We specialize in high quality handmade rugs, traditional and contemporary designs as well as custom rugs. Our collection includes hand-​woven as well as hand-​knotted pieces in a range of colors, sizes, looks, and prices. We also carry vintage Turkish kilims, and kilim pillows.

Floorplan Rugs was founded to take our years of experience in importing and creating rugs and share that knowledge with lovers of hand-​crafted rugs and kilims. Our founders have been bringing the finest rugs to people the world over for over 30 years.

Meet the Business Owner

Mehmet B.

Business Owner

Like many first generation kids, Mehmet spent his childhood afternoons helping out with the family business: a rug store in the heart of Seattle’s Pioneer Square. Folding and showing handmade rugs to customers at a young age sparked his passion for craftsmanship, design and entrepreneurship. He later opened his own business specializing in fine handmade rugs from all of the world’s major weaving centers.

Trained as an architect he uses his extensive knowledge of both rugs and architecture to help people transform their spaces. Mehmet has had the occasion to travel all over the world: from the mountains of Peru to the streets of Delhi, he has immersed himself in the cultures and styles of all different kinds of people. It has made him an insatiably curious person and notorious for peaking behind curtains and opening doors marked Do Not Open. How does this help him as a carpet dealer?
