After years trouble with my upper teeth, apparent sinus pain until finally a dental emergency developed: due to his excellent, advanced xray equipment, he was able to identify 3 failed previous root canals that had been festering at a low level. Dr. Fan if very thorough and methodical, working in a first rate office and clinic setting. The front office handled by Tanza is cordial and thoughtful and well managed.
I told them when finishing my last visit that they make the root canal experience almost a pleasure. While some people may dread root canals, I associate Dr. Fan’s office with relief.

These Unilocalers failed to mention in their reviews the $ 176 consult fee. That’s a steep fee; what’s more it’s not applied towards your expense if you decide to use his service. Of course, they don’t take my insurance so I suggest you clear this up before moving forward. I found another endo with no consult fee and was glad to take my insurance.

Things in the upper back left hurt pretty bad sometimes. I knew something needed to be done eventually. Normal dentists didn’t have definite answers. I got some referrals to some endodontists. I went to one and I went to another. After neither could figure it out, each of the two endodontists separately suggested that I «…just pull it.» I refused. If they weren’t sure, then I wasn’t either. And I wasn’t going to give up a tooth just because they didn’t have a good answer.
For years, other dentists just scratched their heads. And I just pushed through the pain. I always asked about it at regular checkups but never got the answer that really fit my symptoms.
The discomfort wasn’t consistent. It didn’t always feel like the problem came from the same place. It was usually annoying. It hurt pretty bad sometimes. Even on my best days, things never really felt normal. But I kept looking for an answer that actually rang true. And I’m glad I did!
After a whole lot of searching, I was finally referred to Dr Fan. My current dentist told me that this was the guy who many pros sent troublesome cases to. Apparently Dr. Fan teaches a lot of seminars in addition to his normal practice.
After a very thorough exam, he finally figured it out and explained everything to me in terms that I could understand. It wasn’t all good news but things finally made perfect sense to me and, thankfully, there was hope. With no guarantees, he prescribed treatment on what he assured me was the problem tooth… not the one that the other two endodontists would have pulled! I agreed to what he recommended.
But it wasn’t easy. As it became clear that the treatment was more difficult than anticipated, Dr Fan redoubled his efforts and displayed wonderful patience and compassion during the eighty-​something years I spent in his chair that day. Longer story short, I kept my tooth… as well as the tooth the other endodontists would have mistakenly pulled… and now everything feels completely normal after many years of chronic discomfort.
I’m so very glad that I trusted Dr. Fan! I have complete and total confidence in him. And it all made even more sense when I spotted an advanced degree in philosophy on the wall, in addition to all of his other dental degrees. This man is a thinking-dentist’s endodontist.

Dr. Fan was really professional. He informed me of what was going on with my teeth, he let me know my options and explain to me the procedures every step of the way and I really appreciated that. He and his assistant Jessica made sure I was comfortable and didn’t feel any pain. I was really scared walking in for a root canal, but I came out pain free. He knows what he’s doing and doesn’t mind answering any questions.
