A Checkered Towing

I called AAA to have my motorcycle towed 5 miles to a repair shop. The tow truck driver did not secure my motorcycle properly and resulted in destroying the front fender to the tune of $ 1200.00. The owner of the company is now blatantly lying, claiming his driver did use a back strap to keep the bike from moving forward. If at all possible, go with another company. An honest company that will take responsibility for their drivers actions.

When your car needs towing it’s normally the start of a rough day… today, i needed my car towed, and thanks to Brad at Checkered Towing, i got a silver lining on this event.
Brad was quick, very professional, and very easy to work with… made me smile! I appreciate good people doing great work… especially when I’m in a tough spot!

I Used A Checkered Towing again, a week after last time. The garage they towed my Classic Oldsmobile Toronado to did not repair it properly and needed to take it to a specialist in classic cars. I would have used that garage first if they had been open on Saturday, but none the less, A checkered came through again and was especially helpful this time as well.

Terible service in my opinion. First off they did not give me a receipt for my towing service. They promise to send me a receipt via email i provided and then waited two days from the service and still nothing. I called on the third day and they dont even have any information that i gave them pretty much started from scratch. Now my insurance is asking for this simple information for reimbursement and i dont even have it. Go somewhere else for towing service.

Oscar was wonderful, allowing me, a professional car reviewer, to put my poor 2002 Mini Cooper on the flatbed myself, which is normally a no-​no. I received the company’s services through my AAA membership; I’d recommend this firm — and the ever-​courteous Oscar — to anyone that needs a quick reliable tow. The back of Oscar’s card stated the owners, Monica & Manny work toward having totally satisfied customers. While I hate being without a car, Oscar and A Checkered Towing made the onset of this situation much more bearable.

I had to write a review because I had the best experience ever for a service call. I found out my battery was toast and since I was leaving for a road trip the next day figured I should call AAA for a new one just in case. A Checkered Towing came out to replace it and were so personable and helpful. Keshawn made the experience efficient and was very thorough while training Soa. Both were exceptionally helpful and even offered me a cold bottle of water! Soa was kind enough to check my fluids since I was going to be driving in the heat and noticed my coolant was low as well and showed me where to fill the reservoir. If I could give ten stars I would. A Checkered Towing, you have some fantastic drivers who excel at customer service. Thanks a million!!!

Buyer Beware!!! I provided the phone clerk all the details for the pick up & drop off location. We approved the cost and upon pick up the quote changed to a higher cost. I called the phone clerk back and she did not apologize nor was sympathetic regarding the mis-​quote. Her tone and attitude was extremely aggressive. She was argumentative and non empathetic. It’s 12am in the morning & she had the audacity to state if we don’t pay the price they won’t tow our car after waiting 20 minutes. Worst customer service of all time! Don’t take the chance with this company. I will never use them again.

Had to call AAA because my car won’t start. Ivan from A Checkered Towing came within minutes and replaced my battery. Excellent service! Ivan was efficient, friendly, knowledgeable, and super courteous. Thank you very much!

My experience with this company was outstanding, particularly with the driver Manuel! He really flipped my crappy day around. It’s bad enough that my car would not start on a rainy day but to top it off, among so many other things that went wrong that day, it was my birthday! «Manny» arrived quickly after the AAA call and came to the rescue to mount my car in the pouring rain. He had the heater going in his truck and was very polite and attentive. He was respectful of my wishes to not try and figure out what was wrong with my car but rather get me home as quickly as possible. No BS. Thank you!

Time and time again. I mess up and have to call AAA for assistance. It’s a good thing that I am always in Long Beach because I know Checkered Towing will take care of me and they always have. Yesterday, Soa helped me out with a jump when I had my car idle for a few minutes. He was even pleasant enough to offer me water while I waited in my car. I believe it was him too who helped me when I ran out of gas on the 710 freeway one time! Thank you so much for your dedicated service.

I can’t express the wonderful job that Manny from (A Checkered Towing) provided for me. After running over spikes I was sitting on (2) flats in a not so desired area. First of all he arrived very timely which is unheard of for a tow truck in my experiences. I was concerned about my safety, he placed me in a safe environment and he went far beyond his call of duty to assist me with my needs. I have done business with other tow companies previously but «A Checkered Towing» is far above the rest. Thank you Manny!!! The first time I ran out of gas it was raining
I was in a summer dress with high heels and I ran out of gas across the street from the gas station… it wasn’t cute everyone honked their horns at me yelling like crazy people because I couldn’t move out of the left lane.
What the heck was I supposed to do…
I ran like I was being chased by the police to call AAA oh and I forgot my cell phone too and had to use that filthy pay phone.
Yes sir… I ran out of gas across the street from the gas station.
This is déjà vu all over again but this time I have a phone. HaHa
As I drove to Albertsons I knew that I needed gas then I decided to go to the gas station after I visited the store.

I call AAA for an urgent roadside service they sent over Edgar from «A checkered Towing» I was so happy to see him he arrived in 10 minutes and was very professional.
I paid for the gas and it cost me $ 9.00 and that’s exactly what I get for being lazy an expensive dose of reality.

Got a nail in my tire and called AAA for assistance. I waited approximately 20 mins for service. Swapped out my tires and I was taken care of within 20 mins from the time he pulled up.

My car remote decides to run out of batteries so I’m stuck out of the car, with my spare battery inside… We call AAA, who sends over these guys. Well, the driver pulls up, starts doing his thing with the windows. In the mean time, I keep hitting my remote hoping it’ll open. Probably 30 seconds from him finishing my doors open. The guy says «Merry Christmas» and says he’d cancel the AAA call, because you’re limited to 4. I asked if he’d get paid if he cancels the call… Nope. Super nice guy. Hope you never get locked out, if you do, then these guys are a great help!

About 5PM I wanted to make my usual trip to Huntington Beach. Best laid plans and all that stuff. My beloved Explorer wouldn’t start. I surmised it was the battery and called the Auto Club. Soon I received a call to get to my vehicle as the representative of the Auto club, Checkered Towing was at the gate. He quickly got me started and checked out my charging system. Charging System and Starter checked out OK. I have had a prior experience with Auto club and last time I didn’t buy their battery. However, I had a suspicion that this older battery might fail and priced them at one of the local auto supply stores. Having this information made my decision easy. Let Checkered Towing replace my battery. The technician was both fast and good. Soon I was off to Huntington Beach. Thank you Checkerd towing.
