Bob & Mimmy’s Gardening

This great team came to our rescue again. Have Pygmy palms that needed trimming and securing to support poles they provided. Cleaned up the flower beds & planted a few azaleas to get ready for spring. Fertilized the lawn and did a few repairs on sprinkler heads that had been damaged when the city replaced sidewalks & broken curbs. They are so trustworthy you will never regret selecting Bob & Mimmy for your gardening or landscaping needs. Can’t praise then enough.

Bob E-​mailed me after the New Year just to check-​up and to see how the Lawn was doing. I told him that it was still looking good on the whole, but there was a few sections that didn’t seem to take or perhaps went into a hibernation state due to the chilly Winter we’ve been having.
Bob and Mimmy came by the very next day to take a look. They said that the patches of grass would most likely come back once the warm weather hit, but that they would replace it free of charge with fresh St. Augustine Sod just in case. Sure enough, the very next week Bob and Mimmy held true to their promise and replaced my Sod as needed!
I am writing this review to express my true gratitude to both Bob and Mimmy. Not often does a Landscaping Company go above and beyond as they have!

We just had Bob and Mimmy completely redo the sprinklers for our condo complex. They came out to do the estimate at the time they said they would be there and then sent us a very professional, detailed and complete estimate for the work to be done. We scheduled the work and once again they were there on time and completed the work really quick. Anytime that I called I got an immediate response back and my questions were always answered. They were a real pleasure to deal with, I really enjoyed working with them. I would highly recommend them.

We love Bob and Mimi! They are great and the quality of their work speaks for itself. They helped us revamp our Spanish home built in 1920. They updated the sprinklers and moved sprinkler heads to correct locations in our yard as well as flower beds. Now the sprinklers water more coverage using less water. How great is that. They also planted trees along our rear of our property to give more green in our yard as well as provide great privacy. They knew exactly what trees would work without ruining other plants or roots raising cement. They also recommended a great Plummer that assisted with replacing a gas line in our yard that was leaking that we were not aware of. We are so happy with their work we are definitely going to use them on our future projects. You will not be disappointed. Just call them and you with see what I am describing.

Bob and Mimmy just helped us with some improvements to our yard. Very nice people to work with. Mimmy was great at working with my wife to choose some new plants to put along side our entry walk and Bob installed new LED lights and a transformer. They also recommended someone to trim and remove some of our trees and bushes. Combined, our curb appeal is much improved.
Would like to add a before/​after picture, but not seeing that option for some reason.

I love Bob and Mimmy’s Gardening!!! When I moved into my home back in 2013 the yard needed an overhaul. Being new owners we waited until this year to get some work done on it. We know nothing about creating and upkeep of gardening and had someone come out and design and install a garden that was kind to the environment, but pleasing to look at. I hired someone that was just learning and he did a fairly decent job; however, there were some areas he just couldn’t get right. I found Bob and Mimmy on the Unilocal page and saw all the wonderful reviews they have received.
When Bob came out he and I discussed in detail what I wanted, and what he thought would be a good idea for the yard. Together we came up with a plan. The sprinkler system needed to be redone, as we’ll as the flower beds. Bob sent me an estimate and I was able to choose what I wanted them to do. They worked quickly and were very clean and completed the job in one day. They are both professional and knowledgable, they are craftsmen, and a delightful couple!
I found them to be fair with their prices, and stayed true to what they estimated.
We plan on using Bob and Mimmy in the spring to plant a «Forest Pansy» tree in our front yard.
I highly recommend Bob and Mimmy! If you use them you won’t be sorry!

When I met with Bob and Mimmy in October I was thrilled at the prospect of working with them. They were very attentive and thorough in their review of my front yard. They did charge $ 50 for doing the appointment, which was understandable — they were here for a good hour. However, I had to call to ask for the estimate when it didn’t arrive in the time given and when I received it, it was $ 5000 more than others I had received. Still, I emailed them back with a few questions, and pointed out that some of the items on our wishlist had not been addressed, but never received the courtesy of a reply. That was on October 31. Not cool; not professional.

I chose Bob and Mimmy strictly from Unilocal reviews, since some of the other companies I had talked to didn’t even get back to me. Not only did they respond right away, but the entire job was done within days and exceeded my expectations. This is a wonderful, family owned business and both Bob and Mimmy were a pleasure to work with. My yard looks brand new and I couldn’t be happier!

This review is overdue, but Bob and Mimmy deserve all 5 stars for their work. We moved into our house two years ago and it was looking a bit like a jungle. They helped us get the yard in great shape, relocate some plants and came back to check on them to make sure they were doing well. Bob educated us on our sprinkler system and has since come back for some repairs, while Mimmy took the time to teach me about our plants and how to best care for them. They’ve also helped us out with a front lawn emergency due to a plumbing issue under our grass. Prices are fair and I trust their work completely.

Our sprinklers were working fine until we got our garage remodeled and the people working on our garage messed up our sprinklers in our backyard. They no longer turned on at the specific time we designated. We would have to manually turn on the sprinklers and the timer on our sprinklers had the sprinklers watering our grass at odd times and watering it too much. We weren’t able to contact the people who worked on our garage and who messed up our sprinklers, so neighbor recommended Bob and Mimmy.
I called Bob and left a message. He called me that night and came out that same week. He charged us $ 50 to look at the problem which was later credited to our total bill. Bob and Mimmy were very professional and completed the job with no problem. I would definitely recommend them and use them again. Awesome Job!

Just fantastic. Bob came out — on short notice — to fix our sprinkler system. Turns out it was a very minor problem, which he quickly diagnosed and fixed.
Honestly, we should have found the problem ourselves, but we didn’t. He didn’t laugh at us (which he rightfully could have) or make us feel like it was a dumb mistake at all (which it was).
Bob then proceeded to provide an overview of our entire system, and showed us a few things we weren’t aware of. Gave a lot of tips and advice.
Overall, very happy and satisfied with their service. We will no doubt use them again.

Bob and Mimmy came by and gave my sprinkler system a tune-​up. Pretty standard right? No way. Bob took the time to literally check every station, line and sprinkler head for a full diagnosis. Then gave a detailed diagnosis and estimate. At the end he took the time to educate me on my own system and how to use it.
A few days later he trouble shot a few residual problems and everything was dialed in.
I really felt like they treated my project with the same care and attention to detail, as if it were their own project. I highly recommend them.

I am very pleased with the service provided by Bob & Mimmy’s. They responded to my initial phone call promptly. They came to my home regarding the sprinkler work I needed to have done, in a timely manner. Bob told me that it might be a few weeks before he could do my work, which was fine. Bob called me this afternoon, much sooner than I anticipated and told me just finished a job early and could come to my home right away. Within a very short time, Bob arrived and completed the work. My sprinkler system is working fine and not wasting any water. Great work by a good person! I highly recommend Bob and Mimmy’s!

Bob and Mimmy are nothing less than completely professional. They share a great eye for design and the potential for any given outdoor space. We followed their recommendation, and the outcome was spectacular.
In addition, they are honest and forthcoming in their estimate. Our final invoice was actually less than the initial quote, and they are able to salvage our existing fountain rather than replace it. They have our best interest in mind, both aesthetically and financially.

They were excellent! Very punctual, was able to figure out the problem and fix it all in one visit, friendly great customer service, and best of all, AFFORDABLE! DEFINITELY recommend this company for any sprinkler problem.

Look no further, folks, Bob and Mimmy’s Gardening is the ONLY company I will ever call again for my landscaping and irrigation issues!!! I wish I had found them sooner, I had them come out and fix things done by OTHER landscaping companies ! I had dry spots in my lawn & flower beds that my sprinklers weren’t reaching, broken sprinkler heads, a termite-​infested tree that needed removing, and electrical issues with my timer. Both Bob and Mimmy came out for the initial meeting and manually tested each watering station and took notes (yes, they take notes !) and made suggestions. Their estimate is a la carte style and you can pick and choose what you want done based on your priorities. The initial fee is also credited towards the work that they complete. Not only did they do what I had selected, they even planted an aloe vera plant for free in my yard that we had talked about !
Bob and Mimmy actually did the work themselves and took the time and care that I would have taken had I done it myself ! Plus, they are very nice, sweet, and personable people that I enjoyed chatting with and I now have them on speed dial !!!

I have 2 flower beds in front of my home that have been through several make overs from my wife and in laws which only left me with the up keep of the beds. Its seem the weeds and nut grass was the only thing thriving. I had my home painted and the painters had to dig in to the bed to paint the stucco. They trampled what ever was there and much of the plants received a healthy dose of over spray at this point i had a nice newly painted home and an ugly flowerbed that was an eyesore.
I did a couple of searches and came across Bob & Mimmes. I reached out to Bob prior to the 4^th of July weekend left him a message and he returnd my call that Sunday. We made arrangments to meet Tuesday afternoon. When Bob Showed he was very thorough and took down a lot of notes. I asked to hit the reset button and wanted everything gone except 2 small Plumera trees he mentioned he would clean up and salvage a few plants i already had to save a bit [Garlic Grass, Kangaroo Paw and Purple heart] I was ok with that and asked him for pricing on lighting as well. Bob Said he would be emailing me the estimate. When that email came (im going to be extremly honest) i nearly fell of my bed when i seen the pricing and there was no way i was going to invest that that much money and there had to be some kind of mistake. I called him the next morning and thats when i figured out he did a la carte and you pick and choose what you want. He also gives you a high estimate but its really based on what the customer likes and chooses. As much as i didnt want to invest to much Money in the flowerbeds i went ahead and gave Bob the green light and he asked if i can meet with his wife Mimmie at a nursery to see what i wanted. We agreed to meet that afternoon.
When i met Mimmie that afternoon and after a few minutes of her going over some plants i was convinced i had choosen the right people for the Job. Mimmie is definitely Bobs secret weapon and is super knoledgable and new what every single plant in that nursey was. Bob had already briefed her on the layout and she already had an idea in her head and just needed to know what colors and styles i liked. After 45 mins or so she had a pretty good idea of what i was looking for and said she would mock up the plants in the bed before planting them and get a final approval from me. At this point i felt so comfortable with Mimmie (We call it warm and fuzzies in the Customer service world) that i gave her the green light to do as she pleased as i had the utmost confidence in her.
I was not disapointed and am extremely happy with the outcome and best of all i came in way under that estimated price. :))
Bob came by Sunday afternoon to make a few tweaks i requested for the lighting and not only do i have amazing looking flower beds now i have lighting to show them off at night.

I had intended to write this review months ago — better late than never, i suppose!
Just after Christmas break, we needed a small repair to a broken irrigation head/​line. The gardener who previously installed the head and piping did such a poor job that we weren’t about to have him back. All the reviews for Bob & Mimmy were very positive, so we gave them a call. I was not expecting much as the repair was minor and hardly worth the drive to our house.
Even though their schedule was packed, they managed to find the time on short notice to come to our house; this was most appreciated as i had to return to work that week. Not only did they did they solve the burst pipe and leak, but they took the time to explain why the previously installation failed and how they remedied it. They both worked with a smile! I was surprised to see even Mimmy on her hands and knees digging up dirt in our front yard. It was refreshing to see a husband/​wife team work together, and enjoy what they were doing.
We highly recommend Bob & Mimmy and would not hesitate to have them back — when we have a more substantial project for them.

We had some extensive work done to the exterior of our house about a year ago, which left our existing landscaping literally destroyed. After searching on Unilocal for some helpful feedback on landscapers, Bob and Mimmy were at the top of the list. My wife and I agreed that they were the best choice, so we scheduled an appointment for them to come out and take a look at what we wanted. Bob and Mimmy showed up at the designated time, surveyed our project, and gave us an itemized quote that was extremely detailed. After careful consideration, we agreed to the quote and a start date was agreed upon.
Bob and Mimmy have an awesome process, where Mimmy (who is so knowledgeable), met us at a nursery and spent a couple of hours walking through the nursery, asking us questions about our tastes in plants, what colors we liked, and what we did not care for. Once Mimmy had a thorough understanding of what we liked, she proceeded to do a sun/​shade evaluation of our yards, so as to pick the most appropriate plants for the different areas with different sun exposures.
On the scheduled start date, Bob and Mimmy arrived on time and worked diligently clearing out the old landscaping. Once the clearing was complete, Bob (who is an irrigation specialist) plumbed our planters with an array of watering zones, all with different pressures and spraying patters… from drips, to slow soakers, to full coverage spray patterns for the new sod. Bob is absolutely amazing when it comes to irrigation. All the watering was put on timers, as Bob is also water conscious and made sure the plants and sod got just enough water to thrive, but not so much to be wasteful.
Once the irrigation was complete, Mimmy stepped in and worked her magic on the plant placement and planting. The planter beds and lawn areas were thoroughly prepared with new soil and fertilizer, in preparation for the planting. Mimmy has an unbelievable talent for placements and made sure the plants were exactly where we wanted them… as they told us, «you are the customer, and we are not finished until you are 100 percent satisfied».
In all, this was by far the best experience we have ever had with someone doing work for us. The Unilocal reviews are accurate, as Bob and Mimmy’s Gardening is a service I highly recommend. I will never use anyone but them for my landscaping needs. One thing to mention that shows their dedication and love of what they do, is their follow up. Bob and Mimmy have made a couple of trips back to our house, just to check on things and to make sure there aren’t any problems. Mimmy actually came back and was checking the water content of the soil to make sure it was perfect… who does that sort of thing these days? Bob and Mimmy do!!!
They are Unilocal rock stars and are very deserving of every 5 star rating.
