99 Cents Only Store

I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS STORE AGAIN! At around 3:30 PM on 1−25−16 I walked into this
99 Cents Only Store that I have been going to for years now and was aggressively addressed by the security guard and told that I had to leave my backpack at the front. At this point I told the security guard that I had been coming to this store for years now and always use my backpack to put my purchases in and then asked to talk to the manager. When I talked to the manager I was told that the security guard was just doing their job. At this point I told them that I would contact corporate and the manager just asked if I wanted the number. Here I am walking into the store and treated like a common thief so I have to question where is this coming from! My next step is to go to the community meeting tonight and after that be seeking legal advise depending on what response I get for corporate offices of 99 Cents Only!

The best 99 cent store in LA county hands down my favorite place. Atleast they have all the stuff i want when i go

Ghetto, and super long lines! They have a wide variety of stuff for 99 cents, however you should always check the expiration dates!
They need to clean, this place is always dirty, and the need to have more than 2 lanes open!

I normally would never rate a dollar store. Most are the same give or take a few items. BUT I came in for one particular item and before I could get in the door good I see a woman with her dog. I immediately think WTH?! BUT it only gets more appalling when I see her put the dog on the checkout table. PEOPLE BUY FOOD HERE. and you put your mid sized dog up there?! The cashier said nothing to her. Security was standing at the end of the aisle a couple of feet away and said nothing. Several other employees (not sure positions, but they had badges on) were standing next to the next register. They also said nothing. I get that people love their dogs, but this was not a service animal, and being in the store bugs me a bit, but more so the audacity to place it on the counter where food is sold. I will not be back at this location.

Pretty good $ 1 store, but often VERY long lines, so if you need few things go to Dollar Tree, if you need a lot of stuff this is usually best option.

Horrible!!! Only two cashiers open with huge lines! The reason I give it one star is because their security is one of the best I’ve seen.

I like this 99 cent store because it’s so big.

Whenever I need things for work such as Christmas decorations I come here.

Bigger 99 cent store than most with a lot of variety. The lines can get a little hectic, but that is expected.

Really impressed with the customer service, I was helped by Jonathan and Samuel. Everyone was very helpful and positive. Kudos to management and staff.

This 99 cents location is terrible. It’s located with other business that share the same parking lot. The parking is quite small and there’s only two ways to enter or exit causing traffic to congest in the plaza. It doesn’t seem that anyone comes to retrieve the carts from the 99 cents store after use, and there isn’t a designated cart return area, probably because of the limited parking area. Lines for checkout are ridiculously long and the staff looks like they hate working there. Probably won’t be returning to this location anytime soon.

I’m giving this 5 stars for one reason only… it has served the long beach area for many years before they built one in signal hill. Mind you it’s in signal hill. Therefore it’s servicing such a large area and doing the best they can. Kudos! And I’m happy they’re here!

Location, location, location and that says it all. I asked the manager if there had been an earthquake because there was stuff all over the floors and the shelves were a mess. He just shrugged his shoulders and said, «No» and gave me this forlorn and helpless look. With apologies to the local residents, why would you treat a store with any less respect than your own house? As the items are the same at every 99 store, I’ll by pass this location unless I’m absolutely desperate.

I’m from the Bay Area and was living in Carson for awhile a couple of years ago. Had to find me a 99ct only store cause it’s my favorite. Good store, a little ghetto outside (it IS Long Beach Blvd.!), but I’m a little kid when at 99ct Only. Also, quickly found out they have the finest Mexican girls working there of any place on LB Blvd. store! DAMN, THEY’RE FINE! WOOT WOOT!

I agree with other reviewers when they call this place ghetto. There’s a security guard at the front door who checks receipts and lots of people wandering around inside. There are lots of canned and packaged food items. They do have some fresh food, bagged spinach, melons, and sliced bread. It’s a great place to buy gift bags and party supplies.

Don’t get me wrong this store is Ghetto and you always see some big ass girls wearing half of the clothing they should!
A lot of homeless people are always in there asking for change and even the other day when I was there the security guard (you know it ghetto if there is a security guard in the store) was chasing down some girl and grabbing her, that crazy ass broad was stealing some kids kites or something like that LOL! I seen it falling out of her pants– it was hilarious!
But I shop here so often just to pick up little things, like napkins or gift bags, tissues paper, sometimes super glue, etc…
I have come to know some of the employees, so they are nice to me. But they can be rude… So many employees come and go in this store.
They tend to have a lot of good name brand food items. Like Lunchables, Kraft, Farmer Johns, Yoplait, dozen eggs and now they even carry a gallon of milk for $ 2.99 that is cheaper then any store I know for milk.
But beware that most of there food items (chips, frozen foods, cookies, etc…) are close to there exp. date. So eat it quickly!
I shop here and will continue for all there great deals!

Holy smokes… GHETTO! I am undecided if it’s ghetto fab or just plain ghetto but I’m leaning towards the latter. I love a good bargain and the neighborhood doesn’t even bother me but this store is a crazy disorganized mess. And it’s super busy. And it’s laid out weird. And it’s a crazy disorganized mess. Did I mention it was disorganized and a mess? Yep… it’s that bad.
I did score some good deals (canned beans, spices, Bounty paper towels) but all in all it really isn’t worth the drive for me. To top it off, the employees had attitude. Meh. I think I’ll pass.

Can’t say I’m a big 99 cent shopper. I’ve been to them before many times to quickly look, however the only reason this one has gotten my attention is that this one has a huge refrigerated section and produce section. Not all the items here are fresh, but you can get an occasional deal. I picked up a nice size bag of key limes for… wait for it… wait for it… that’s right 99 cents! Not bad.
The parking lot is pretty big so there’s plenty of parking. Also I noticed they had a descent gift wrapping section. Not bad since that kind of stuff at Target can be way overpriced.

99 cent only stores are my favorite place for value. However this loc is ghetto as hell. This just happens to be the closest to my crib. (i’m deep in the ghetto too)
Normally i would give the place 4 stars just because its a 99 cent only, but this loc is always an adventure, not always positive or entertaining.
I saw cracks galore today. Yes, ass cracks! ! ! Around every corner there was some hefty mama bending over sporting major crack destroying my beloved 99 cent shopping experience. (Just say NO to crack). Then some jive turkey just cut in front in line. «i only got 1 thang» she mumbled as she squeezed infront. I figured better to roll with it than to argue with a 300 lb baby mama with an ass that looked like 3 full sized rottweilers fighting under a moomoo. Damn! ! !.
Then there was a pack of trannies running amok in the veggie area. Man o man, was like jerry springer show live.
Even with all the added controversy and extreme limits of diversity, the 99 is one my favs to pick up all sorts of favorably priced snacks and doodads.
When u roll to this loc, be prepared for an interesting and bizarre adventure into the ghetto abyss and try not to stare.

Large and big parking lot.
Like most other 99 cents only stores, one can go to this location and witness what’s wrong with USA society (minus new plasma TV purchased on credit).
This location is pretty darn grande. They have a good sized produce selection and lots of tools and handy stuff. There is also a healthy dose of street rat kids. Sweet.
The good news is that the lines were short, there was a burly security dewd, the selection was huge and I didn’t see somebody grab something off the shelf, take a bit and put it back on the shelf (you gotta go to Venice Beach to see that action, Larry).
Don’t half step. Get celery, bananas, apples and face scrub here.

Ok, this isn’t just a 99cent store with random crap that you either do or don’t need. This is my usual lunch stop! I work right across the street and often (way too often), I find myself walking on over and grabbing lunch. Hey, you can’t beat a fresh salad, a bag of persian cucumbers, tomatoes, peaches and other goodies for under $ 5. Haaaaaaaay! I know, right?
I also make usual stops when I’m in the mood to pick up snacks for my kiddies, candy for myself, or bubbles! Yes — bubbles! Do you know that if you can make blow bubbles, you know how to take deep breaths? Ta-​da! That’s my on-​the-​fly relaxation exercise for kids who think they don’t know how to breathe. :)
