ears long so he looked like an old lady, or they’d just do a sloppy job over-​all. The last place I took him to before Go Dogs Go even told me I need to muzzle him because he’s a biter. That was a bit of a shock, but ok. I mean, I know he fusses if you go for his ears or face but a muzzle??? =(
So after several online searches I came across Go Dogs Go. I made the appointment and took in my little 20-​lb Bebop, muzzle and all. The first thing they said to me after checking us in was, «Why is he muzzled?» After explaining to them that the prior place recommended it and that I didn’t want him to inflict any bodily harm, they pooh-​poohed the idea and took off his muzzle. After that, they said to leave it to them.
Fast forward to a few hours later and there I am to pick him up. I happened to glance in the window and who do I see? That little fluff-​n-​stuff, sitting obediently on the groomer’s table letting her clip around his eyes. WHAT??? Occasionally, he’d make some movement but the lady whose spell he was under would just give him a little tap and tell him to «stop it,» and he’d calm right back down and let her continue. He doesn’t even let me clean the sleep out of his precious eyes, yet she could CUT his fluffy face? Wow, wow, wow.
After that, I was sold. Anyone who can touch around my puppy-​pups face without him throwing a fit is a fairy dogmother in my opinion! I don’t know if they gave him treats galore or what, but whatever they did, and continue to do, works. Not to mention, how cute that little fluff-​monster looked in the end. Wowsers!!! Heads a-​turnin’ up in here!!!
Now here we are almost a year later and I’m still in love… with him and his groomers. Throughout the time I’ve been taking him to Go Dogs Go, we’ve obviously developed a relationship (not so obviously, I guess, if you go elsewhere but here, yes). Now whenever I call to make an appointment, they know who I am and who Bebop is. They are sooooo flexible and accomodating too. Example: I’m recently engaged and on a venue-​hunt that is driving me crazy. I booked Bebop’s appointment last week and have since made several appointments for the same day to look at venues (shame on me, I know). I called to see if Go Dogs Go was available on Saturday instead, which sadly they weren’t. But they said they’d see if they can rearrange the schedule to fit him in on Saturday, and even offered to deliver him to my doorstep.
These people are so friendly, accomodating and flexible. And their grooming skills are excellent, in my opinion. They know the exact cut we like and if Ihave any request for changes, they note them on Bebop’s file card. And lastly, my fluff-​n-​stuff actually enjoys going there. Every time we arrive, his tail is wagging up a fury and he can’t wait to get out of the car and into the spa, as he and I like to call it. It’s almost sad that he doesn’t even look back like he did when we first started going there but at the same time I’m ok with that because I know he’s in great hands!
UPDATE: I just got a call back that they can squeeze me in on Saturday after all. 5 stars and 5 hearts!

I’ve been a semi-​regular (my neighbor takes his two dogs every other week) with my own two dogs — an occasional bath, and the annual Spring Sheering (for a Lhasa apso who turns Rastafarian over the colder winter months, and a shitzu who is nicknamed «Pig Pen» due to an inability to stay clean). As a rule, the place is in demand, so you need to make an appointment at least a few days in advance (and only the elite are accepted for grooming on Mondays). While slightly more expensive than some of the competition, the results are excellent: I have never picked up my dogs to find them sporting a «new wave» do or looking like another breed. In full disclosure, I have had one bad experience with one of the groomers (her attitude, not the results), but I don’t think she is still employed there. Lots and lots of return customers (including me).
