Specialties
We promise authentic, delicious German food, beer, and a good time for all. Come celebrate Oktoberfest all year round! Absolutely unique, we are a German Grill, a beer garden, and a spirited place to make friends. We have created a menu filled with family recipes and sausages. The beer is imported from Germany, the food is German-style comfort food, and the tables are Biergarten style, made of reclaimed wood. But the similarities with what most people think is a typical German restaurant end right there. Neither the restaurant nor Lothar fit any stereotypes: No jolly fellows swaying to folk music, no cuckoo clocks on the walls, no yodeling.
The Currywurst Company is commited to bringing you only the finest meats from local farms. Our high quality, organic products are free of growth hormones, antibiotics, medications or preservatives. If we wouldn’t eat it you won’t find it on our grill. All of our food is authentic, as close as possible to the original from Germany. Our sausages are low-fat and bursting with flavor. We offer a wide variety of sausages — from the regular veal sausage to the extravagant Kobe Beef sausage. You won’t find «watered down», americanized versions of German dishes at the Currywurst Company. Family recipes, handed down through generations found their way to the South Shore.
Come check out our Happy Hour! Mon-Thurs, 8:30pm to close, $ 3 Draft Beers and $ 2.50 pretzels! We can’t wait to welcome you into our family.
History
Established in 2013.
The Currywurst Company opened its door on July 18th 2013 on Park Ave in Long Beach, NY where I’ve been living for the past 12 years after moving to the US from Germany.
Born and raised in southern Germany, I took my cravings for authentic German food, beer, and culture as reason enough to dive into the restaurant business, of which I knew nothing other than being on the customer side of the bar!
I am proud to offer real German cuisine that is based on family recipes and is authentic and hearty, while at the same time being refined by the creativity in our kitchen. I’m even prouder of our selection of fantastic German beers. Well maintained lines and a steady flow ensure freshness which is just as much of a priority as serving each beer in the proper glass. We offer more than 20 German beers most of which are hard to find anywhere else in the United States.
